  • Despite the numerous graduates being produced in practical music and history, which have not been shorter than 30 years, the employment of students remains an unsolvable task. Most graduates are employed by private institutes as music instructors or got involved in band activities, which are non-regular work and not stable. The rapid development of K-pop along with national strength has changed our lives as well. As a result, the cultural and artistic fields, which were previously recognized only as luxury, have rapidly become popular. In the form of learning, internalized and experiencing, not just watching has a huge impact on improving the quality of our lives. This is reflected in national policies including the operation of cultural arts, education programs in elementary, middle, and high schools, and art programs designed to improve the welfare of residents at local community centers. It is time to expand its job-horizon to the relevant fields, and thus focus on promoting programs related to obtaining certificates to help our students find jobs. In addition, the government should create a course for music teacher certification in the field of practical music that differs from the current music teacher certification of secondary schools. It is very urgent to establish the teaching course in four-year universities or graduate schools of practical music education.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an inquiry-based argumentation task for use in science teachers' professional development by providing them with the substantial experience of argumentation. To do so, the study has developed an argumentation task by utilizing the experiment on the Charles' Law of gas and revised by applying to eight teachers three times. We have revised the questions by analyzing three issues that have been revealed throughout this process in ways that facilitated teachers' argumentation. The effects of revision have been confirmed by the improvements in teachers' argumentation pattern. Three issues have been identified in developing argumentation tasks for science teachers' professional development and they are as follows: determining the openness of the structure of a question, achieving cognitive conflict and convergence of opinions at the same time, and ways of utilizing various evidence. As the task has been revised in ways that enabled scientific approach to the inquiry topic and facilitated the convergence of various opinions, the participants' argumentation patterns have improved both quantitatively and qualitatively. Meanwhile, the inclusion of an actual experiment has not influence their argumentation, while the observation of experimental data has been used as the core evidence according to the character of the problem. Based on the study's result, we suggest practical implications for developing argumentation tasks for science teachers in more varying contexts.

  • The object-oriented design methods and their CASE tools are widely used in practice by many real-time software developers. However, object-oriented CASE tools require an additional step of identifying tasks from a given design model. Unfortunately, it is difficult to automate this step for a couple of reasons: (1) there are inherent discrepancies between objects and tasks; and (2) it is hard to derive tasks while maximizing real-time schedulability since this problem makes a non-trivial optimization problem. As a result, in practical object-oriented CASE tools, task identification is usually performed in an ad-hoc manner using hints provided by human designers. In this paper, we present a systematic, schedulability-aware approach that can help mapping real-time object-oriented models to multi-threaded implementations. In our approach, a task contains a group of mutually exclusive transactions that may possess different periods and deadline. For this new task model, we provide a new schedulability analysis algorithm. We also show how the run-time system is implemented and how executable code is generated in our frame work. We have performed a case study. It shows the difficulty of task derivation problem and the utility of the automated synthesis of implementations as well as the Inappropriateness of the single-threaded implementations.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine, at the team level, the relationship between shared leadership and team work engagement and team psychological capital which have rarely been introduced into academic leadership research in Korea. This study tested the impact of shared leadership on team work engagement and the mediating role of team psychological capital between the two variables. And also, this study tested moderating role of task characteristics between shared leadership and team psychological capital. A total of 421 employees of 100 teams in 16 companies in South Korea participated in this study. The SPSS 23.0 statistical program was used in this study to analyze and statistically process the collected survey data. The result showed that high level of shared leadership positively influence team work engagement and team PsyCap works as mediator in the relationship between shared leadership and team work engagement. This results means that shared leadership is a crucial factor to facilitate team's psychological capital toward team's work engagement. However, Task characteristics had no moderating effect between shared leadership and team PsyCap. Finally, theoretical and practical implications of the study results have been discussed along with limitations and future direction of the study.

  • The problem of Metal Area Segmentation (MAS) in X-ray CT images is a very hard task because of metal artifacts. This research features a practical yet effective method for MAS in X-ray CT images that exploits both projection image and reconstructed image spaces. We employ the Relevant Neighbor Area (RNA) idea [1] originally developed for projection image inpainting in order to create a novel feature in the projection image space that distinctively represents metal and near-metal pixels with opposite signs. In the reconstructed result of the feature image, application of a simple thresholding technique provides accurate segmentation of metal areas due to nice separation of near-metal areas from metal areas in its histogram.

  • In this paper, we develop an indoor localization device which embeds localization information into indoor light-emitting-diodes (LED) lighting systems. The key idea of our device is the use of the newly proposed "bit stuffing method". Through the use of stuff bits, our device is able to measure signal strengths even in transient states, which prohibits interference between lighting signals. The stuff bits also scatter the parts of the signal where the LED is turned on, thus provides quality indoor lighting. Additionally, for the indoor localization system based on RSSI and TDM to be practical, we propose methods for the control of LED lamps and compensation of received signals. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is validated through experiments with a low-cost implementation including an indoor navigation task.

  • Last year, we introduced a TFT-LCD with RGBW color system. The primary advantage of the RGBW system is that its optical efficiency is at least 50% higher than the RGB system. However, it is not a simple task to incorporate the new color system into the infrastructure of the RGB system: the driving circuitry, fabrication of color filter, and color conversion. In this report, the practical hurdles are discussed and the solutions are presented.
