The Role of Rice Vacuolar Invertase2 in Seed Size Control

  • Sink strength optimizes sucrose import, which is fundamental to support developing seed grains and increase crop yields, including those of rice (Oryza sativa). In this regard, little is known about the function of vacuolar invertase (VIN) in controlling sink strength and thereby seed size. Here, in rice we analyzed mutants of two VINs, OsVIN1 and OsVIN2, to examine their role during seed development. In a phenotypic analysis of the T-DNA insertion mutants, only the OsVIN2 mutant osvin2-1 exhibited reduced seed size and grain weight. Scanning electron microscopy analysis revealed that the small seed grains of osvin2-1 can be attributed to a reduction in spikelet size. A significant decrease in VIN activity and hexose level in the osvin2-1 spikelets interfered with spikelet growth. In addition, significant reduction in starch and increase in sucrose, which are characteristic features of reduced turnover and flux of sucrose due to impaired sink strength, were evident in the pre-storage stage of osvin2-1 developing grains. In situ hybridization analysis found that expression of OsVIN2 was predominant in the endocarp of developing grains. A genetically complemented line with a native genomic clone of OsVIN2 rescued reduced VIN activity and seed size. Two additional mutants, osvin2-2 and osvin2-3 generated by the CRISPR/Cas9 method, exhibited phenotypes similar to those of osvin2-1 in spikelet and seed size, VIN activity, and sugar metabolites. These results clearly demonstrate an important role of OsVIN2 as sink strength modulator that is critical for the maintenance of sucrose flux into developing seed grains.

명화 하브루타 지원을 위한 딥러닝 기반 동양화 인물 분석 (Deep Learning-based Person Analysis in Oriental Painting for Supporting Famous Painting Habruta)

  • 하브루타 교육은 짝을 지어 대화하고 토론하고 논쟁하는 방식의 질문 중심 교육이며, 특히 명화 하브루타는 명화에 대한 질문과 답변을 통해 그림의 감상 능력을 증진하고 표현력을 풍부하게 하기 위한 목적으로 시행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 동양화를 대상으로 한 명화 하브루타를 지원하기 위해, 최신 딥러닝 기술을 활용하여 동양화 등장인물의 성별 관점에서 질문을 자동으로 생성하는 방안을 제시한다. 구체적으로 본 연구에서는 사전학습모델인 VGG16을 바탕으로 동양화 인물 중심의 미세조정을 수행하여 동양화의 인물 분석을 효과적으로 수행할 수 있는 모델을 제안한다. 또한 질문의 유형을 명화 하브루타에서 사용되는 사실 질문, 상상 질문, 그리고 적용 질문의 3가지 유형으로 분류하고, 각 질문을 등장인물에 따라 세분화하여 총 9가지의 질문 패턴을 도출하였다. 제안 방법론의 활용 가능성을 확인하기 위해 실제 동양화의 등장인물 300건을 분석한 실험을 수행하였으며, 실험 결과 제안 방법론에 따른 성별 분류 모델이 기존 모델에 비해 높은 정확도를 나타냄을 확인하였다.

코로나19 예방접종증명서의 국제적 인정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the International Recognition of the COVID-19 Vaccination Certificates)

  • After the COVID-19 outbreak in 2019, the spread of COVID-19 has not been easily caught despite preventive measures in each country. The spread of COVID-19 has hit the world, especially in the economic and tourism sectors. Countries around the world are easing restrictions on the movement of vaccinated people in preparation for the post-corona era. Under the name of "Vaccine Passport," "Vaccination Certificate," and "Digital Health Pass," vaccination measures are being implemented to allow vaccination recipients to use multi-use facilities. However, there is no international agreement on the movement of countries, and each country has its own immigration policy. In order to return to pre-corona daily life, global agreements must be reached from the movement of vaccinated people between countries, and standards and implementation methods must be determined. This study focuses on the implementation and utilization of vaccination certificates suitable for the COVID-19 era. We will look at the spread of COVID-19 and its international response policies. In the case of COVID-19, we will investigate why vaccination certificate installation should be standardized and how far the current standardization has been discussed, and discuss the characteristics of vaccination certificate installation and considerations. In order for the immunization certificate discussed in the previous chapter to be recognized internationally, institutional and technical considerations are identified and security factors that may occur in each implementation are also presented. Finally, the international recognition case of vaccination certificate is discussed, and the method of installation and utilization of vaccination certificate is proposed. This paper can be used as a policy because of its timeliness in studying the standards of vaccination certificates and considerations for international recognition to restore movement between countries in the spread of COVID-19. In addition, if other infectious diseases occur in the future or similar cases where movement between countries is restricted, it can be used as a reference to support the movement of verified people.

기계학습을 통한 전기화재 예측모델 연구 (Electrical fire prediction model study using machine learning)

  • 매년 전기화재사고에 대한 사고유형 분석, 점검 등 전기적 화재사고를 줄이기 위해 다양한 노력이 있었으나, 효율적인 의사결정지원 체계 및 기존 누적 데이터 활용방안의 미비로 효과적인 대처방안이 부재한 현황이다. 본 연구는 전기안전점검데이터, 전기화재사고정보, 건축물정보, 기상청정보 등 데이터 기반의 전기화재를 예측하는 알고리즘을 개발하고 이를 활용하여 전기화재사고를 줄이는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서는 한국전기안전공사, 기상청, 국토교통부, 소방본부 등 기관별로 수집된 데이터를 전처리, 융합, 분석, 모델링, 검증 과정을 거쳐 전기화재에 영향을 끼치는 요인과 예측모델을 도출하였다. 주요요인으로 절연저항 값, 습도, 풍속, 건축물 노후년수, 용적율, 건폐율, 건축물용도로 나타났고, Random forest 알고리즘을 활용한 예측모델은 74.7%의 정확도를 얻었다.

간접 코팅과 롤 접합을 이용한 의료용 스플린트 제작 및 공정기술 개발 (Development of the Splint Manufacturing Process Using Indirect Coating and Roll Bonding)

  • With the increase in number of the athletic population and elderly demographic, the demand for orthopedic splints, which are used to support a damaged body, has rapidly increased. Current splints mainly consist of inner and outer parts, which are multiple fabrics covered with polyurethane and nonwoven fabrics, respectively. However, the laminated materials with directly applied pre-polymer coating lead to a high defect rate because of the uneven thickness on the surface. Thus, this study proposes an indirect coating method using a precise clearance controller, which enables the even application of the coating material on multiple inner parts while maintaining a constant thickness. In addition, a roll-to-roll (R2R) technique is applied instead of the sewing mechanism to bond the inner and outer materials together and enhance the productivity in the final stage. In the advanced methods, there is a storage tank that contains polyurethane, a clearance controller, and pairs of rollers in the upper and lower rows. To improve the quality of the products and optimize the equipment, three controllable factors are determined: the viscosity of polyurethane, angle of the gap controller and number of pairs of rollers in the R2R system.

접근제어 정책구현을 위한 역할기반 XML 암호화 (Role based XML Encryption for Enforcing Access Control Policy)

  • XML문서가 웹 문서의 표준으로 자리잡음에 따라 많은 정보들이 XML문서의 형식으로 표현되면서 XML문서의 보안에 관한 요구도 커지고 있다. XML문서의 보안은 암호화, 전자서명, 키 관리, 접근제어에 관한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 현재까지의 XML보안에 관한 연구는 암호화와 전자서명 같은 통신상의 보안에 관한 연구가 중심이 되었으나, XML문서가 방대해지고 복잡해짐에 따라 XML문서에 대한 통신상의 보안 뿐 아니라 관리적인 보안이 필요하게 되었다 이러한 관리적인 보안은 접근제어를 통해 보장할 수 있다. 하지만 XML문서의 암호화는 단순한 통신상의 보안만을 제공할 뿐 관리적 보안 요소인 다양한 사용자와 다양한 접근권한 정책을 반영하지 못하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 XML-문서의 보안을 위해 역할별 권한정책을 반영한 접근제어를 보장하는 주체기반 암호화 기법을 제안한다. 접근제어를 보장하는 암호화를 수행함으로써 다양한 사용자의 다양한 권한정책을 반영할 수 있다. 또한 제안하는 암호화 기법은 전처리 과정을 이용하여 기존의 접근제어 기법의 복잡한 접근 권한 평가 비용을 줄일 수 있다

DonorsChoose의 기부형 크라우드펀딩에 기반한 가치공동창출 모델링 (Value Co-creation Modeling of DonorsChoose's Donation-based Crowdfunding)

  • Donation-based crowdfunding(DBC) is conducted from voluntary participation by project operators. It requires a different operational strategy than general crowdfunding. However, there is a limited amount of research on the operational strategy of DBC. This study explores the value co-creation(VCC) strategy of DBC and analyzes the operation of DonorsChoose.org. The research questions encompass the following: First, we identify the VCC activities of DBC. Second, we uncover activities of the platform operators that facilitate the participation of project operators in VCC activities. Third, we explore how VCC activities affect project operational performance and platform performance in DBC. By adopting a single case study method on DonorsChoose.org, this study provides meaningful insight and detailed understanding into the VCC in DBC. First, VCC processes of DBC are identified(Co-ideation, Co-design, Co-funding, Co-operation, and Co-evaluation). Also, interactions between platform operators and project operators were defined at each stage. Second, this study confirmed that standardization and simplification of platform operators, support for pre- and post-activity, and high-quality information delivery activities were critical. Third, we confirm that these VCC activities improve VCC operational performance and platform performance. The theoretical significance of this study is that the concept of VCC, previously concentrated on participants with economic drivers(consumers and investors), has been applied to the context of DBC, a form of participation by participants with non-economic drivers(supporters and donors). In addition, this study practically contributes to the practice of VCC strategy among various platform operating strategies in DBC.

Effect of Real Estate Holding Type on Household Debt

  • Purpose: This study aims to provide implications for the government's housing supply policy by analyzing the factors that determine the type of real estate holding and household debt. This study started from the awareness that the determinants of household debt differ depending on the type of real estate holding. Research design, data and methodology: Real estate ownership type was classified and analyzed into 4 models: model 1 (1 household 1 house and self-resident), model 2 (1 household multiple real estate ownership and self-resident), model 3 (1 household 1 house and rent residence), model 4 (1 household holds a large number of real estate and rent residence). The analysis method used multiple regression analysis. The dependent variable was household total debt. As independent variables, household debt, annual gross household income, financial assets, real estate net assets, annual repayment, demographic & residential characteristics were used. Results: 1) Model 4 has the highest household debt and the highest gross income, Model 2 has the most real estate mortgage loans and real estate net asset, and Model 1 has the highest real estate mortgage payments. 2) The positive factor of common household debt determinants is real estate net assets, and the negative factor is financial assets. 3) It was the net assets of real estate that acted as a positive factor in common for the four models. In other words, the more financial assets, the less household debt. It was analyzed that the more net assets of real estate, the more household debt. The annual repayment of financial liabilities had no influence on household debt, while the annual repayment of loan liabilities and household debt had a positive relationship. Conclusions: 1) It is necessary to introduce benefits and systems that can increase the proportion of household financial asset. Specific alternatives include tax benefits and reduced fees for financial asset investment. 2) In the case where a homeless person prepares one house for one household, it is necessary to prepare various support measures according to the income level. The specific alternative is to give additional points for pre-sale or apply an interest rate cut incentive for mortgage loans.

실시간 스트리밍 서비스에서 신조어 정보 제공 시스템 (System for Neologism Information Support in Real-Time Streaming Service)

  • 최근 실시간 스트리밍 서비스가 MZ 세대의 각광을 받고 있으며 시장 규모 또한 지속적으로 커지고 있다. 사전에 촬영된 영상, 편집된 동영상은 단방향적 커뮤니케이션의 모습만 보여주지만 이와 달리 양방향 통신인 실시간 스트리밍 서비스는 사용자의 질문이나 요구에 즉각적으로 대응할 수 있다는 데에 강점이 있다. 또한 COVID-19 팬데믹으로 인해 대면 문화에서 비대면 문화로 전환됨에 따라 수업, 회의, 기타 여가 활동 등을 실시간 영상으로 소통하는 이용자가 폭발적으로 증가하였다. 하지만 실시간 스트리밍 서비스가 활성화되며 다양한 세대가 참여함에 따라 신조어를 포함하여 서로 간의 언어 차이에 의한 갈등 상황이 생기는 문제점이 발생하였다. 이를 해결할 방안으로 본 논문에서는 위키피디아 API 를 활용하여 신조어의 뜻을 수집 후 출력하여 서로에게 확인시켜주는 방법을 통해 서로에게 의도를 파악하는 방법을 고안하였다.

뇌졸중 환자의 비손상측 대뇌겉질 운동영역에 적용한 반복 경두개 자기자극의 빈도가 팔 기능에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Differences Frequency of Repeated Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Applied to the Less Affected Contralesional Corticomotor Area on Upper Extremity Function in Patients with Stroke)

  • Purpose : In this study, we aimed to determine how frequencies different of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation applied to the less affected contalesional corticomotor area affect upper extremity motor function in patients with acute stroke within 3 months of onset. By doing so, we aimed to propose a new method of rTMS intervention based on the degree of damage and recovery status of the patient, rather than the generalized rTMS intervention that has been used uniformly. Methods : The rTMS intervention was applied on the contralesional side of the cerebral hemisphere damage. 15 subjects in the HF-rTMS group, 12 subjects in the LF-rTMS group, and 14 subjects in the SF-rTMS group were randomized to receive the rTMS intervention in each group for a total of 10 sessions on five consecutive weekdays for two weeks, and underwent FMA-U to determine changes in upper extremity function following the intervention in each group. FMA-U was performed within 24 hours before and after the rTMS intervention. Results : When the FMA-U was performed to determine the pre- and post-intervention changes in upper extremity motor function within the groups, no statistically significant differences were found in the SF-rTMS group before and after the intervention, but significant statistical differences were found in the HF-rTMS group (p=.006) and the LF-rTMS group (p=.020), with greater significance in the HF-rTMS group than the LF-rTMS group. Conclusion : This study confirmed that compensatory action by activating the less affected contralesional corticomotor area based on the bimodal balance-recovery model can support upper extremity recovery patients with acute stroke within 3 months of onset, depending on the degree of damage level and recovery status. Therefore, the results of the contralesional HF-rTMS application in this study may provide a basis for proposing a new rTMS intervention for upper extremity recovery in stroke patients.
