CAE Solid Element Mesh Generation from 3D Laser Scanned Surface Point Coordinates

  • A 3D solid element mesh generation algorithm was newly developed. 3D surface points of global rectangular coordinates were supplied by a 3D laser scanner. The algorithm is strait forward and simple but it generates hexahedral solid elements. Then, the surface rectangular elements were generated from the solid elements. The key of the algorithm is elimination of unnecessary elements and 3D boundary surface fitting using given 3D surface point data.

  • A 110 mm diameter aspheric metal secondary mirror for a test model of an earth observation satellite camera was fabricated by ultra-precision single point diamond turning (SPDT) .   • In the point of the Eco-concrete(Environmentally Friendly Concrete), it is very important to reduce the pH of high porous concrete by the pH to be able to grow plants, because the pH of concrete is l1~13. But the method of measuring the pH of high porous concrete is not well-defined, yet. Therefore, first, this paper report the method of measuring the pH of high porous concrete. Secondly this paper reports the pH reduction of high porous concrete to grow plants.

  • The motion estimation is the most important technique in the image compression of the video standards. In the case of next generation standards in the video codec as H.264, a high compression-efficiency can be also obtained by using a motion compensation. To obtain the accurate motion search, a motion estimation should be achieved up to 1/2 pixel and 1/4 pixel uiuts. To do this, the computational complexity is increased although the image compression rate is increased. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the advanced sub-pixel block matching algorithm to reduce the computational complexity by using a statistical characteristics of SAD(Sum of Absolute Difference). Generally, the probability of the minimum SAD values is high when searching point is in the distance 1 from the reference point. Thus, we reduced the searching area and then we can overcome the computational complexity problem. The main concept of proposed algorithm, which based on TSS(Three Step Search) method, first we find three minimum SAD points which is in integer distance unit, and then, in second step, the optimal point is in 1/2 pixel unit either between the most minimum SAD value point and the second minimum SAD point or between the most minimum SAD value point and the third minimum SAD point In third step, after finding the smallest SAD value between two SAD values on 1/2 pixel unit, the final optimized point is between the most minimum SAD value and the result value of the third step, in 1/2 pixel unit i.e., 1/4 pixel unit in totally. The conventional TSS method needs an eight.. search points in the sub-pixel steps in 1/2 pixel unit and also an eight search points in 1/4 pixel, to detect the optimal point. However, in proposed algorithm, only total five search points are needed. In the result. 23 % improvement of processing speed is obtained.

  • 입자상 알루미늄 충전복극조의 성능을 파악할 목적으로 실험은 회분식과 연속식으로 진행하였다. 입자상 알루미늄 충전복극조를 이용하여 T-P 농도 10 mg/L인 인산염 함유 용액을 6 V에서 3 h 회분식으로 전해처리 한 결과 T-P의 제거율은 88% 이었다. 입자상 알루미늄 충전복극조를 이용하여 T-P 농도 10 mg/L인 인산염 함유 용액을 6 V에서 HRT를 3 h으로 하여 연속식으로 전해처리 한 결과 T-P의 농도는 2 mg/L이었다. HRT 3 h으로 고정하여 전해처리 할 경우 120 h 처리 후 파과점을 관찰할 수 있었다.

Real-Time System Design and Point-to-Point Path Tracking for Real-Time Mobile Robot

  • In this paper, a novel feasible real-time system was researched for a differential driven wheeled autonomous mobile robot so that the mobile robot can move in a smooth, safe and elegant way. Least Square Minimum Path Planning was well used for the system to generate a smooth executable path for the mobile robot, and the point-to-point tracking algorithm was presented as well as its application in arbitrary path tracking. In order to make sure the robot can run elegantly and safely, trapezoidal speed was integrated into the point-to-point path tracking algorithm. The application to guest following for the autonomous mobile robot shows its wide application of the algorithm. The novel design was successfully proved to be feasible by our experiments on our mobile robot Interactive Robot Usher (IRU) in National University of Singapore.

특징점들의 적응적 선택에 근거한 B-spline 곡선근사 (B-spline Curve Approximation Based on Adaptive Selection of Dominant Points)

  • This paper addresses B-spline curve approximation of a set of ordered points to a specified toterance. The important issue in this problem is to reduce the number of control points while keeping the desired accuracy in the resulting B-spline curve. In this paper we propose a new method for error-bounded B-spline curve approximation based on adaptive selection of dominant points. The method first selects from the given points initial dominant points that govern the overall shape of the point set. It then computes a knot vector using the dominant points and performs B-spline curve fitting to all the given points. If the fitted B-spline curve cannot approximate the points within the tolerance, the method selects more points as dominant points and repeats the curve fitting process. The knots are determined in each step by averaging the parameters of the dominant points. The resulting curve is a piecewise B-spline curve of order (degree+1) p with $C^{(p-2)}$ continuity at each knot. The shape index of a point set is introduced to facilitate the dominant point selection during the iterative curve fitting process. Compared with previous methods for error-bounded B-spline curve approximation, the proposed method requires much less control points to approximate the given point set with the desired shape fidelity. Some experimental results demonstrate its usefulness and quality.

  • POS(Point Of Sales) 시스템이란 매장에서 발생하는 판매시점의 모든 정보를 실시간으로 수집, 처리하여 각 부문별 정보를 종합, 분석, 평가할 수 있는 S/W와 H/W를 의미한다. 그러나 기존의 POS 시스템들은 대형 매장이나 할인점들을 대상으로 하여 고가의 전용 장비들을 이용하고 있어, 음식판매 전문매장에서 이를 도입해 사용하기에는 비용이나 규모 면에서 적합하지 않다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 별도의 전용 장비나 망을 구성하지 않고 PC와 PDA로 구성된 무선 인터넷 환경을 이용하여, 음식판매 전문매장에서도 사용할 수 있도록 하는 웹 기반의 POS시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다.
