공랭식 열교환핀이 부착된 열전모듈의 냉각 성능에 관한 연구 (Cooling Performance of Thermoelectric Module with Air-Cooled Heat Exchanger Fins)

  • Thermal performance of louver fin and plate fin in a thermoelectric cooling system with a duct-flow type fan arrangement is analytically evaluated. The thermoelectric cooling system consists of a thermoelectric module and two heat exchanger fins. The analytic results show that the optimized louver fin has lower thermal resistance than plate fin. The COP and heat absorbed rate of the thermoelectric cooling system with optimized louver fins are 10.3% and 5.8% higher than optimized plate fins, respectively.

종이 물성에 따른 판형 전열교환기의 성능 (Performance of a Plate-Type Enthalpy Exchanger Made of Papers Having Different Properties)

  • The effects of paper properties such as density, air permeability, water vapor transmission rate on the thermal performance of plate-type enthalpy exchanger were experimentally investigated. Papers having different properties were made from the same pulp by calendering or refining. Enthalpy exchanger samples were made from the papers, and were tested according to the standard test procedure (KS B 6879). Effective efficiencies were obtained, which accounted for the air leakage between supply and exhaust streams. Results showed that paper density affected the sensible heat transfer of the samples. Sensible heat transfer increased with density of the paper. It was also shown that effective efficiency of latent heat transfer was approximately the same independent of the samples, which suggests that papers made of the same pulp show similar water vapor transmission characteristics independent of the degree of calendering or refining. Best performance was obtained for the sample having highest paper density and moderate water vapor transmission ratio.

  • The flow and heat transfer characteristics of a heat exchanger having rectangular pin-fin in the flow direction have been investigated numerically. On the bottom plate, the convective boundary conditions for the hot side was given, and the fins were arranged in a channel-type geometric model using the periodic boundary condition in the span-wise direction. Three-dimensional numerical calculations for the flow and conjugate heat transfer problem were conducted using SIMPLE algorithm and $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model. For the slanted pin-fin models, it was found that the downward cooling flow is generated due to the downward pressure gradient component, which can enhance the heat transfer performance near the bottom surface and the fin stem region. Four different inclined angles were considered in the Reynolds number range of 13,500-55,000. The aero-thermal performance of the slanted pin-fin heat exchangers, such as the volume and area goodness factors, were summarized and compared with the baseline plate-fin type heat exchanger quantitatively.

차량 연비개선을 위한 자동변속기유 열교환기에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Auto-Transmission Fluid Heat Exchanger for Improving Vehicle Fuel Efficiency)

  • 차량에서 구동계의 의한 손실은 전체 연료 소비 손실에서 약 4%를 차지하며 그 중에서도 자동변속기는 구동계 손실에 큰 영향을 끼친다. ATF W/C 열교환기는 근래에 관심이 높아지고 있는 부품인데, 자동변속기 윤활유의 온도를 적정한 상태로 유지시켜 줌으로서 연비 개선 효과를 얻을 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 ATF W/C 열교환기 단품 특성을 실험적으로 파악하고, ATF W/C 열교환기가 실제 차에 장착되었을 때의 연비 개선 효과를 살펴보았다. 본 연구에서는 실험을 통하여 ATF 와 냉각수의 온도와 유량에 대한 유용도를 파악하고 유용도를 예측하기 위한 상관식을 도출하였다. MATLAB의 Simulink 프로그램을 통하여 실험의 결과를 바탕으로 ATF W/C 열교환기 유무에 따른 연료 소모량을 비교 하여 연비 개선 효과를 분석하였다. 그 결과 ATF W/C 열교환기가 장착된 자동차는 0.992% 연비 개선 효과가 나타났다.

열 교환 소자 형상의 CFD 시뮬레이션을 통한 판형 전열 교환기 성능평가 (A Performance Evaluation of Plate Type Enthalpy Exchanger through CFD Analysis of Elements)

  • In order to better save energy, many buildings have been constructed with high levels of insulation and airtightness in recent years. Additionally, having high quality indoor air has become more relevant, necessitating a ventilating system. This study is aimed at evaluating the performance of a humidity exchanger through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis of elements for the purpose of providing comfortable indoor air and reduced energy consumption. The simulation was conducted with three different shapes (triangle, rectangular, and curve) of heat exchanger elements, in order to find the most effective element. A follow-up simulation then proved the efficiency of the chosen humidity exchanger, which was selected by analyzing the results of the preceding simulation, comparing study data with measurement data from the Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL). The resulting analysis revealed that the rectangular element showed the lowest level of efficiency in both heating and cooling, while the curved element showed the highest level of efficiency in both heating and cooling.

판형 열교환기에서 유동 과냉도 및 냉각속도가 연속제빙에 미치는 영향 (Effect of supercooling and cooling rate on a continuous ice slurry formation using a plate heat exchanger)

  • The peculiarity of ice slurry, such as liquidity, high heat transfer rate and easy storage can also find to supercooled type dynamic ice storage system(DISS) which is one of the DISS. However, in order to accomplish continuous ice formation in the system without mechanical moving parts, supercooled aqueous solutionshould be formed stable through cooling heat exchanger and be dissoluted in storage tank. In previous research, the time of ice slurry increased as the pressure of the cooling heat exchanger(PHX) increased. In this study, a cooling experiment of an ethylene glycol 7mass% solution was performed with various inlet temperature of the PHX, which has constant brine inlet temperature of $-7^{\circ}C$. The temperature in the storage tank maintained to freezing point of the solution. At results, the time of ice slurry formation increased as the supercooling degree decreased and the cooling rate increased.

목질계 폐바이오메스의 발효열이용 열교환기의 개발 (Development of Heat Exchanger for Fermentation Heat Utilization from Waste Woody Biomass)

  • 본 연구는 폐바이오매스로서 활엽수(hardwood, HW)톱밥, 침엽수(softwood, SW)톱밥, 산야초류(grass) 등 3종의 발효재료를 이용, 3종의 나선형 열교환기와 1종의 평판형 열교환기를 제작하여 발효과정에서 생산되는 발효열을 가장 효율적으로 회수할 수 있는 발효열 교환장치 개발을 위하여 실시하였다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 바이오매스재료의 적절한 원료 배합을 통한 발열 및 열교환 특성을 조사하고 실제 농가에 설치 및 해체가 용이한 열교환기를 개발하였으며, 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 나선형 열교환기를 사용한 발효열 실험에서 활엽수톱밥 및 침엽수 : 활엽수톱밥(50 : 50) 처리보다는 활엽수톱밥 : 산야초(90 : 10)의 발효가 약 3개월간의 긴 발열기간을 나타냈으며, 발효상을 통과한 물의 온도를 100일간 측정한 결과, 중앙부가 $64.5{\sim}76.5^{\circ}C$로 매우 높았고, 물탱크 온도는 $33{\sim}48^{\circ}C$ 범위였으며, 출구의 수온은 $33{\sim}44^{\circ}C$로서 4~5인 기준의 가정용 온수공급이 가능함이 확인되었다. 수행한 4종의 열교환기 실험 결과, 나선형 열교환기 HX-H1은 수온이 $35{\sim}36^{\circ}C$범위로서 더 이상의 온도상승이 없었고, HX-H2는 수온이 $40{\sim}45^{\circ}C$로서 실험기간 중 일정한 온도분포를 보였다. 한편 HX-H3는 최고온도 $68{\sim}70^{\circ}C$, 최저온도 $30^{\circ}C$, 평균온도 $50^{\circ}C$였고, 출구의 온수온도는 $33{\sim}44^{\circ}C$ 범위로서 45일간 공급 가능하였다. 평판형 열교환기 HX-P는 수온이 $42{\sim}58^{\circ}C$로서 3개월 이상 온수공급이 가능하였으므로 4~5인 기준의 가정용 난방 및 온수공급에 문제가 없는 것으로 확인되었다. 그러므로 평판형 열교환기 HX-P는 나선형 열교환기 HX-H에 비해 발효상 내부에 열교환용 파이프가 빈틈없이 배치되어 발효상 전면적을 통해 발효열을 최대로 회수할 수 있었으며, $42{\sim}58^{\circ}C$의 발효열을 최대 3개월정도 이용 가능하였고, 장시간 운용에도 온도가 급강하 하는 등의 문제가 발생되지 않았다. 따라서 발효열교환기는 나선형 시스템보다는 발효열의 회수 효율이 매우 높으면서도, 열교환장치의 제작, 설치, 해체가 용이한 평판형 시스템이 유리한 것으로 나타났다.

와류발생기가 부착된 열교환기 최적설계 (Optimal Design of a Heat Exchanger with Vortex Generator)

  • In this study the optimization of plate-fin type heat sink with vortex generator for thermal stability is conducted numerically. To acquire the optimal design variables, the CFD and mathematical optimization are integrated. The flow and thermal fields are predicted using the finite volume method. The optimization is carried out by means of the sequential quadratic programming (SQP) method. The results show that when the temperature rise is less than 40 K, the optimal design variables are as follows; $B_1=2.584mm$, $B_2=1.741mm$, and t = 7.914 mm. Comparing with the initial design, the temperature rise is reduced by 4.2 K, while the pressure drop is increased by 9.43 Pa. The Pareto optimal solutions are also presented between the pressure drop and the temperature rise.
