The purposes of this study was to investigate accuracy and indigenity of landscape plant species in planting design and construction at housing complex and offer basic data for improving precision of planting construction. The scientific name of landscape plant species was described in planting drawings at only two sites among twelve survey sites. According to analysis on indigenity of plant species in planting drawings, it was found that the component ratio of foreign species was the highest and the component ratio of native species at public housing complex was the lowest. The component ratio of landscape plant species in planting construction was severely differed to that of planting drawings. Also the component ratio of cultivar was higher than that of planting drawings due to planting of sevveral cultivars for one species in planting drawings. In the result of accuracy analysis on landscape plant species in planting construction, it was found that mean ratio of inacccurate species was 33.2% at public housing complex, 29.6% at local company housing complex and 26.4% at nationwide company housing complex. It was found that several cultivars were planted for one species in planting drawings. The representative species which were planted by several cultivars were Camellia japonica, Rododendron spp., Prunus spp. and Magnolia spp. and so on. In order to promote the precision and speciality of planting design and construction, scientific and cultivar name of plants should be described in planting drawings.

The purpose of this study is to investigate Ozone which we have to contact in our daily lives. Recently Ozone becomes a serious pollutant in the inside and outside. To select th indicator plants or the purifier plants for air pollution caused by ozone, this stud has been conducted with interior landscape plant of 10 species. The results are as follows; 1) The visible demage by Ozone was firstly observed on Viburnum awabuki among 10 species, and it occurred after the lapse of 10, 8 and 4 hours on 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 ppm ozone treatment, respectively. The first symptom of visible demage appeared on chlorosis or blotting of leaves, then progressed on necrosis of leaves. 2) On the other hand, Litsea japonica and Ardisia japonica were so resistant against Ozone fumigation that they were not demage independently of Ozone concentration till the lapse of 60 hours. 3) Chlorophyll contents were decreased by the increased Ozone concentration. At this time, grana destruction was observed. The most sensitive plant to ozone was Viburnum awabuki, and we suggest that Viburnum awabuki would be possible one to use for the indicator plant. The most resistance plant to Ozone was Litsea japonic and Ardisia japonica, we suggest that Litsea japonica and Ardisia japonica would be possible to use for the purifier plant for Ozone pollution.

This survey is to investigate the effect of plants and waterscape facilities on the thermal indoor environment and to provide basic data for proper plant cultivation to enhance indoor landscape. The survey of the measure of comfort on the indoor environment for the residents of Taegu shows that the measure of comfort on the thermal-environment, which consist of temperature and humidity, has more negative responses than the measure on lighting . are . sound environment, which consists of air freshness, lighting condition and sound environment. The experiments on the effect of the amount of leaves and the distance of plants on the indoor thermal-environment are made. The experimental results illustrate that, as the capacity of a plant becomes greater and the distance from the plant shorter, the falling effect of temperature and the rising effect of humidity on the top of the plant are taken higher than on the side of the plant. When the same amount of leaves is set up, the distance range of the rising effect of humidity becomes wider than that of the falling effect of temperature. The investigation of the effect of waterscape facilities on the indoor thermal-environment shows that temperature and humidity of the space with installed waterscape facilities are lower and higher than without facilities, respectively.
Recently, the plant industries are being activated and plant control systems use various technologies. Because the optimized design for the plants is very important for the reducing of operation and maintenance costs, automatic control systems become more important. Plant control systems consist of the master controller, the plant networks, the programming environment for engineering, monitoring software and the field devices. The control systems should have reliability, availability and safety. Modular architecture of hardware and software makes flexible configuration of the control systems. Each component should have diagnostic functions. It follows industrial standards and makes open systems. Open systems increase accessibility against the data which is distributed in the plants. The controllers including processor and communication modules use the up-to-date technology. They have real time and fault tolerant function by duplicating processors or networks. It also enables to make the distributed control systems. The distributed architecture makes more scalable main control system. Automatic control systems can be operated with better performance. In this paper, we analyzed the requirements of the seawater desalination plants and made some consideration facts for developing the optimized controller. Also we described the design concept of the main controller, which consists of several modules. We should validate and complement the design for the reliability and better performance.

This study was conducted to find out the physical properties and soil shearing strength reinforcement effect of herbaceous plants for the slope revegetation works. Two native plants(Pennisetum alopecuroides and Miscanthus sinensis) were used for this experiment, because they have excellent seed germination rates without preconditioning, and grow naturally around rivers. To identify the physical properties, the partial dry weight of plants were investigated. To identify the soil shearing strength reinforcement effect, the respective soil shearing strengths of the control soils, Pennisetum alopecuroides, Miscanthus sinensis samples were measured. Also, we did a correlation analysis to examine the relation of shearing strength to plant features. The results are summarized as follows: 1. The average dry weight of Pennisetum alopecuroides samples consists of 52.36% above ground and 47.64% at root. And in dry weight, 78.24% of it's root distributes within 10 cm in soil depth. Meanwhile the average dry weight of Miscanthus sinensis samples consists of 52.91% above ground and 47.09% at root. And in dry weight, 82.95% of it's root distributes within 10 cm in soil depth. 2. The results of correlation analysis showed that for both Pennisetum alopecuroides and Miscanthus sinensis, it could not be said that there was any correlation between shearing strength and plant characteristics, and statistically they were not meaningful. 3. In the shearing strength test with control soils, Pennisetum alopecuroides, Miscanthus sinensis as subjects, the differences in shearing strength measurement results were modest, and the order was shown as control soils < Pennisetum alopecuroides < Miscanthus sinensis, so the soil shearing strength reinforcement effect by the Pennisetum alopecuroides and the Miscanthus sinensis on loamy sand at river banks surface was confirmed.

The study aims to investigate and analyze actual situations of managing topsoil at forest development sites based on their types, in pursuit of conservation and effective use of national land. To do this, I selected target areas by deducting the typical types of forest development and analyzed the condition of soil at the target areas before and after development. In addition to this, I interviewed associated construction staffs to conduct study on present situations of topsoil management and find out its problems. I also surveyed of relevant experts, with the intention of seeking solutions. The results of the study have been shown that firstly, experts preferred collecting and recycling of topsoil as methods of improvement of soil conditions for plant growth. Secondly, the importance of topsoil has been well noticed and there were few construction sites using the methods. However, working and economical problems have disturbed carrying out these solutions. Thirdly, after constructions, organic matter and total-nitrogen content decreased in general which were necessary for plant growth in terms of soil conditions.
Background and objective: This study was conducted on Forsythia velutina, a special plant, in Gyeongsangnam-do Arboretum under the Gyeongsangnam-do Forest Environment Research Institute, which is located in the southern part of Korea. Methods: The research aimed to analyze the flowering characteristics of the plant by calculating the optimal temperature and humidity according to the flowering time and flowering period for 8 years from 2010 to 2017 in order to provide basic data for bioclimate studies of endemic plants. Results: It was observed that the Forsythia velutina showed a life cycle from mid-March and to mid-November. Average growth period was 243 (± 6.5) days. In testing the reliability of a single variable according to the meteorological factors, the Cronbach's Alpha was 0.701, which indicates that the findings were relatively reliable. The average date of flowering was March 16 (SD = 5.8) and the average date on which blossoms fall was March 29 (SD = 5.2). A substantial difference in flowering period was observed from year to year 11 to 23 days, with an average of 16 days (± 4.7). The temperature and humidity in February to March, which affect the flowering, were 2.9-5.5℃, and 66.5-73.0%, respectively, and showed differences every year. Conclusion: The correlation between flowering time and meteorological factors was positive, and the highest daily temperature and average daily temperature had the highest significance. When establishing basic data on plant species for the conservation of endemic plants, the changes in life cycle events and weather conditions are identified. It is believed that it will be helpful in establishing a conservation strategy for the plant species in the future.
