간호사의 골다공증 지식, 건강행위 자기효능감이 골다공증 예방간호수행에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Nurses' Osteoporosis Knowledge and Health Behavior Self-efficacy on Preventive Nursing Performance for Osteoporosis)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the influence of osteoporosis knowledge and health behavior self-efficacy on preventive nursing performance for osteoporosis. Methods: The participants of this study were 150 nurses working in 4 general hospitals. The data were collected during October 2019 using written questionnaires. General characteristics, osteoporosis knowledge, health behavior self-efficacy, and preventive nursing performance for osteoporosis were analyzed using means and standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis. Results: As a result of multiple regression analysis, the factors affecting preventive nursing performance included osteoporosis prevention education (β=.16, p=.034) and health behavior self-efficacy (β=.51, p<.001). The explanatory power of the model was 31.5%(F=10.94, p<.001). Conclusion: It was found that the experiences of osteoporosis prevention education and health behavior self-efficacy influenced preventive nursing performance for osteoporosis.

  • Purpose: This study aims to identify the knowledge, risk perception, fear, self-efficacy, and preventive behaviors among nursing students, and factors influencing preventive behaviors on COVID-19. Methods: Data was collected from March, 2022 to May, 2022. The participants included 218 nursing students in their 3rd and 4th grade of three universities in two cities. Results: The knowledge of COVID-19 was 13.54 out of 15 points, risk perception was 4.83 out of 8 points, fear was 13.26 out of 35 points, self-efficacy was 19.96 out of 25 points, and preventive behaviors were 7.56 out of 9 points. The explanatory power of self efficacy (β= .21, p= .002), which affects preventive behaviors was 67.0%. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop a systematic nursing intervention that improves self-efficacy to improve preventive behaviors against COVID-19 among students. This study's result can be used in the future to develop appropriate health policies and program to prevent emerging infectious diseases.

간호대학생의 자아존중감과 자기효능감이 자아탄력성에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Self-Esteem and Self-Efficacy on Ego-Resilience of Nursing Students)

  • 본 연구에서는 간호대학생의 자아존중감, 자기효능감, 자아탄력성의 관계를 확인하고 자아존중감과 자기효능감이 자아탄력성에 미치는 융복합적 영향을 파악하고자 하였다. 2016년 9월부터 2016년 11월까지 G시에 위치한 4년제 간호학과 학생을 대상으로 서면동의를 받아 247건의 자료를 수집하여 SPSS 22.0 Statistics Program을 이용하여 분석하였으며, 연구결과 자아존중감은 자기효능감, 자아탄력성과 순 상관관계를 보였으며, 자기효능감은 자아탄력성과 순 상관관계를 보였다. 또한 자아존중감, 자기효능감이 자아탄력성에 유의한 영향을 미치며, 59.2%의 설명력을 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 통해 간호대학생이 앞으로 임상 현장에서 경험하게 되는 다양한 스트레스 상황을 적절한 대처하고 적응하면서 전문직 간호역량을 높이기 위해 대학교육에서부터 자아존중감과 자기효능감을 증진시키려는 노력이 필요하다 여겨지며, 자아존중감과 자기효능감을 활용한 자아탄력성 향상 프로그램 개발과 적용이 요구된다.

  • A Plasma Display Panel with Double Pulse Memory was fabricated and its luminance and luminous efficacy were investigated. Application of non-discharge pulses to an auxiliary anode increased luminance by 43% and luminous efficacy by 33%. Compared to PDP with PPM(Planar Pulse Memory) driving technique, PDP with DPM obtained higher luminous efficacy and consumed lower power with the same delay time.

Effect of the Front Dielectric Layer on the Efficacy of the Plasma Display Panel

  • We investigated the effect of relative dielectric constant of front dielectric layer on the efficacy of plasma display panel. Dielectric materials with relative dielectric constant of around 6 and 7 were developed. When the front dielectric layer had a low relative dielectric constant, power consumption decreased more than luminance did. And it led to efficacy enhancement. However, the minimum sustain voltage increased.

예비 초등 교사의 고등학교 재학 시 진로 계열에 따른 과학적 자기 효능감이 과학 동기에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Pre-Service Elementary Teachers' Scientific Self-Efficacy by Science Motivation according to the Academic Track in High School)

  • 이 연구에서는 고등학교 재학 당시 진로 선택 계열에 따른 예비 초등 교사들의 과학적 자기 효능감과 과학 동기를 비교하고, 과학적 자기 효능감이 과학 동기에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 A 광역시 소재 교육대학교 2~4학년에 재학 중인 학생들로, 온라인 설문을 실시하여 총 525명의 응답 결과를 활용하였다. 응답한 예비 초등 교사 중 인문사회계열을 선택하였던 학생은 350명, 자연공학계열을 선택한 학생은 175명으로 구성되어 있다. 연구 대상으로부터 수집된 과학적 자기 효능감과 과학 동기에 대한 데이터는 독립표본 t-검증 및 효과 크기 분석, 다중 회귀 분석을 실시하여 분석하였으며, 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 인문사회계열과 자연공학계열을 선택한 예비 초등 교사들의 경우 두 검사의 모든 하위 요인에서 유의미한 차이가 나타났으며, 자연공학계열을 선택한 학생들의 평균이 유의미하게 높았다. 과학적 자기 효능감이 과학 동기에 미치는 영향에서 설명력은 66.7%, 68.3%가 나타났고, 인문사회계열을 선택하였던 예비 초등 교사들에게서 설명력이 더 높게 나타났다. 그리고 예비 초등 교사들의 과학 동기에 영향을 주는 과학적 자기 효능감의 하위 요인에서 상대적인 중요도는 인문사회계열을 선택하였던 예비 초등 교사들의 경우 과제곤란도선호가, 자연공학계열을 선택하였던 예비 초등 교사들의 경우 자기조절효능감이 가장 크게 나타났다. 따라서 예비 초등 교사들이 과학 관련 교과목에서 높은 성취와 동기를 얻고, 나아가 학교 현장에서 학생들에게 과학을 잘 가르치기 위하여, 과학적 자기 효능감을 향상시킬 수 있는 교육이 필요하다.

Comparison of the Therapeutic Efficacy and Technical Outcomes between Conventional Fixed Electrodes and Adjustable Electrodes in the Radiofrequency Ablation of Benign Thyroid Nodules

  • Objective: This study aimed to compare therapeutic efficacy and technical outcomes between adjustable electrode (AE) and conventional fixed electrode (FE) for radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of benign thyroid nodules. Materials and Methods: Between 2013 and 2021, RFA was performed on histologically proven benign thyroid nodules. For the AE method, AE length ≥ 1 cm with higher power and < 1 cm with lower power were utilized for ablating feeding vessels and nodules, especially those near anatomical structures, respectively. The therapeutic efficacy (volume reduction rate [VRR], complication rate, and regrowth rate) and technical outcomes (total energy delivery, ablated volume/energy, RFA time, and ablated volume/time) of FE and AE were compared. Continuous parameters were compared using a two-sample t-test or Mann-Whitney U test, and categorical parameters were compared using a chi-squared test or Fisher's exact test. Results: A total of 182 nodules (FE: 92 vs. AE: 90) in 173 patients (mean age ± standard deviation, 47.0 ± 14.7 years; female, 90.8% [157/173]; median follow-up, 726 days [interquartile range, 441-1075 days]) were analyzed. The therapeutic efficacy was comparable, whereas technical outcomes were more favorable for AE. Both electrodes demonstrated comparable overall median VRR (FE: 92.4% vs. AE: 84.9%, P = 0.240) without immediate major complications. Overall regrowth rates were comparable between the two groups (FE: 2.2% [2/90] vs. AE: 1.1% [1/90], P > 0.99). AE demonstrated a shorter median RFA time (FE: 811 vs. AE: 627 seconds, P = 0.009). Both delivered comparable median energy (FE: 42.8 vs. AE: 29.2 kJ, P = 0.069), but AE demonstrated higher median ablated volume/energy and median ablated volume/time (FE: 0.2 vs. AE: 0.3 cc/kJ, P < 0.001; and FE: 0.7 vs. AE: 1.0 cc/min, P < 0.001, respectively). Conclusion: Therapeutic efficacy between FE and AE was comparable. AE demonstrated better technical outcomes than FE in terms of RFA time, ablated volume/energy, and ablated volume/time.

Effects of Self-Efficacy and Job Stress on Organizational Commitment among Clinical Dental Hygienists

  • Background: This study aimed to provide basic data to establish a foundation for efficient operation of the organization by assessing the effects of self-efficacy and job stress (measured by self-efficacy, job demand, and job autonomy) on organizational commitment among clinical dental hygienists. Methods: This was a cross-sectional survey study that used a self-administered questionnaire to collect data. After institutional review board approval, a survey was conducted from January to May 2017, targeting dental hygienists working in dental clinics and hospitals. The final 199 questionnaires were analyzed with PASW 18.0 for Windows (IBM Corp.). The data were analyzed using mean and/or standard deviation t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The means for self-efficacy, job demand, job autonomy, and organizational commitment were $55.94{\pm}9.65$, $26.55{\pm}2.29$, $20.24{\pm}3.88$, and $49.49{\pm}8.39$, respectively. Along with self-efficacy, the other factors of organizational commitment among dental hygienists that were statistically significant included job autonomy, mean salary (2,500~2,990 thousand Korean won [KRW] and ${\geq}3,000$ thousand KRW), and employee welfare (good), which are sub-areas of the surface acting. In other words, it was found that the higher the mean salary, the better the employee welfare, the higher self-efficacy, and the higher the organizational commitment, and the explanatory power of the model was approximately 42.1%. Conclusion: These results suggest that the higher the self-efficacy, job autonomy, mean salary, and employee welfare, the higher the organizational commitment. In order to improve job demand among dental hygienists, it is necessary to establish an effective plan to improve job welfare, self-efficacy, and job autonomy.

지역에 거주하는 알코올의존 환자의 성별에 따른 사회적 문제해결력 영향요인 (Factors Affecting Social Problem-solving Ability of Community-residing Alcohol-dependent Patients: Focused on Gender Differences)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate factors affecting social problem-solving ability of alcohol-dependent patients with a focus on gender differences. Methods: Participants were 250 alcohol-dependent people(men 140, women 110) who were living in B, G and Y cities. Data were collected from January 10 to March 31, 2017 using self-report questionnaires. Abstinence self-efficacy, alcohol insight, unconditional self-acceptance, and social problem-solving ability were investigated. For data analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression were employed. Results: Factors influencing social problem-solving ability for men were unconditional self-acceptance and age. The explanatory power was 28%. Factors influencing social problem-solving ability for women were unconditional self-acceptance, stress, religiousness, age, occupation and abstinence self-efficacy and the explanatory power was 72%. Unconditional self-acceptance and age were significant variables of social problem-solving ability in both men and women. Stress, occupation, religiousness and abstinence self-efficacy were significantly associated with social problem-solving ability in women but not in men. Conclusion: The results suggest that it is necessary to consider gender characteristics in order to develop effective management programs for social problem-solving ability in alcohol-dependent people.

초임 특수교사의 교직생활 적응을 위한 임파워먼트 강화 효능성 탐색 (An Efficacy Exploration on Enforcing Empowerment for the Beginner Teachers' Adaptation in Special Education)

  • This paper explores the efficacy on enforcing empowerment for the beginner special education teachers' adaptation of teaching life. Empowerment is widespread public concern regarding the role of the teacher in decision made in the operation of schools. Therefore what is discussed to be definition, a central component and strategies of empowerment based upon the through literature review. Empowerment is defined in terms of teachers power to participate in decision making about teaching and learning condition, especially is related to disabilities. And Empowerment has six components, decision making, professional growth, status, self-efficacy, autonomy, and impact. When novice teachers in special education utilize self-empowerment strategy, they have the opportunities for greater status and increasing power.Finally, empowerment is at the heart of special education teachers' adaptation of teaching life. It is suggested that follow-up studies should be conducted to develop indicator for assessing what teachers in special education perceived their empowerment in overall work. Also higher education program must address this issue in pre-service training of administrators and teachers in special education.
