  • Electron beam generator of cold cathode type has been developed for industrial application, for example, waste water cleaning, flue gas cleaning, and pasteurization etc. The operational principle is based on the emission of secondary electrons from cold cathode when ions in the plasma hit the cathode, which are accelerated toward exit window by the gradient of an electric potential. The characteristics of secondary electron emission are studied by comparing total cathode current with ion current.

  • New display technologies including LCD and plasma panels and Digital Light Projection (DLP) systems all offer large screens and impressive picture quality. However, flat-panel displays require a sophisticated picture processing to let these panels perform at their optimum levels. This paper explains why motion compensating techniques combined with frame rate conversion and quasi-impulse driving reduces motion blur and film judder for flat panel displays and presents the IC and its system application using this technique.

  • In the past, the development of pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) models for quantitating the time course of drug responses was mainly based on two types of models, the empirical effect compartment model that simply accounts for the delay between effect and plasma concentration (hysteresis) and the mechanism-based so-called indirect response model. The first approach traces back to a paper by Segre (1) and its application was popularized by Holford and Sheiner (2); indirect response models were introduced by Jusko's group (3). (omitted)

  • New package process for PDP was proposed based on the glass-to-glass vacuum-electrostatic bonding process and tubeless packaging concept derived from the previous study. Hermeticity and operating performance of PDP test panel through the seal-off process application and the possibility for practical use might be high if the process simplicity and productivity-related effort was sequentially carried out.

  • 대기압 플라즈마를 이용해 methyl methacrylate($C_5H_8O_2$) 모노머를 폴리머로 합성했으며, 그 결과를 FTIR, AFM, XRD 등으로 분석하고 특성을 평가했다. FTIR의 결과, C-O, C-H, C=O 등의 피크를 확인할 수 있었다. 그리고 XRD의 관찰결과 C 1s 및 O 1s의 각 binding energy가 reference[1]에서 제시하는 것과 일치하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이렇게 확인된 시료를 AFM으로 관찰한 결과 폴리머 코팅층을 확인할 수 있었다.
