냉간가공과 열처리한 Ni 테이프에서의 집합조직 발달 (Texture development in cold-roiled and heat-treated Ni tapes)

  • Cube-textured Ni substrates for YBCO coated conductors were fabricated by cold-rolling and annealing of Ni powder compacts. To establish the optimum sintering temperature, tensile test was performed for the Ni rod sintered at various temperatures. The Ni rods prepared at above 100$0^{\circ}C$ showed good mechanical properties due to the complete densification of the Ni rods. The Ni rods were rolled to final thickness of 100 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and then annealed at 100$0^{\circ}C$ for various annealing time for texture development. The texture analysis made by 2 $\theta$ scan and pole-figure showed that the cube texture was developed in a short time of a few munitues. The FWHM of in-plane and out of plane texture of the prepared Ni tapes was 8-10$^{\circ}$. The AEM surface roughness of the Ni tapes was as smooth as 3 nm.

  • The decrease in surface roughness of work roll and steel strip in cold rolling of low carbon steel strip has been investigated by working distance, materials, total separating force and total reduction ratio. The main results are as follows; For the same lubricating conditions. 1) The changing of surface roughness of steel strip were similar to work roll. The transcription ratio is in inverse proportion to the carbon content of steel strip. 2) The surface roughness of steel strip is hardly change according to changing of total separating force and total reduction ration. 3) The wear of work rolls surface is more rapid in that case of continuous casted steel strip than ingot casted steel strip. The aluminium content dull powder adhere on the rolls surface, and so. It makes the mirror surface of work roll accelerate.

  • Among the various processing techniques used in HTS wire fabrication, the PIP(Powder In Tube) method is currently one of the most promising for applications on an industrial scale. In this study, we have fabricated Bi-2223/Ag superconducting tapes using the modified PIT process, where several process factors were changed and improved, ie., powder packing, drawing, rolling and heat treatment. We obtained Bi-2223 tape that have high critical current, 46 a at 77.3 K, have high critical current, 46A at 77.3 K, self field although the tape was not pressed but only rolled. The critical current of 100m class long length tape was measured 21.6A at the same criterion. Besides, the critical current of Bi-2223/Ag tape was measured applying magnetic fields with different directions at various temperatures.

  • The effect of annealing condition on the texture and microstructure development in Ni tapes fabricated by cold-rolling including powder metallurgy was investigated. The Pole-figure results showed that the Ni tapes annealed at lower temperature than 50$0^{\circ}C$ were the mixture of brass deformation texture and cube texture. The specimens annealed at high temperatures had only well-developed cube texture and the FWHMs of in-plane and out-of-plane were in the range of 8-10$^{\circ}$. The degree of texture was not significantly depended on annealing temperatures. The grain morphologies of Ni tapes prepared at low temperatures showed serrated grain boundaries due to incomplete recrystallization, but the specimens prepared at high temperatures showed stabilized grain shape without serrated grain boundaries.

  • TZM alloy having elongated coarse-grain structure was developed by three-step internal nitriding treatment at 1423 to 1873 K in $N_2$ and subsequent recrystallization treatment at 2173 K in vacuum. Some specimens were subjected to re-nitriding treatment at 1873 K for 16 h. After the recrystallization treatment, aspect ratio (L/W) of grains for rolling direction was about 50 at the maximum. Yield stress obtained at 1773 K after re-nitriding treatment was about 6 times as large as that of recrystallized specimen. Re-nitriding was very effective in the improvement in strength of TZM alloy having elongated coarse-grain structure.

  • We fabricated Ni and Ni alloy substrates for YBCO coated conductors. The Ni and Ni alloy substrate was fabricated by powder metallurgy technique and cold rolling. The texture of substrates had a strong 4-fold symmetry and [111]∥ND texture after annealing temperature of 100$0^{\circ}C$. The measured full-width half-maximum (FWHM) of in-plane and out-of-plane was in the range of 6$^{\circ}$-10$^{\circ}$. The powder metallurgy technique is fabrication of the substrates for considered to be suitable for the application of YBCO coated conductors.

  • Microstructure and phase transformation of mechanically alloyed TiNi powders added to aluminium matrix for enhancing the damping properties were studied. Four compositions between 48.5 and 51.5 at% Ti intermetallic compounds were selected to control the fraction of martensite phase. Mechanically alloyed TiNi powders were heat-treated at vacuum of $10^{-6}$ torr for crystallization. Ball milled AI/TiNi composite powders were swaged at room temperature and rolled at 450 $^{\circ}C$. After mechanical alloying for 10 hours, Ti and Ni elements were alloyed completely and amorphous phase was formed. Amorphous phase was crystallized to martensite (Bl9') and austenite(B2) after heat treating for 1 hour at the temperature of 850 $^{\circ}C$, and TiNi$_3$, intermetallic compound was partially formed. Considerable amount of martensite phase was remained after swaging and rolling.

  • Mechanical alloying under various gas atmospheres such as Ar, an Ar-$H_2$ mixture, and He gases were carried out, and its effects on the powder properties, microstructure and mechanical properties of ODS ferritic steels were investigated. Hot isostatic pressing and hot rolling processes were employed to consolidate the ODS steel plates. While the mechanical alloyed powder in He had a high oxygen concentration, a milling in Ar showed fine particle diameters with comparably low oxygen concentration. The microstructural observation revealed that low oxygen concentration contributed to the formation of fine grains and homogeneous oxide particle distribution by the Y-Ti-O complex oxides. A milling in Ar was sufficient to lower the oxygen concentration, and this led a high tensile strength and fracture elongation at a high temperature. It is concluded that the mechanical alloying atmosphere affects oxygen concentration as well as powder particle properties. This leads to a homogeneous grain and oxide particle distribution with excellent creep strength at high temperature.

탄소에어로젤 복합전극의 전기용량적 탈이온 공정 특성 (Characteristics of Capacitive Deionization Process using Carbon Aerogel Composite Electrodes)

  • 전기화학적으로 이온을 흡착시켜 이온을 제거하는 capacitive deionization(CDI)공정용 전극으로 탄소에어로젤에 실리카젤이 첨가된 다공성 탄소에어로젤 복합전극을 사용하여 1,000ppm NaCl수용액에서 탈염 특성에 대한 충전과 방전시 시간에 따른 전류 변화, CDI효율을 조사하였다. Paste rolling법으로 제조된 $10\times10cm^2$다공성 탄소에어로젤 복합전극은 촉매 분야에서 활용되고 있는 다공성 지지체인 실리카젤을 첨가함으로써 CDI 반응진행에 대한 전극활물질 탈락이 없이 전극의 성형성이 크게 향상되었고, 친수성과 전극의 기계적 강도 증가 및 CDI 효율을 증가시킬 수 있었다. 이러한 45개의 전극을 하나의 묶음으로 네 개의 단을 직렬연결 하여, CDI 시스템을 구성하였고 충전 시에는 1.2V, 방전 시에는 0.001V를 각각 10분간 인가하여 실험한 결과 $99\%$ 이상의 CDI 효율을 달성하였다.

Laser powder bed fusion 공정으로 제조된 오스테나이트계 316L 스테인레스 강의 고온 산화 거동 (High Temperature Oxidation Behavior of 316L Austenitic Stainless Steel Manufactured by Laser Powder Bed Fusion Process)

  • In this study, the high-temperature oxidation properties of austenitic 316L stainless steel manufactured by laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) is investigated and compared with conventional 316L manufactured by hot rolling (HR). The initial microstructure of LPBF-SS316L exhibits a molten pool ~100 ㎛ in size and grains grown along the building direction. Isotropic grains (~35 ㎛) are detected in the HR-SS316L. In high-temperature oxidation tests performed at 700℃ and 900℃, LPBF-SS316L demonstrates slightly superior high-temperature oxidation resistance compared to HR-SS316L. After the initial oxidation at 700℃, shown as an increase in weight, almost no further oxidation is observed for both materials. At 900℃, the oxidation weight displays a parabolic trend and both materials exhibit similar behavior. However, at 1100℃, LPBF-SS316L oxidizes in a parabolic manner, but HR-SS316L shows a breakaway oxidation behavior. The oxide layers of LPBF-SS316L and HR-SS316L are mainly composed of Cr2O3, Fe-based oxides, and spinel phases. In LPBF-SS316L, a uniform Cr depletion region is observed, whereas a Cr depletion region appears at the grain boundary in HR-SS316L. It is evident from the results that the microstructure and the high-temperature oxidation characteristics and behavior are related.
