  • To determine the satellite orbital positions under consideration of interference caused by inter-satellite systems is one of the most important issues in terms of optimal usage of satellite network resources. In this paper, we present the orbital positioning method for a new satellite to minimize inter-satellite system interference effect in the fixed satellite communication using a new method. Through the computer simulation, it is clear that the proposed method is suitable to determine the satellite orbital positions.

  • The author has evaluated the panoramic image of the mandibular condyle according to its horizontal condylar angle (0˚, 10˚, 20°, 30°, 40°) and mandibular position (standard, 25㎜ forward and reverse position). The results were as follows: 1. The larger the horizontal condylar angle was, the larger the horizontal magnification was in all positions. 2. In case of small horizontal condylar angle, profile view could be obtained in 25㎜ forward and reverse position. 3. In case of large horizontal condylar angle, profile view could not be obtained in any positions.

  • This paper is a production study of the effects of Korean prosody on two voiceless coronal fricatives /$s^h$/ and /s*/. The target segments were embedded in four prosodic positions: initial to the Intonational Phrase or the Accentual Phrase, and medial to the Accentual Phrase or to the Prosodic Word. Acoustic measurements showed that the durational differences associated with the /$s^h$/ versus /s*/ contrast vary in magnitude in different prosodic positions, confirming the proposal that segmental properties are affected by prosodic categories. This suggests that any speech synthesizer should take into consideration prosodically conditioned durational variation.

  • A new methodology is presented to diagnose faults in equipment plasma. This is accomplished by using neural networks as a pattern recognizer of radio frequency(rf) impedance match data. Using a realtime match monitor system, the match data were collected. The monitor system consisted mainly of a multifunction board and a signal flow diagram coded by Visual Designer. Plasma anomaly was effectively represented by electrical match positions. Twenty sets of fault-symptom patterns were experimentally simulated with experimental variations in process factors, which include rf source power, pressure, Ar and O$_2$ flow rates. As the inputs to neural networks, two means and standard deviations of positions were used ...

  • In this paper, we study the instantaneous geometric properties of motion of rigid bodies in the Lorentzian plane. For this purpose we define Lorentzian form of Bottemas instantaneous invariants. In these regards, we obtain the necessary and sufficient condition of a Lorentzian plane to be at Cardan position with respect to these invariants.

  • We consider the optimization problem of the geostationary satellite orbital positions. which is very fundamental and important in setting up the new satellite launching plan. We convert the problem into a discrete optimization problem. However, the converted problem is too complex to find an optimal solution. Therefore, we develope the solution procedures using simulated annealing technique. The results of applying our method to some examples are reported.

  • In the begining stage of development of a new automobile, decision of appropriate positions and room of resonators is important to NVH engineers. To find optimized positions of resonators of an automotive intake system, numerical approach such as acoustic FEM or BEM and experimental work are possible. However, either method requires many efforts and time to prepare a numerical or a real model. This research demonstrates easy way to design an adequate intake system.

  • In Current Digital $C^3$ Devices(Communication, Computer, Consumer electronic devices), Reed-Solomon encoder is essentially used. For example we should use RS encoder in DSP LSI of CDMA Mobile and Base station modem, in controller LSI of DVD Recorder and that of computer memory(HDD or SSD memory). In this paper, we propose new economical multiplierless (also without divider) RS encoder design method. The encoder has Arbitrary parity positions.

  • A CUSUM control chart was used to monitor semiconductor plasma equipment. The performance of plasma monitoring was evaluated with various combinations of design variables involved in CUCUM control chart. Experimental data collected by using a real-time matching monitoring system include electrical positions of impedance and phase positions, and reflected power. The evaluation revealed that by determining specific design variables plasma states could be more strictly monitored.
