While there is universal agreement that the ecosystems approach to family resource management is the must influential currently, questions have arisen about the broad applicability of the Deacon & Firebaugh (1988) ecosystems framework. Engberg (1996) has characterized the dominant approach in family resource management as technical and argued that a technical approach substantially restricts feasible actions in much of the world and should not be used in ethical practice. The purpose of the present paper is to compare the family resource management patterns by dual role manager of business owning families in Korea and The United States. Such a comparison is an essential step in the assessment of the usefulness of the Deacon & Firebaugh framework, in particular, and the ecosystems framework, more generally. Korean respondents are 105 family and business managers interviewed in 2000 as part of a survey of owners of small to medium size family business enterprises in Seoul. U.S. respondents are 259 dual role managers in the National Family Business Survey (NFBS 1997). Chi squared statistics indicated country differences on each of the ten(goal setting, standard setting, demand clarification, resource assessment, action sequencing, actuating, checking, adjusting, demand responses, resource change)management practices. Mean responses on eight of the practices(goal setting, standard setting, action sequencing, actuating, checking, adjusting, demand responses, resource changes) were significantly different between two countries. U.S. total score means of family resource management were higher than Korea. Factor analysis of the management scale items yielded different patterns for Korea, and the United States. Korean dual role manager of family business were categorized into three different patterns as classic oriented manager, goal oriented manager, action oriented manager and U.S. were categorized into Process oriented manager and Production oriented manager. Both the number of managerial strategies and the types of strategies used varied in the two countries.
The purpose of this study was to investigate consciousness about the disabled on dental hygiene students and search for course of dental hygiene education as oral health care with the disabled. The subjects in this study were 538 dental hygiene students from three college in Jeonnam province. For statistical analyses of collected data, the descriptive analyses and chi-square were adopted. The obtained results were as follows. Seniors showed positive attitude about the disabled and dental service of the disabled(p<0.05). The common types of contact the disabled were physical Cerebral palsy and inner disabled were rarely. The problems are difficulty in communication, short of clinical experience in dental service of the disabled, noncooperation of the disabled, short of knowledge in dental service of the disabled. To dental service of the disabled, demand as necessity of education was 87.5%, theory and practice at the same time was 68.0% in pattern of education. Finally, 49.5% of respondents observed special dental clinic to utilization pattern of dental service of the disabled.

Intentional aggressive driving (IAD) is defined as a hazardous driving event that the aggressive driver intentionally threatens neighbor drivers with abrupt longitudinal and lateral maneuvering. This study developed a methodology for detecting IAD events based on the analysis of interactions between aggressive driver and normal driver. Three major aggressive events including rear-close following, side-close driving, and sudden deceleration were analyzed to develop the algorithm. Then, driving simulation experiments were conducted using a multi-agent driving simulator to obtain data to be used for the development of the detection algorithm. In order to detect the driver's intention to attack, a relative evaluation index (Erratic Driving Index, EDI) reflecting the driving pattern was derived. The derived IAD event detection algorithm utilizes both the existing absolute detection method and the relative detection method. It is expected that the proposed methodology can be effectively used for detecting IAD events in support of in-vehicle data recorder technology in practice.
By studying the portions and layers(分部), left and right, superior and inferior, location of yin and yang, and beginning and end of diseases of skin, which is the core point of the theory of cutaneous region(皮部論) in "Naejing(內經)", in the physiological and pathological perspective, based on opinion of historic memorial doctors, arrived to the conclusion as below. Cutaneous region means not only the distribution of three yin and three yang(三陰三陽) of the surface, but also inside and outside, shallowness and depth, and it is the system which unites meridians, networks, and vessels. It is divided into portions and layers. The origin and beginning of diseases and the rule of favorable pattern and unfavorable pattern can be known through it. The portion of skin is not only the area that meridian vessels belongs to skin, but also the area that activation of twelve meridian vessels are expressed in the surface. The layer of skin is consisted in order of skin-tertiary collateral vessel-collateral vessel-meridian vessel-bone. In "Naejing", there are two preconditions to divide three yin and three yang into yin and yang. The first is standing while looking the south, and second is the quotation "outside is side of yang(外者爲陽 內者爲陰)." According to this preconditions, yang of outside of yang brightness, lesser yang, and greater yang is the whole body, except inside of hand and foot which yin of lesser yin, pericardium, and greater yin. Superior and inferior of the portions and the layers is designated as hand and foot, theological basis of which superior and inferior work in same diagnostic method can be found in the root and the basis(標本) and the origin and the insertion(根結). In conclusion, cutaneous region not only manages layer of the skin, but also it is divided into layers and portions, so it has close relations between meridian vessels and collateral vessels. The in-depth study of cutaneous region and meridians should be progress, in order to practice of diagnosis and acupuncture and moxibustion more.

Objectives : This study was accomplished in order to find out how Korean medical doctors take acupuncture prescription for knee osteoarthritis in clinical practice Methods : The survey questions were developed by the consensus from 4 professors and 10 residents who major in acupuncture & moxibustion for developing clinical trial protocol on individualized acupuncture treatment for knee osteoarthritis. 206 persons having more than 10 years experience were randomly selected from a list of Korean medical doctors. Telephone interviews with them were conducted by the well-trained interviewers between May 21 and May 27 in 2005. Results : 139 of 206 Korean medical doctors made an acupuncture prescription prior to treatment of knee osteoarthritis. 103 of 139 Korean medical doctors used both local and remote points, and 26 of them used remote points only, and 10 of them used local points only. In case of doctors who use remote points, the five element (45 of 129) or Saam (28 of 129) acupoints were used dominantly, and its was based on the pattern identification of the Jangbu organs related with the pain (56 of 129) or of the pain location (35 of 129). Conclusion : This study showed that Koran medical doctors prefer to use remote points such as five element or Saam acupoints based on the pattern identification of the Jangbu organs related with the pain or the pain location. These result may be useful for developing protocols for clinical trial on acupuncture on knee osteoarthritis.
This study deals with the following problems about leisure activity of young people and leisure guidance of mothers, (1) Leisure activity of children by the independent variables, (2) Leisure guidance of mothers by the independent variables. (3) The relation between leisure guidance of mothers and leisure activity of young people. This research used the questionaire survey. The subjects were 830 couples of mother and pupil (pupils of 4, 5 and t grades in six primary school in Kwang-Ju city). The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, t, F-test, X2. The results of this study are summarized as follows; (1) Boys and girls average leisure hours: week days…2 hour, saturday…3 hours, Sunday and holiday…4.5 hours, the school vacation…6.2 hours. And leisure activity showed the significant difference in sex, age, educational level, family form (p 0.001, p 0.05, p 0.010). Generally, they had social & amusing leisure activity. And a hindrance cause of leisure activ ty is due to hard working in learning practice. (2) The necessity of leisure activity showed higher in the aged mother and high educated mother, lower in the poor family. And guidance content showed the significant difference in sex of children(p 0.001), educational level of parents(p 0.05). Actually mothers wanted intellectual leisure activity. (3) The relation between the leisure activity pattern desired by leisure activity of mothers and children pattern showed that mothers demanded the various patterns, but children wanted social & amusing leisure activities mainly. Only children's patterns agreed with mothers in the artistic, intellectual, activities on Saturday and during the vacation. And the relation between mothers satisfaction degree in the leisure activity of children and children's satisfaction degree showed the significant difference (p 0.05). Children's satisfaction degree is high, irrespective of mothers satisfaction degree.

A new algorithm is presented which efficiently reports minimum width/space violation in a geometric mask pattern. The proposed algorithm solves a sequence of range search problems by employing a plane sweep method. The algorithm runs in O(n log n) time, where n is the number of edges in a mask pattern. Since a lower bound in time conplexity for reporting all minimum width/space violations is ${\Omega}$ (n log n), this algorithm is theoretically optimal within a constant multiplicaive factor. It requires O($n^{0.5}$) space which is very efficient in practice. Moreover, this algorithm, we believe, is easy to implement and practically fast (116.7 seconds for a rectilinear region with 250000 vertices ar VAX 8650.)
Purpose: Numerous investigators demonstrated that adaptative changes were induced by motor skill acquisition in the central nervous system. We investigated the changes of neuroelectric potential following motor learning with serial reaction time task in young healthy subjects, using electroencephalography (EEG). Methods: Twelve right-handed normal volunteers were recruited, who have no history of neurological dysfunction and were given to written the informed consent. All subjects were assigned to flex to extend the wrist joint or flex the thumb for pressing the matched button as quickly and accurately as possible, when one of five colored lights was displayed on computer screen (red, yellow, green, blue, white). EEG was measured, whenfive types simulations ware presented randomly with equal probabilities of 20% in total 200 times at the pre and post test. And they were scheduled for 30 minutes practice session during two consecutive days in the laboratory. Results: The results showed that the reaction time at the post test was significantly reduced, compared to one of the pre test in serial reaction time task. In EEG map analysis, the broaden bilateral activation tended to be changed to the focused contralateral activation in the frontoparietal area. Conclusion: These findings showed that acquisition of motor skill led to product more fast motor execution, and that motor learning could change cortical activation pattern, from the broaden bilateral activation to the focused contralateral activation. Thus we concluded that the adaptative change was induced by motor learning in healthy subjects.

Swampland is a potential alternative land to be used in various agricultural production activities in Indonesia, because Indonesia have 33.41 million hectares of swamp land that consists of 13.28 million hectares nontidal swamp and million hectares 20.13 tidal swamp. In the province of South Sumatra, because of unpredictable water level in the field before planting, farmers have been doing agronomic adaptation method through the delay time of transplanting and forced to apply more than one the nursery practice with the combination of a floating nursery method and a dry-bed nursery method. This study was aimed to (1) evaluate the seedling growth and tillering pattern of several popular Indonesian rice varieties, and (2) look for alternative technologies to get a better rice seedlings under two nursery methods in the nontidal swamp land. In the first experiment, the seedling growth characteristics of five rice varieties (Ciherang, Inpara 5, Inpara 9, Inpari 29, and Inpari 30) was evaluated by two methods of nursery, i.e. floating nursery and dry-bed nursery. In the second experiment, rice variety of Inpari 30 was treated with Zn seed priming and foliar fertilizer of 2,300 ppm N at the nursery stage. Those treatments were combined with the time of seedling under floating and dry-bed nursery. The results of the first experiment showed that of the five varieties tested, dry-bed nursery method showed better seedling growth than floating nursery. This was indicated by high leaf number, tiller number, tillers pattern, shoot-root ratio and relative growth rate. Ciherang and Inpari 30 showed high tiller number, and they had produced tertiary tiller in the sixth week of observation. Moreover, shorter period of floating and dry-bed nursery in combination with the treatment of Zn seed priming and spraying seedling with foliar fertilizer N could improve the growth of seedlings.
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: There are limited studies investigating the eating patterns of children's favorite foods. The present study aimed to evaluate a wide range of children's favorite foods, derive its eating patterns, and identify factors related to the patterns. SUBJECTS/METHODS: A nationwide cross-sectional study included 5,458 students in elementary, middle, and high schools. The survey was conducted at each school to evaluate children's favorite food intake, including the intake frequency of 31 food items or food groups, and its related factors, such as demographic, economic, and environmental characteristics and awareness of policies on children's favorite foods. Factor analysis using varimax rotation method and logistic regression analysis were conducted. RESULTS: Two factors were derived as major eating patterns from data of children's favorite foods: the 'unhealthy eating pattern' which mainly involves confectionery, chocolate, ramen, fried food, etc.; and the 'healthy eating pattern' which mainly involves soybean milk, vegetables, fruit juice, and nuts. A stepwise selection procedure through the regression analysis revealed that allowance, use of screen media, less awareness of policies on children's favorite foods, and less interest in health were positively related to the tendency of unhealthy or less-healthy eating patterns (P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: This study examined that the eating patterns of children's favorite foods were associated with certain environmental characteristics and awareness about the related policies. These findings suggest that a nutrition education program regarding children's favorite foods needs to be conducted according to the characteristics of students to develop their healthy eating habits and proper choice of favorite foods.
