  • Some conclusions derived from the study are as follows : 1) Most conventional information retrieval systems require users do precisely that specify the information they require, but user's information needs are not always precise. 2) Information need arise from when users are in an anomalous stats of knowledge about some problem, so user's information needs are not always precise. 3) Information retrieval systems must assist to users make themselves correct, complement, and specify their information need. When information need arise, systems should understand the state of knowledge and will be design to present and specify their ill-defined potential information need. 4) Existing information retrieval techniques need a tool to complement current its disadvantages and to enhance retrieval efficiency. Browsing searching will be a role such as a tool. 5) Browsing searching can understand user's state of knowledge and assist to specify not only pre-searching information need but also changed information need during searching progress.

  • The present study extends previous research in this area by investigating perceptions of change and reactions to reform efforts by pre-service and practicing secondary school mathematics teachers in the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the United States of America. Interviews were used to gather data about school experiences, teaching practices, and planned changes in mathematics programs. Analysis of the interview data supported earlier findings with respect to the well-planned nature of lessons by PRC teachers and the influence of mathematics contents and examination systems in the PRC. Findings also indicated a general agreement among teachers from both countries favoring less lecturing and more discussion and interactive activities. There were contrasts by nationality in descriptions of future teaching, ideal lessons, sources of teaching ideas, and preferences about school mathematics programs.

  • Copper infiltration is demonstrated as a viable solution to achieve higher mechanical properties by filling the interconnected porosities of a ferrous structure with copper infiltrant. This paper will present the results of a design of experiments study based on the selected processing variables in the copper infiltration process. The variables are the following: Infiltrating temperatures, infiltrating time at pre-heat zone and hot zone, the green density of iron part, the migration of copper into the iron part at different processing conditions. The results show the flexibility of the infiltration process to attain certain mechanical properties by changing the processing conditions.

  • In order to alleviate the environmental pressure caused by production process of thermal power plants, the application of cleaner production is imperative. To estimate the implementation effects of cleaner production in thermal plants and optimize the strategy duly, it is of great significance to take a comprehensive evaluation for sustainable development. In this paper, a hybrid model that integrated the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) with least squares support vector machine (LSSVM) algorithm optimized by grid search (GS) algorithm is proposed. Based on the establishment of the evaluation index system, AHP is employed to pre-process the data and GS is introduced to optimize the parameters in LSSVM, which can avoid the randomness and inaccuracy of parameters' setting. The results demonstrate that the combined model is able to be employed in the comprehensive evaluation of the cleaner production in the thermal power plants.

  • High ductile fiber reinforced mortar suitable for wet-mix shotcreting (sprayable ductile mortar) 10 the fresh state, while maintaining tensile strain-hardening behavior in the hardened state, has been developed based on micromechanics and workability control. In the development concept of sprayable ductile mortar, micromechanics is adopted to properly select the matrix, fiber, and interface properties to exhibit strain hardening and multiple cracking behaviors in the composites. Within the pre-determined micromechanical constraints, the workability is controlled by optimizing mix proportions. A series of spray tests show the excellent pumpability and sprayability of the sprayable ductile mortar. Subsequent direct tensile tests demonstrate that the tensile performance of sprayed mortar is comparable to that of cast mortar, for the same mix design.

  • The article is devoted to the consideration of the methodological and general theoretical foundations of a rational methodology for teaching foreign language communicative competence of students of a non-linguistic university. The analysis of the vectors of research of problems of increasing the efficiency of the process of mastering foreign language communicative competence of non-linguistic students is presented. As a methodological basis for a rational methodology for teaching a foreign language communicative competence, the key aspects of the philosophy of rationality are considered, the basic principles of a rational methodology are formulated, linguo-didactic means of its implementation are determined, indicators of rationality are identified.

  • If private discipline replace the strict administrative regulation, fundamental rights of protective essence can be relativized while if may be beneficial for the individual freedom. Assigning the state power to the private organization is equivalent to giving up the practice of individual liberty to the organized authority. It is important to make use of public law mechanism, particularly under the imperfect juristic system. Regarding the prohibition of prior censorship, it is necessary to consider whether it is desirable to prioritize the freedom of speech over the rest of the legal benefit. Apart from this necessity, new advertisement screening mechanism was irreversibly - and controversially - introduced for the health functional food since the unconstitutional verdict of the prior screening of advertisements. With this, the state must secure the broad order through legal regulations and norms in order to freedom of speech and other legal benefit can be harmoniously and practically guaranteed.

  • This research explores the fall of pre-independence Sultanates and its continued political, economic, and cultural influence in post-colonial Indonesia. By using qualitative and historical methods, this paper compares the Sultanates of Mataram in Yogyakarta and Al-Kadrie in Pontianak, which represent different historical paths supporting the struggle for independence during the mid-20th century. Sultan Hamid II of the Al-Kadrie was a supporter of federalism whereas Sultan Hamengkubowono IX of Yogyakarta was an advocate of the republican system. Eventually, Indonesia became a Republic, and the idea of federalism was sidelined, which led to the abolition of sultanates in the rise of the = Indonesian nation-state, except for the Sultanate of Yogyakarta. After the 1998 Reform, the current development of democracy created political opportunities for the Al-Kadrie to reclaim its authority through engagement with various civic organizations. Meanwhile, the Sultanate of Yogyakarta faces internal friction because of succession concerns.

  • The most important aspect in preserving ancient paintings is to return the painting to the original state and conserve it in the original state. One traditional recovering method is the use of frame, for which scientific analysis such as X-rays, infrared and microscope are used and materials are carefully selected. Arhat, a Buddhist painting of Koryo Dynasty, one of the Korean National Museum collections has lost its original shape. With conservation treatment, the cause was found, that is to change frame scroll method to mounting method. In the main body, pre-analysis and conservation method of Arhat will be introduced.

  • Construction industry is one of the most significant sector in national economic, but the portion of construction has been falling regularly with the regional development. In spite of decrease in economic portion, role of construction industry does not changed irrespective of development, as the foundation of development. To distinguish each state of the maturity, countries are grouped on GDP per capita, than compared with variance of GVA in construction and GFCF per GDP as level of construction industry. GVAc% and GFCF% shows corn-shaped plotting in increase of GDP per capita, and each value converge to around 20% and 5% as GDP per capita increase. The definition of maturity is consist of 4 stages; pre-developing, ascending, stabilization, and maturement. Maturity of construction industry is a term of broad sense of construction industry that is easily to figure current state of regional construction and shows what normal condition of construction is in regional economy.
