In the German federal election in 2021, the Social Democrats returned to power by a narrow margin and the Green Party emerged as the biggest winner. The two political parties took the lead by proposing policies that met the expectations of the people in the policies of climate and environment, pandemic response and health, and labor and social security. The Merkel effect did not play a significant role in the election, and it is highly likely that it will lead to government policy after the formation of a coalition. While the class cleavage in voting behavior has weakened, the generational cleavage has grown relatively large. Older people showed more support for the two major parties, while younger people showed higher support for the Green Party and the FDP. If the generational cleavage continues, it can be linked to the growth of the Green Party and the FDP, the continued weakening of the two major parties and the emergence of other new parties. In addition, the regional cleavage between the former East and West Germany still remain, which will affect the direction of the AfD and the Left and combine with other political cleavages. The 2021 German federal election can be said to be an election that heralds the realignment of the political party system.

The purpose of this paper is to make a critique of racial aspects of Caribbean literature more ethical through a constant concern with history and political philosophy. The first step I take for this purpose is a comparative reading of C. L. R. James's view of Toussaint L'Ouverture's position and Frantz Fanon's view of race and class in the historical context of the Caribbean power-relations. In so doing, I examine how Toussaint's and Fanon's wills to negotiation were thwarted in the New World history. To elaborate upon this ethico-political approach, I have recourse to the so-called later Derrida, focusing on his books, such as The Politics of Friendship, Of Hospitality, On Cosmopolitanism and Forgiveness, etc. Taking an up-close look at Derrida's thought, I argue that his political contemplation of ethics is as effective as his deconstruction of "otherness" in dealing with the nature of ethnic clashes in both the real world and minority literature. In the second half of my paper, I reexamine the issues of race, gender, and class in the three novels of Jamaica Kincaid - Annie John, Lucy, and The Autobiography of My Mother. It is conceivable that from the feminist perspective Kincaid's fiction has been read as a postcolonial Bildungsroman. In my supplementary attempts to this criticism, I reveal that the teenage narrator's precocious awareness is still under the colonial influence in the Annie John section. My analysis of Lucy contends that the reasons why the white woman fails to make friends with the young black woman should be sought in the long history of the U.S. racial politics. In the section of The Autobiography of My Mother, I discuss how difficult it is for a minority woman to liberate from the spell of history insofar as she is engaged in the issue of identity. In closing, I pose a need of consolation that literature may grant us by becoming able to produce a different interpretation on all the bleaker reality.

Lakoff's (2002) 'nation-as-family' metaphor suggests that conservatism and liberalism in the United States are based respectively on two different sets of morality, i.e., "strict father" morality and "nurturant parents" morality. He argues that values associated with respective metaphors and political principles derived from them tend to determine certain political attitudes and policy endorsement. Using the priming technique, this study attempted to examine whether "strict father" and "nurturant parents" morality are indeed what underlie very different positions conservatives and liberals take towards people in need. The results supported the Lakoff's idea and demonstrated that, compared to priming "nurturant parents" morality, priming "strict father" morality actually led people to derogate character of those in need and to attribute more responsibility onto them for their economic predicament. This research leads us to reconsider what constitutes politically conservative and liberal attitudes and emphasizes the malleability of political attitudes.

This study examines how individual attitudes towards government and society are affected by political conservatism and liberalism. With survey data from 533 adults(M=249, F=284) who live in Seoul and surrounding areas, we examine the general attitudes towards society, expectation on general government and differences in attitudes towards the Roh Moo-hyun Gov't and the Lee Myung-bak Gov't between liberals and conservatives. Results show that liberals and conservatives vary by age and residence, whereas attitudes towards the general government and society are not. By contrast, liberals and conservatives are distinctly different evaluating governments with specific political tendency. Liberals are more positive to the Roh Moo-hyun Gov't than conservatives whereas the evaluation appears conversely on the Lee Myung-bak Gov't. These differences of attitudes are more distinctive when dividing liberals and conservatives by subjective judgement and political party preference than conceptual measurement of political ideology. These findings suggest that political conservatism and liberalism is the factor that has powerfully affected individual attitudes in the specific political context rather than a consistent ideological framework in Korean society.

The measurement of women's unpaid work is one of the important issues for the improvement of women's status and establishment of a women policy. The purpose of this study is to measure of household production of housewife and to estimate the ratio to GDP. And to emphasize the political meaning of housework The results are as follow; 1) The monetary value of housework of one housewife in 1995 was 783,050won by opportunity cost method . 2) The ratio of household production to GDP 1995 was approximately 16.5%.

Libraries and information centers are no different from any other institutions in our society. Today, their managers have to make many more decisions which have certain legal implications than before. The ignorance of the law on their parts can not be an acceptable excuse anymore, since. the consequences sometimes maybe quite serious. This paper outlines some important legal issues involved in the services and management of libraries and information centers. They are: constitutional rights on human knowledge activities: library act and it's related laws; censorship and right to know; information access and the protection of privacy: library services and copyright law; labor relations; protections of the people and properties of the institutions, etc. The laws are not static: rather, they change with the social, political and technological environments. The managers, as well as the staff members of libraries and information centers should be constantly updated with the changes in the field, in order to give the maximum service to the clients and to prevent any infringement of the laws, which may discredit their services and the institutions.

The reasons to attend Alternative Schools are : to compensate for the discontent over what is locally taught in state schools and to improve the students' satisfaction and social emotional development. In 2006, it was estimated that about a thousand Home Schools were set up. With the studies of Alternative Education and Home Schooling, the issues are : 1) the depth study of curriculum of Alternative Education with a wide range of subjects, 2) the institutionalization of Home Schooling, 3) educational methods for Home Schooling, 4) a research on Home Schooling's effectiveness. Their practical and political issues are : 1) to give the licence to the rest of schools and to formulate Education Law on Home Schooling, 2) to obtain government's financial support to the both sections, 3) to support a system of instructional contents and methods of Home Schooling, and 4) to select, share and popularize the best practices of Home Schooling.

Objectives: This study reviews literature on health literacy and provides communication guidelines and policy implications for addressing health literacy for the Korean population. Methods: EBSCOHost, JSTOR, ProQuest, Web of Science, and PubMed were searched using the term "health literacy." The present study also reviewed reports and publications released by governments and healthcare agencies. Results: By reviewing existing articles and reports, the present study provides following suggestions : (a) implementation of a national health literacy survey on a regular basis, (b) development of tailored health literacy interventions for different target segments, (C) development of an appropriate model to evaluate the effectiveness of health literacy programs, and (d) development of health literacy guidelines for distributing health information and educating healthcare professionals. Conclusions: Health literacy issues must be addressed through establishment of appropriate policies and guidelines as well as collaboration between government and healthcare organizations.

The purpose of this case study is to discuss the issues and challenges pertaining to industrial safety. The case study begins with the shocking incident of the brutal killing of top-executive of the company by agitated workers. Inspite of having conducive environment for business, Italian subsidiary Robusto Muro Ltd had to confront industrial Relations issues at an incredible and unprecedented level. Management perspective, workers viewpoint, competitors approach and diplomatic comments by political bigwigs have also been incorporated so that the students may have 3-dimensional understanding of the scenario. The case of such genre will facilitate the students to comprehend and discuss the employee-employer relationship and industrial safety, in particular and industrial relations and IR machinery, in general.

To consider business-based requirements beyond the existing roles of water supply, water utilities need enough methodology to integrate lots of related issues and to introduce effective decision-makings. On these grounds, this study modeled and simulated water business system using system dynamics approach. It is expected that formalised model can describe the actual system structurally and statistically, help utilities to predict their business performance and make decisions to solve chronic issues. Moreover, the case study of Y city gave political measures objectively and practically.
