The purpose of this study is to understand the current status of high school students' exposure to pornographic materials as well as to provide basic data to develop sex education programs. This study was conducted through a self-administered questionnaire survey of 774 students of six high schools in Seoul, three boys' and three girls' respectively, from August 22 to August 25, 2000. This study shows that high school students' exposure to pornographic materials such as CD-ROMs, internet, video tapes and adult movies has become very serious. The results of this study are as follows. 1. Among the students surveyed, $23.5\%$ of them currently has opposite-sex friends, while $42.2\%$ used to have and $34.2\%$ has never had opposite-sex friends. 2. $55.3\%$ of the students pick up their sexual knowledge from their friends, followed by mass media $(47.5\%),\;school (21.1\%),\;adult\; magazines (17.1\%)\;, internet (14.1\%)$, pornography visual $materials (11.5\%),\; sexual\; books (3.6\%)$ and pornography printed $materials (2.4\%).$ 3. Regarding the frequency of sexual education taken in school, $54.2\%$ of the students answered 'often', while $37.6\%$ answered 'almost none', 'several times' $(4.4\%)$, 'never' $(2.9\%)$ and 'frequently' $(0.9\%)$, respectively. Regarding sexual education at home, $42.2\%$ answered 'almost none', followed by 'never' $(36.3\%)$, 'often' $(16.3\%)$, 'several times' $(3.3\%)$ and 'frequently' $(1.8\%)$, respectively. 4. $68.2\%$ of the students have been exposed to adult movies, followed by pornography videos $(60.1\%)$, internet chatting $(50.2\%)$ and pornography computer diskettes $(38.0\%)$. 5. There is also an interrelation between the amount of students' pocket money and the degree of their exposure to pornographic materials. 10. There is an interrelation between the degree of their adaptation to school life and the degree of their exposure to pornographic materials. 11. It appears that there is an interrelation between their parents' relations with them and the degree of the students' exposure to pornographic materials. 12. There is a significant difference in the degree of their exposure to pornographic materials in accordance with their residential area. 13. There is also a significant difference in the degree of their exposure to pornographic materials in accordance with the average income of their families. 14. There is also a significant difference in the degree of their exposure to pornographic materials in accordance with the mean sexual education at home.
The purpose of this study was to contribute to adolescents'welfare by investigating an actual condition of harmful environment and finding helpful ones. A total of 1125 questionnaires were used for the final data analysis. The study revealed the following results. 1. When it comes to spatial environment, adolescents go to PC rooms most frequently among facilities. They showed that the degree of use of harmful facilities is extremely low. The study revealed that frequency of exposure to harmful environment can be reduced more efficiently if adolescents are made to realize the harmfulness than when they are simply made to follow strict regulations. Significant differences were found in spatial environment according to gender and residence. 2. When it comes to informational environment, TV had an enormous influence on adolescent and they were exposed to computer at an early stage than expected. The frequency to see pornography was on the higher increase than ever, which showed outstanding difference according to gender. Also, pornography was mainly spread through friends.

This study focuses on "Intellectual Freedom" based on the fundamental principles of library services. Particularly, this paper pursues to the legal foundations of "the freedom of expression". The American Library Association celebrates "the Banned Books Week" to draw attentions to the danger of banned books and censorship. This study also studies how "the banned books" are made by pursuing the definitions of "pornography" and "obscenity" in terms of the court's opinions of The Supreme Court of the United States and Korea. Recently, the top three reasons for the "banned books" are considered to "be sexually explicit", "contain offensive language" and "be unsuitable to age groups".
We investigated the ecological variables of adolescent sexual behavior. We grouped the behaviors into organism, microsystem, mesosystem, and exosystem. The variables belonging to the organism group were sexual attitude, sex, grade, sexual knowledge, sexual education, dating experience, problem behaviors, and self-control. The microsystem variables included the parent-adolescent communication about sexuality, parental monitoring, parent educational background, friend relationships, and school environment. Moreover, the mesosystem variables included family-peer and family-school relationships. The exosystem variables were comprised of neighborhood environment and pornography. The study group included 369 adolescents from the first and second grade of several high school in Daegu, Korea. We found that the factors affecting adolescent sexual behavior included grade, sex, dating experience, self-control, smoking, and pursuing sexual pleasure. As well, contact with deviant friends, father-adolescent communication about sexuality, school type, and attachment to teacher. In addition the family-peer relationship also affected adolescent's sexual behaviors as well as pornography and neighborhood environment. Lastly the variable belonging to the organism group was found to have the greatest effect on adolescent, sexual behavior compared to the other variables.
With the development of cyberspace and its increasing interaction with our daily lives, cybercrime has been steadily increasing in recent years and has become more prominent as a serious social problem. Notably, the "four major malicious cybercrimes" - cyber fraud, cyber financial crime, cyber sexual violence, and cyber gambling - have drawn significant attention. In order to minimize the damage of cybercrime, it's crucial to delve into the specifics of each crime and develop targeted prevention and intervention strategies. Yet, most existing research relies on indirect data sources like statistics, victim testimonials, and public opinion. This study seeks to uncover the characteristics and factors of cybercrime by directly interviewing suspects involved in 'copyright infringement', 'gambling' related to illicit online content, and 'pornography crime'. Through coding analysis and text mining, the study aims to offer a more in-depth understanding of cybercrime dynamics. Furthermore, by suggesting preventative and remedial measures, the research aims to equip policymakers with vital information to reduce the repercussions of this escalating digital threat.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe high-risk health behaviors in middle school adolescents and to identify factors related to this behavior. Method: This survey study employed a self administered questionnaire given to 621 students enrolled in one middle school located in Gyeonggi province. Using the cluster sampling method, 4 classes from the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades were selected. The survey was done between April 20 and May 19, 2004. Data were analyzed using SAS. Result: The results showed that 19.1% of adolescents smoked cigarettes and 8.4 % drank regularly. The mean score for resilience was 6.92 (range:0-10) and for depression, 23.62 (range:0-50). The adolescents in higher grades reported significantly more experience with pornography. Also, adolescents who reported have fewer conversations with their parents had significantly more experience with pornography. Depression was significantly higher for those students who had better academic skills and higher family income. Resilience level was significantly higher for the students who reported better schools records and higher family income. The most important factor related to the high risk behaviors, depression, and resilience was conversations with parents. Conclusion: This study suggests that to develop an effective high-risk health behavior prevention program for adolescents, it is necessary to include communication skills with the parents.

The aims of this study were to identify the significant predictors of the sexual behavior of middle school students. The subjects consisted of 603 middle school students (male 344, female 259). The data was collected through self-report questionnaires, which were constructed to include the attitudes to sexual behavior, sexual permissiveness, perceived behavioral control, sexual behavioral intention, father's child-rearing attitudes, mother's child-rearing attitudes, friends' attitudes to sex, exposure to pornography, and sexual behavior. The data was analyzed using the SPSS 19.0 program. The significant predictors of sexual behavior of middle school students that explained 51.0% of the variance in sexual behavior were the friends' attitudes to sex, alcohol drinking experience, experience of sexual abuse, sexual permissiveness, exposure to pornography, sexual behavioral intention, perceived behavioral control, father's child-rearing attitudes, and mother's child-rearing attitudes. These findings suggest that the approach to a sexual education promotion program for middle school students should consider multisystemic predictors.
