Today, Ultrasonic is used as an important non-destructive test tool of semiconductor reliability evaluation and failure analysis. The semiconductor packaging trend goes to develop thin package, this trend makes difficult to inspect to defect in semiconductor package. One of the important problem in all semiconductor is moisture absorption in the atmosphere. This moisture causes crack or delamination to package when the semiconductor package is soldered on PCB. Reliability evaluation of semiconductor's object is investigating the effect of this moisture. For that reason, this study is investigating the effect of this moisture and reliability evaluation of semiconductor after preconditioning test and scanning acoustic microscope.
In this study, preconditioned adjoint equations for the quasi one-dimensional Euler equations are developed, and their computational benefit at all speed is assessed numerically. The preconditioned adjoint equations are derived without any assumptions on the preconditioning matrix. The dissipation for Roe type numerical flux is also suggested to scale the dissipation term properly at low Mach numbers as well as at high Mach numbers. The new preconditioned method is validated against analytical solutions. The convergence characteristics over wide range of Mach numbers is evaluated. Finally, several inverse designs for the nozzle are conducted and the applicability of the method is demonstrated.

When a semiconductor package is assembled, various materials such as die attach adhesive, lead frame, EMC (Epoxy Molding Compound), and gold wire are used. For better preconditioning performance, the combination between the packaging materials by studying the compatibility of their properties as well as superior packaging material selection is important. But it is not an easy task to find proper packaging material sets, since a variety of factors like package design, substrate design, substrate size, substrate treatment, die size, die thickness, die passivation, and customer requirements should be considered. This research applies case-based reasoning(CBR) technique to solve this problem, utilizing prior cases that have been experienced. Our particular interests lie in building decision support model to aid the selection of proper die attach adhesive. The preliminary results show that this approach is promising.
The solution of large sparse linear systems is one of the most important problems in large scale scientific computing. Among the many methods developed, the preconditioned Krylov subspace methods are considered the preferred methods. Selecting a suitable preconditioner with appropriate parameters for a specific sparse linear system presents a challenging task for many application scientists and engineers who have little knowledge of preconditioned iterative methods. The prediction of ILU type preconditioners was considered in [27] where support vector machine(SVM), as a data mining technique, is used to classify large sparse linear systems and predict best preconditioners. In this paper, we apply the data mining approach to the sparse approximate inverse(SAI) type preconditioners to find some parameters with which the preconditioned Krylov subspace method on the linear systems shows best performance.

An accelerating flow field through a compressor cascade is studied numerically by unsteady computational simulation. The two-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations for compressible flow is used for the study of unsteady high incidence angle flow, with preconditioning scheme to cover the wide range of Mach number and $\kappa-\omega$ model for the turbulent viscous flow analysis. A DCA(double circular arc) compressor blade is accelerated artificially in this study to understand the unsteady effect by comparing the present results with the existing steady-state experimental and computational results. Also, the accelerating flow field during the starting phase of gas turbine is studied with actual experimental data for the understanding of flow field and performance characteristics at off-design condition.
An efficient Newton-GMRES algorithm is presented for computing two-dimensional steady compressible viscous flows on unstructured hybrid meshes. The scheme is designed on cell-centered finite volume method which accepts general polygonal meshes. Steady-state solution is obtained with pseudo-transient continuation strategy. The preconditioned, restarted general minimum residual(GMRES) method is employed in matrix-free form to solve the linear system arising at each Newton iteration. The incomplete LU fartorization is employed for the preconditioning of linear system. The Spalart-Allmars one equation turbulence model is fully coupled with the flow equations to simulate turbulence effect. The accuracy, efficiency and robustness of the presently developed method are demonstrated on various test problems including laminar and turbulent flows over flat plate and airfoils.
Engineering interests of submerged bodies and turbomachinery has led researchers to study various cavitation models for decades. The governing equations used for the present work are the two-phase Navier-Stokes equations with homogeneous mixture model. The solver employed on implicit dual time preconditioning algorithm in curvilinear coordinates. Three different cavitation models were applied to two axisymmetric cylinders and compared with experiments. It is concluded that the Merkle's new cavitation model has successfully accounted for cavitating flows and well captured the re-entrant jet phenomenon over the 0-caliber cylinder.

For many years, testing laboratories, research institutes and manufactures try to find a reliable water tree accelerated ageing test that is able to show whether a polymer Medium Voltage cable os susceptible to water treeing or not. Test on laboratory samples, model cable designs, and fell size cable are presented Apart form aging, another important aspect of any accelerated aging test is the right choice of th preconditioning method. This paper is the analysis of weibull distribution method after an accelerated aging test of MV(Medium Voltage) cable.
The Equations of Chemical kinetics are very stiff, which forces the use of an implicit scheme. The problem of implicit scheme, however, is that the jacobian must be solved at each time step. In this paper, we examined the methodology that can be stable without full chemical jacobian, This method is derived by applying the different time steps to the chemical source term. And the lower triangular chemical jacobian is derived. This is called the preconditioned time differencing method and represents partial implicit method. We show that this method is more stable in chemical kinetics than the full implicit method and that this is more efficient in supersonic combustion problem than the full jacobian method with same accuracy.
A partly implicit/quasi-explicit method is introduced for the solution of detailed chemical kinetics with stiff source terms based on the standard fourth-order Runge-Kutta scheme. Present method solves implicitly only the stiff reaction rate equations, whereas the others explicitly. The stiff equations are selected based on the survey of the chemical Jaconian matrix and its Eigenvalues. As an application of the present method constant pressure combustion was analyzed by a detailed mechanism of hydrogen-air combustion with NOx chemistry. The sensitivity analysis reveals that only the 4 species in NOx chemistry has strong stiffness and should be solved implicitly among the 13 species. The implicit solution of the 4 species successfully predicts the entire process with same accuracy and efficiency at half the price.
