The purpose of this study is to evaluate a effect of girder-column width ratio to PC wide girder-column joint. Three half scale subassemblies were representing a portion of a protype structure were design, constructed, and tested to failure. From the test result, girder-column width ratio play an important role in the improvement of strength and ductility.

In amorphous silicon and crystalline silicon(a-Si:H/c-Si) heterojuction solar cells, intrinsic hydrogenated amorphous silicon(a-Si:H) films play an important role to passivate the crystalline silicon wafer surfaces. We have studied the correlation between the surface passivation quality and nature of the Si-H bonding at the a-Si:H/c-Si interface. The samples were obtained by VHF-CVD under different deposition conditions. The passivation quality and analysis of all structures studied was performed by means of quasi steady state photoconductance(QSSPC) methods and fourier transform infrared spectrometer(FTIR) measurements respectively.

부하 시스템의 용량 증대와 중요도에 따른 신뢰성 향상을 위해 Uninterruptible Power Supply(UPS)의 병렬운전 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 논문은 droop특성을 적용한 3상 UPS의 병렬운전 제어 알고리즘을 제안한다. 또, 기존의 droop 제어기를 적용한 UPS의 plug-and-play(PnP) 운전시 순환 전류의 원인을 분석하고 PnP 운전이 가능한 droop 제어기를 제안한다. 그리고 제안된 알고리즘의 타당성을 검증하기 위해 PSIM을 통해 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다.

특정한 조건 하에서 생존을 목표로 하는 장르 중에는 공포에서의 탈출과 그에서 얻는 카타르시스를 게임의 근본 재미로 설정하는 공포 생존 게임이 잘 알려져 있으나 설정된 공포가 없거나 중요하지 않고 다만 적대적인 환경적 조건을 다양한 방법으로 타개해 생존이라는 목표를 달성해야 하는 종류의 게임도 있다. 이들을 우리는 환경 적응적 생존게임이라고 분류하기로 한다. 이 논문에서 우리는 특히 다수 사용자들의 협동이 가능한 환경 적응적 생존 게임이 갖는 주요 내적 장치와 생존 요소를 사전 해당 장르 경험 조사를 근거로 스팀 플랫폼 상의 6개의 해당 장르 게임을 대상으로 분석하여 13개의 재미 요소를 추출하였다. 또 해당 게임 관련 카페 등을 통해 주로 30세 이하인 해당 장르 사용자 설문 조사를 통해 플레이 시간 등에서는 남녀간 성차가 거의 나타나지 않았지만 생존 요소 중 여성들이 도구 제작 요소를 더 선호하는 것이 밝혀졌다. 공포 생존 게임은 보통 여성들의 비선호도가 높은 것으로 알려졌지만 공포 요소가 적은 환경 적응형 생존 게임은 여성들의 접근성이 높았다.

The caspase family proteins play an important role in programmed cell death (apoptosis). To date, the expression profiles of the caspase family genes in Bombyx mori (Bm) are poorly known. In this study, we examined the expression profiles of two novel Bm caspase family genes (ice-2 and ice-5), the potential change of the mitochondrial membrane and the morphology in Bm cells after stimulation of ultraviolet (UV) irradiation. The results showed the potential change of the mitochondrial membrane occurred at 5 hours after UV irradiation treatment. Analysis of fluorescent quantitative RT-PCR demonstrated that both the ice-2 and ice-5 might be involved in UV induced apoptosis in Bm cells. Notably, after UV irradiating, expression pattern of ice-2 and ice-5 were remarkably different. The ice-2 gene was highly expressed at two time points, 0.5 and 5 hours after UV stimulating, while the expression level of ice-5 only peaked at 5 hours after UV stimulating. It indicated that apoptosis induced by UV irradiation was involved in the mitochondrial pathway and the two isoforms of Bm ice may act but play different role during the apoptosis of Bm cells.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the behavioral responses to a robot pet in pre-school children. Method: This activity for children was conducted for 5 days at a kindergarten and each session lasted 30 minutes. In order to measure children's temperament, Chun Heeyoung's Temperament Rating Scale was used. In addition, to investigate the behavioral responses to a robot pet, each session was videotaped. The videotape data was analyzed according to child-robot interaction. Result: On the average, subjects scored highest in emotionality and lowest in activity for the temperamental subscale. The videotape data revealed verbal, positive nonverbal, and negative nonverbal interaction. Conclusions: These results suggest that child-robot interaction reflects temperamental characteristics, therefore, to develop a nursing intervention program using a robot, it is necessary to consider individual differences and recreational factors to grab children's interest.

Objective: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play important roles in carcinogenesis. The aim of the present study was to explore the effects of miR-181b on gastric cancer. Methods: The expression level of miR-181b was quantified by qRT-PCR. MTT, flow cytometry and matrigel invasion assays were used to test proliferation, apoptosis and invasion of miR-181b stable transfected gastric cancer cells. Results: miR-181b was aberrantly overexpressed in gastric cancer cells and primary gastric cancer tissues. Further experiments demonstrated inducible expression of miR-181b by Helicobacter pylori treatment. Cell proliferation, migration and invasion in the gastric cancer cells were significantly increased after miR-181b transfection and apoptotic cells were also increased. Furthermore, overexpression of miR-181b downregulated the protein level of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase 3 (TIMP3). Conclusion: The upregulation of miR-181b may play an important role in the progress of gastric cancer and miR-181b maybe a potential molecular target for anticancer therapeutics of gastric cancer.

Korean Volunteer Fire Departments are the representative disaster-related civilian organizations which are based on "Firefighting Framework Act Article 37"and ordinance for complementing the lack of fire-fighting personnel and volunteer and they play a part as community safety keepers. They are operated by the National funding, but cannot be defined as the organization in governmental sources completely or pure volunteer organization in terms of its founding purpose and activities. In these special characteristics, some Volunteer Fire Departments play an important role in Civilian Volunteer Disaster Prevention by being managed effectively, but the others do not. There can be many cause-analyses about this difference. They aren't profit-making organizations and are groups which have no compulsion. So it is important that who the leader is, and what type of leadership he has. By solving this bias by considering these characteristics, in this study we make them perform the center role of community safety network through analyzing the existing status and problems of volunteer fire department education and customized training program reengineering to meet class-specific and regional level.

As video games gain popularity and become a normal part of home entertainment, concern about youth access to inappropriate games continues to grow. Some people have claimed that violent video games influence children's aggressive behavior and that violent video games have some responsibility for violence in the school. In response to people's concerns, the video game industry created a video game rating system in 1995 to help parents decide which video games are appropriate for their children. This study investigated whether parents were aware of the video game rating system and how often they have used it when selecting video games for their children. This study attempted to find relationships among parents' attitudes toward video games, their guidance styles for their children's video game play, and their use of the video game rating system. This study found that most parents have used the video game ratings very frequently when they select video games for their children. But many parents still don't understand the video game rating system. This study showed that parents who had more negative attitudes or less positive attitudes toward video games were more likely to impose restrictions on their children's video game play and to use the video game rating system as a means to restrict their children's access to violent video games.
