Video streaming over wireless networks is challenging due to node mobility and high channel error rate. In this paper, we propose a multi-source video streaming (MUVIS) system to support high quality video streaming service over IEEE 802.1l-based wireless networks. We begin by collocating a streaming proxy with the wireless access point to help leverage both the media server and peers in the WLAN. By tracking the peer mobility patterns and performing content discovery among peers, we construct a multi-source sender group and stream video using a rate-distortion optimized scheme. We formulate such a multi-source streaming scenario as a combinatorial packet scheduling problem and introduce the concept of asynchronous clocks to decouple the problem into three steps. First, we decide the membership of the multisource sender group based on the mobility pattern tracking, available video content in each peer and the bandwidth each peer allocates to the multi-source streaming service. Then, we select one sender from the sender group in each optimization instance using asynchronous clocks. Finally, we apply the point-to-point rate-distortion optimization framework between the selected sender-receiver pair. In addition, we implement two different caching strategies, simple caching simple fetching (SCSF) and distortion minimized smart caching (DMSC), in the proxy to investigate the effect of caching on the streaming performance. To design more realistic simulation models, we use the empirical results from corporate wireless networks to generate node mobility. Simulation results show that our proposed multi-source streaming scheme has better performance than the traditional server-only streaming scheme and that proxy-based caching can potentially improve video streaming performance.

As an useful water purification system for non-point source pollution in rural watersheds, interests in constructed wetlands are growing at home and abroad. It is well known that constructed wetlands are easily installed, no special managemental needs, and more flexible at fluctuating influent loads. They have a capacity for purification against nutrient materials such as phosphorus and nitrogen causing eutrophication of lentic water bodies. The Constructed Wetland Design Model (CWDM), developed through this study is consisted mainly of Database System, Runoff-discharge Prediction Submodel, Water Quality Prediction Submodel, and Area Assessment Submodel. The Database System includes data of watershed, discharge, water quality, pollution source, and design factors for the constructed wetland. It supplies data when predicting water quality and calculating the required areas of constructed wetlands. For the assessment of design flow, the GWLF (Generalized Watershed Loading Function) is used, and for water quality prediction in streams estimating influent pollutant load, Water Quality Prediction Submodel, that is a submodel of DSS-WQMRA model developed by previous works is amended. The calculation of the required areas of constructed wetlands is achieved using effluent target concentrations and area calculation equations that developed from the monitoring results in the United States. The CWDM is applied to Bokha watershed to appraise its application by assessing design flow and predicting water quality. Its application is performed through two calculations: one is to achieve each target effluent concentrations of BOD, SS, T-N and T-P, the other is to achieve overall target effluent concentrations. To prove the validity of the model, a comparison of unit removal rates between the calculated one from this study and the monitoring result from existing wetlands in Korea, Japan and United States was made. As a result, the CWDM could be very useful design tool for the constructed wetland in rural watersheds and for the non-point source pollution management.
This research categorized EIA target highways into following three types in order to minimize non-point source pollution from highway runoff. 1. Big drainage basin. 2. Small drainage basin. 3. Bridge section. The Natural, Filter and Swirl-Type devices were evaluated in terms of removal efficiency of TSS, BOD, COD, T-N, T-P, compatibility of site selection, economic feasibility, and maintenance convenience through which the final BMP was selected. According to the removal efficiency result, the area of Big and Small Drainage basin and bridge section had higher removal efficiency with natural facility than that of the Filter or Swirl-Type device. To make appropriate selection of highways'BMP for non-point source pollution, this study will aim to contribute to building more environmentally friendly highways by proposing the selection process that is made of 5 stages. 1. Selecting the target drainage basin. 2. Selecting the land for the mitigation facility. 3. Analysing the ease of maintenance. 4. Technically evaluating each installation. 5. Evaluating the effective implementation methods.
Non-point source pollutants in down stream of Nakdong river were simulated by SWAT. GIS was utilized to make input data of SWAT such as landuse pattern and soil. Meteorological data of 2007 and 2009 were applied for the calibration and validation of runoff in SWAT. It was difficult to calibrate and validate the runoff and nutrient results since a study area was influenced by the tidal effects. Jindong site was selected to escape from the bias of runoff simulation in the coastal area. $R^2$ values of calibration and validation were 0.8 and 0.79. However, $R^2$ values of water qualities were very low level in comparison to runoff. These resulted from the concentration scale of water qualities such as BOD, T-N and T-P. Additionally, tidal influence could effected on the measurements of nutrients. The simulated annual averages and patterns of BOD, T-N and T-P in SWAT were similar to the measurement data. 80 ~ 96 % of nonpoint source pollutants at Nakbon M site were released from April to August of 2009. The ratio of T-N and T-P from nonpoint source were above 50 % during the rainy season.

A study on the hybrid micro power source for the IMT2000 application has been presented. The hybrid micro power source is composed of solar cell, super-capacitor and battery. To compensate for the pulse loader of the IMT2000 application, the super-capacitor is connected through the lithium-lon battery to absorb the pulse discharge current. The solar cell provides the additional current to compensate for the depleted current and it is controlled to operate at the maximum power point voltage. A novel maximum power point tracking method is presented to operate at the pulse discharge load conditions and verified to have superior tracking performance through experiment. The controller design for the hybrid micro power source has been presented and verified through experiment.

In order to evaluate the effect of blasting vibration in buildings and it's resident located around blasting construction field in urban area, blasting vibration characteristics were measured the vibration level, vibration velocity. The 250g and 750g of charged powder were used at the apartment and at the ground, respectively. In the measurement of the ground, Z(perpendicularity) axis was the highest value in vibration level, but vertical axis was the highest value at 25m point and longitudinal axis was the highest value at 50m point in vibration velocity. The amount of measurement was high value when measuring point is higher than blasting source, while that of measurement was low value when measuring point is lower than blasting source. In the measurement of the apartment, 2 axis was the highest value in vibration level, but in vibration velocity transverse axis was the highest value at ground, was vertical axis at 1st floor, was longitudinal axis at 3rd floor and was vertical and longitudinal axis at 5th floor. The vibration level and the vibration velocity of 50m point showed higher correlation value than 25m point at the ground, but those of 25m point showed higher correlation value than 50m point at the apartment.

In this study, the characteristics of non-point source pollution runoff and the possibility of using new unit load were investigated by using pollutant load based on monitoring data considering baseflow. For this purpose, the components of hydrograph were separated by using digital filter method and the numerical integration method was applied to calculate the non-point source pollutant load for nine rainfall events in Juwon river in the Geum River basin. As a result of this study, the mean contribution rate of non-point pollutant was 31.34% for BOD, 58.94% for T-N, and 50.42% for T-P and BOD was more influenced by baseflow pollutant. Also, it was analyzed the pollutant load using the new unit load is closer to the observation load than the old unit load. This result implies that it is necessary to manage not only pollutant load due to direct runoff but also pollutant load due to baseflow runoff for efficient water quality management of the watershed.
Recently the water quality management policy gives priority to management the point source. Non-point pollution source is difficult to comprehend because those don't have certain outflow point and emission. There are many development and research about BMPs for manage the Non-point pollution source. Various methods of removal efficiency are presented for assessment of Best Management Practices (BMPs). In this study, retention time have effect on removal efficiency based on monitoring results of Grassed Swale is studied. Also, Compare a difference according to various methods of Grassed Swale removal efficiency. The result of removal efficiency analysis depending on retention time of Grassed Swale, removal efficiency is higher as retention time increases. To obtain a stable removal efficiency of Grassed Swale, retention time of Grassed Swale should be secure.

This study was performed to figure out what would be effective to maintain good water quality in the retention pond which was badly polluted before. In order to keep the good water quality of the retention pond it is necessary to prevent outer non-point source pollutants from flowing into the pond. In this study, we proposed to use porous slag as a blockage of the inflow into the pond from external non-point sources. We experimented with porous slag nets to see how the water is effected. With the results of the experiments, we found out there is a close correlation($r^2=0.9765$) between contact time and the removal rate of phosphorus, therefore we can conclude that contact time affects removal rate greatly. Synthetic wastewater, activated sludge effluent, and sewage were passed through a porous slag packed bed, both phosphorus and the suspended solid in water were removed highly. With the results of these tests, we proposed to set up a porous slag packed bed inside of the retention pond and revetment to prevent external non-point source pollutants flowing into the retention pond.
