Design of controller for mobile robot in welding process of shipbuilding engineering

  • The present study describes the development of control hardware and software for a mobile welding robot. This robot is able to move and perform welding tasks in a double hull structure. The control hardware consists of a main controller and a welding machine controller. Control software consists of four layers. Each layer consists of modules. Suitable combinations of modules enable the control software to perform the required tasks. Control software is developed using C programming under QNX operating system. For the modularizing architecture of control software, we designed control software with four layers: Task Manager, Task Planner, Actions for Task, and Task Executer. The embedded controller and control software was applied to the mobile welding robot for successful execution of the required tasks. For evaluate this imbedded controller and control software, the field tests are conducted, it is confirmed that the developed imbedded controller of mobile welding robot for shipyard is well designed and implemented.

Latch-up 특성을 갖는 평면형의 열구동 마이크로 액츄에이터 (A thermoelastic microactuator with planar latch-up operation)

  • We designed and fabricated a planner-type thermoelastic microactuator with a latch-up operation for optical switching. Latch-up actuation is prerequisite to implement an optical switch with low power consumption and high reliability. The proposed microactuator consists of four cantilever-shaped thermal actuators, four displacement linkages, two shallow arch-shaped leaf springs, a mobile shuttle mass with a micromirror, and four elastic boundaries. The structural layer of the planar microactuator is phosphorous-doped 12$\mu\textrm{m}$-thick polysilicon, and the sacrificial layer is LTO(Low Temperature Oxide) of 3$\mu\textrm{m}$thickness. The displacement of actuator is as large as 3$\mu\textrm{m}$when the length of actuation bar is 100$\mu\textrm{m}$in length at 5V input voltage. The proposed microactuators have advantages of easy assembly with other optical component by way of fiber alignment in the substrate plane, and its fabrication process features simplicity while retaining batch-fabrication economy.

경비업법령의 문제와 개정방향 (The Proposal of Problems in Private Security Law)

  • 경비업법이 제정된지 40년이 되었다. 그동안 시큐리티정책에 많은 변화가 있었으며 시큐리티 환경도 급변하였다. 경찰과 더불어 생활안전의 한 축을 담당하는 민간경비를 활성화시키고 지원하는 방향에서 전면적인 개정을 할 때가 되었다. 첫째, 시큐리티 환경를 변화를 반영하여 경비업법의 법명과 용어를 재정립할 필요가 있다. 즉, 시큐리티 컨설팅, 플랜너, 민간조사, 융합보안 등을 수용할 수 있도록 적절한 경비업무 범위 등을 확대할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 경비업법령의 오류를 시정하여 개정할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 경비업법령 중에서 불합리한 내용을 지닌 조항을 적절하게 개정할 필요가 있다. 넷째, 경비지도사의 선발, 교육, 선임 중에서 불합리한 문제를 시정하는 방향으로 개정할 필요가 있다.

주민주도적인 가족친화마을만들기를 위한 기관의 역할 - 살기좋은마을만들기 사례분석을 중심으로 - (The Role of Institution for Family-Friendly Community Initiated by Local People - The Case Study of Livable Community Making Projects -)

  • Locals' initiating the community making projects is considered as a good approach in terms of the effectiveness, sustainability and government's budget. But there are not the local institutions' support, while local people alone may face difficulties in starting and managing the projects. This study is to explore the roles of the institutions for starting and managing the family-friendly communities. For this purpose, 18 secondary source cases from the livable community making projects were analyzed. And the major findings of this study were as follows: The (local) institutions need to gain credibility from the locals before starting the family-friendly community project. In the motivation steps, the institution performs the role of a proposer, a survey researcher, an opinion gatherer and mediator. In the systematization steps, the institution needs to perform as a mentor, a developer of human and non-human resources, a conflict mediator, an education practitioner, an instructor, a networker, and an administrative staff. In the execution steps, the institution needs to perform as a cultural program planner, a public relations personnel, and an assessor. In conclusion, the institution needs to train community coordinator and develop programs to educate local residents for the effective family-friendly community projects.

  • 2000년대 초반 이후 대형사업의 발주가 늘어나고 전문적인 건설사업관리에 대한 중요성이 인식되면서 CM시장은 지속적으로 성장하고 있다. CM시장이 성장하면서 CM기업의 수도 증가하고 기업 간의 경쟁이 심화됨에 따라 경쟁력 향상을 위한 노력이 계속되고 있다. 특히 능력 있는 CM단장을 보유하는 것은 사업 수주나 CM기업의 경쟁력 향상에 중요한 현안이 되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 설계단계의 CM업무를 중심으로 전략계획설정자, 팀 형성자, 정보소식통, 전문가, 챔피언 등 5가지 리더 역할의 관점에서 CM단장의 역할 특성을 분석하는데 있다. 연구 결과, 설계단계 CM업무들의 특징에 따라 리더로서의 CM단장 역할 특성이 다른 것으로 나타났으며, CM업무 특성과 CM단장 역할 특성이 상호 연관성이 높은 것으로 나타났다.

Practitioners' Perception on Relationship between Production Planning and Waste Occurrence in Construction Projects

  • Construction management has been suffering from many problems, which need to be solved or better understood. Most of construction projects have not achieved efficiency as expected. In this context, waste was also considered as a problem of efficiency decrease, and poor production planning was considered as a cause for waste. This study was conducted on the basis of waste concepts and production planning processes based on the philosophies of Lean Construction. A survey to find out the relationship between them was carried out through questionnaire, which was answered by experienced people in construction projects. The results have shown that frequency of wastes occurrence is quite high, and production planning processes are superficially performed in construction phase. There is a significant negative relationship between production planning and waste occurrence (r = -0.262). Weekly Work Plan (WWP) is the most dominant plan for waste control with seventeen in total of nineteen waste factors, and phase plan is the most dominant plan for two remaining waste factors. A case study was adopted to validate the relationship between production planning and waste occurrence. The results showed that the better the project was planned, the fewer the waste would occur on construction sites.

Heuristics for Motion Planning Based on Learning in Similar Environments

  • This paper discusses computer-generated heuristics for motion planning. Planning with many degrees of freedom is a challenging task, because the complexity of most planning algorithms grows exponentially with the number of dimensions of the problem. A well-designed heuristic may greatly improve the performance of a planning algorithm in terms of the computation time. However, in recent years, with increasingly challenging high-dimensional planning problems, the design of good heuristics has itself become a complicated task. In this paper, we present an approach to algorithmically develop a heuristic for motion planning, which increases the efficiency of a planner in similar environments. To implement the idea, we generalize modern motion planning algorithms to an extent, where a heuristic is represented as a set of random variables. Distributions of the variables are then analyzed with computer learning methods. The analysis results are then utilized to generate a heuristic. During the experiments, the proposed approach is applied to several planning tasks with different algorithms and is shown to improve performance.

철골공사에서의 타워크레인 양중계획 프로세스에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Process of Tower Crane Construction Planning in Steel Structure)

  • Lifting plan in conjunction with the overall construction plan will be established. It is being created by executive director of the Corporation and other such as an experienced site manager. But, written lifting plan based on the limited information and experience is causing some problems such as decreasing productivity, workability loss, delay. The reasons for the problems are lack of prediction of construction execution, inappropriate materials on the past performance, individual experience, limits of knowledge, lack of technical materials, shortage of advisor. Therefore, to solve the problems, we have to overcome the situation in which we depends on lifting planner's experience and intuition, limited information by accumulating objective and reliable materials. Because unorganized lifting plan will lower efficiency of lifting equipment and make reducing construction period difficult. In this study, influence factors on lifting plans will be derived through reviewing literatures and lifting plan cases. Derived influence factors will be classified as components and classes, classified influence factors are assessed suitability. Also, Decision making items are derived from the factors. Finally, tower crane lifting plan process will be suggested from the result.

  • This paper presents the controller of multiple DC motors using the network. This controller has been built with 16-bits one chip microprocessor (87C196CA) which includes the integrated CAN serial communication and position control for two motors. Since only one microprocessor is needed, the proposed controller is not only cost effective but also powerful. The system is composed of one main controller, trajectory planner, and the other sub controller, position controller. The main controller which has been built using Visual Basic programming on the Pentium PC, generates the trajectory and then transmits it to the sub controller. The trajectory transmitted from the PC will be processed by the sub controller. Two motors are controlled using the conventional position control, PID, to reach them the same target position but with different velocities at the same time. The communications between the main controller and sub controller is performed through the RS-232 or the CAN communication The CAN would be safer and faster than serial communication network since it has non-destructive bitwise arbitration specification. In this paper, we consider the CAN communications generally and then show the usefulness of the proposed controller by demonstrating position control of two DC motors.

가공전선의 이도거동에서 탄성계수와 선팽창계수의 영향 (The Effects of Elastic Modulus Coefficient and Linear Expansion Coefficient of Overhead Conductor on Sag Behavior)

  • The effects of elastic modulus coefficient and linear expansion coefficient of overhead distribution power line(ACSR $58 mm^2$) on sag behavior in distribution line have been investigated to clarify the difference between specification and experimental level. The elastic modulus coefficients of Al wire and steel wire were $5,182.6 kgf/mm^2,\;18,348.8 kgf/mm^2$, respectively Therefore, the computational composition elastic modulus coefficient of the power line was $7,063.5 kgf/mm^2$, while that of experimentally measured was $7681.1 kgf/mm^2$. As a result, we found that elastic modulus coefficient which was experimentally measured was higher than that of computational by 8.7 %. However, when planner designs the sag of disoibution line, the elastic modulus coefficient of power line $8,400 kgf/mm^2$ should be generally adopted. These two different using values lead to the sag difference of 0.62 m. The other results will be discussed.
