정밀모형안을 이용한 Head Mounted Display용 렌즈계 설계 (Lens system design for head mounted display using schematic eyes)

  • 본 논문에서는 구면수차와 Stiles-Crowford 효과를 고려하여 인간의 눈을 모델링한 정밀모형안과 등가인 렌즈모듈 모형안의 설계에 관하여 논의하였고, 렌즈모듈 모형안을 적용한 Head Mounted Display(HMD)용 광학계를 설계 및 평가하였다. HMD용 광학계에서 요구되는 소형화, 고성능 및 고해상도 등의 필수조건들을 만족시키기 위해 회절광학소자와 비구면을 이용하여 색수차와 단색수차를 보정하였다. SVGA급 480,000화소를 갖는 0.47 인치 micro-display, 플라스틱 hybrid 렌즈, 그리고 렌즈모듈 모형안으로 HMD용 광학계를 구성하였다. 설계된 광학계의 초점거리는 31.25 mm, FOV는 24H$\times$18V$\times$30D degrees, 그리고 전장길이는 59.1 mm이다. 결과적으로, 사용자가 편안함을 느낄 수 있는 HMD에 유용한 광학계를 얻었다.

휴대폰 카메라용 비구면렌즈의 성형해석 및 후변형해석 (Mold Filling Analysis and Post-deformation Analysis of Injection-molded Aspheric Lenses for a Mobile Phone Camera Module)

  • In order to produce high-quality optical components, aspheric lenses have been widely applied in recent years. An aspheric lens consists of aspheric surfaces instead of spherical ones, which causes difficulty in the design process as well as the manufacturing procedure. Although injection molding is widely used to fabricate optical lenses owing to its high productivity, there remains lots of difficulty to determine appropriate mold design factors and injection molding parameters. In the injection molding fields, computer simulation has been effectively applied to analyze processes based on the shell analysis so far. Considering the geometry of optical lenses, a full-3d simulation based on solid elements has been reported as a reliable approach. The present work covers three-dimensional injection molding simulation and relevant deformation analysis of an injection molded plastic lens based on 3d solid elements. Numerical analyses have been applied to the injection molding processes of three aspheric lenses for an image sensing module of a mobile phone. The reliability of the proposed approach has been verified in comparison with the experimental results.

고속 라인 스캔 방식을 이용한 CFRP 가공 홀 표면 및 내부 결함 검사 (Measurements of Defects after Machining CFRP Holes Using High Speed Line Scan)

  • Using a line scan camera and a Galvano mirror, we constructed a high-speed line-scanning microscope that can generate 2D images ($8000{\times}8000pixels$) without any moving parts. The line scanner consists of a Galvano mirror and a cylindrical lens, which creates a line focus that sweeps over the sample. The measured resolutions in the x (perpendicular to line focus) and y (parallel to line focus) directions are both $2{\mu}m$, with a 2X scan lens and a 3X relay lens. This optical system is useful for measuring defects, such as spalling, chipping, delamination, etc., on the surface of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) holes after machining in conjunction with adjustments in the angle of LED lighting. Defects on the inner wall of holes are measured by line confocal laser scanning. This confocal method will be useful for analyzing defects after CFRP machining and for fast 3D image reconstruction.

  • 직물의 밀도를 측정하는 작업은 직물 제직 공정에서 매우 중요한 사항이나 일반적으로 직물 제직 공장에서는 고속의 제직 라인에서 수작업에 의해 비효율적으로 행해지고 있다. 따라서 직물 제직 공정에서 직물의 포목 교정을 통해 고품질의 직물을 생산하기 위해서는 정확한 밀도 측정 과저잉 필수적인 사항이다. 본 논문에서는 고속의 제직 공정에서 광학적인 실린더 렌즈를 이용하여 직물의 위사 정보를 검출한 후 밀도 측정을 자동화함으로써 양질의 직물 생산과 직물 생산 효율을 극대화하고자 자동 밀도 측정 시스템을 제안하였다. 제안한 자동 밀도 측정 시스템은 고속의 직물 제직 공정에서 직물의 전체 영역에 걸쳐 일정한 밀도를 유지시켜 고품질의 직물 생산을 가능하게 하였다.

Feedrate Control에 의한 초경코어 표면조도 향상에 관한 연구 (A Study on Improvement of WC Core Surface Roughness by Feedrate Control)

  • Recently, with the increasing lightness and miniaturization of high resolution camera phones, the demand for aspheric glass lens has increased because plastic and spherical lens are unable to satisfy the required performance. An aspheric glass lens is fabricated by the high temperature and pressure molding using a tungsten carbide molding core, so precision grinding technology for the molding core surface are required. This paper reports a development of feedrate control grinding method for aspherical molding core using parallel grinding method. A plane molding core was ground using conventional and feedrate control grinding method. The performance of the feedrate control method was evaluated by measurement of surface roughness. The result indicated that the average surface roughness was reduced to 1.5 nm, which is more efficient than the conventional grinding method.

광학렌즈의 사출압축성형에서 오버플로우를 이용한 웰드라인과 복굴절 저감 (Reduction of Birefringence and Weld-Line using Over-Flow in Injection Compression Molding for Optic Lens)

  • This study has focused on the weld-line and birefringence reduction of a plastic optic lens using over and CAE analysis in injection compression molding. A concave lens, which has a thin thickness in the center and a large difference in thickness between the center and the periphery, often causes weld-line defects during injection molding. CAE analysis has been applied to optimize the overflow design in order to reduce the weld-line defects and the polarization defects. To reduce the weld line and birefringence defects, overflow design and application using CAE analysis show that the measured birefringence values of the specimens before the overflow application were 46.8nm and 36.9nm, and the values after the over-flow application were 13.6nm and 14.0nm. From the experimental results, it is confirmed that birefringence is greatly improved when overflow is applied.

  • DTM (Diamond Turning Machine) is using for ultra precision manufacturing such as, plastic lens die or aspherical optics. This study is on a design of precision 2-axis stage for DTM. We designed and manufactured a back lash free stage using different weights and measured the positioning accuracy using Interferometer. Also, the 2-D moving accuracy is measured using the high magnification CCD technique. Then, the stage is tested with the machining of spherical and aspherical lens in a DTM with air bearing spindle. It was shown that the back lash free stage is effective for improving the positioning accuracy. Also, positioning control errors in motion control board were able to be found using the proposed stages system.

  • 간단한 기하학적 원리에 의해 접촉각을 계산할 수 있는 방안을 모색하였다. 접촉각 측정에 일반적으로 이용되는 기기를 사용하지 않고, 단지 고체 표면의 용액 렌즈가 형성하는 접촉원의 지름과 렌즈의 높이를 측정함으로써 상당한 신뢰성을 가진 접촉각의 크기를 계산할 수 있었다. 이 방법의 신뢰성을 확인하기 위하여 동일한 용액 렌즈에 대해 일반적인 접촉각 측정 장치로 접촉각을 측정하여 그 값들을 상호 비교한 결과 오차 한계의 범위내에서 거의 일치함을 확인하였다.

초소형 휴대폰 광학계의 금형 정밀도가 광학성능에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Mold Precision in Micromini Cellphone Optical Systems)

  • In cellphone optical systems, a tiny difference of manufacturing has a strong influence on camera lenses. This study aims to find out the worst result by tolerances come from all parts in optical performance. First, 3D Measure Instrument, Roundness Measure Instrument, and Wavelength Measure Instrument were used for greater precision by making and measuring the parts to see how different from the drawings. It was confirmed that even narrow tolerances could result in defects by assembling. Tolerances in assembly should be concerned as those in parts through the research.
