  • An asymptotic solution of electromagnetic waves scattered by an arbitrary-angled dielectric wedge in the E-polarized plane wave incidence is obtained by adding a correction to the physical optical fields given in the previous paper of these companion papers, Part I. The source for the asymptotic correction field valid in the far-field region can be equivalent to the multipole line sources at the tip of the wedge, of which coefficients are evaluated numerically by solving a dual series equation. The corrected field patterns are plotted for the typical case treated in Part I.

  • In liquid crystal displays, the display mode that represents initial liquid crystal alignment and method of applying voltage, mainly determines the image quality of display. Recently we have developed the fringe-field switching (FFS) mode exhibiting high image quality. In this paper, a pixel concept, manufacturing process, materials, and electro-optic characteristics of the FFS mode comparing with conventional in-plane switching mode, and its possible application to reflective type are discussed.

  • We have searched for infrared emission from supernova remnants (SNRs) included in the Spitzer Galactic Legacy Infrared Mid-Plane Survey Extraordinaire (GLIMPSE) field. At the positions of 100 known SNRs, we made 3.6, 4.5, 5.8, and $8.0{\mu}m$ band images covering the radio continuum emitting area of each remnant. In-depth examinations of four band images based on the radio continuum images of SNRs result in the identification of sixteen infrared SNRs in the GLIMPSE field. Eight SNRs show distinct infrared emission in nearly all the four bands, and the other eight SNRs are visible in more than one band. We present four band images for all identified SNRs, and RGB-color images for the first eight SNRs. These images are the first high resolution (<2') images with comparative resolution of the radio continuum for SNRs detected in the mid-infrared region. The images typically show filamentary emission along the radio enhanced SNR boundaries. Most SNRs are well identified in the 4.5 and $5.8{\mu}m$ bands. We give a brief description of the infrared features of the identified SNRs.

  • The traditional FDTD method in the stair case, the CP-FDTD method, the modified CP-FDTD method, and Dey method have been developed to analyze smooth-curved- surface structures. These methods have some disadvantages such as inaccuracy of the stair-case FDTD, instability of the modified CP-FDTD, and complexity of Dey method. The improved algorithm presented here is a mixed-form of the modified CP algorithm and Dey algorithm. It is to avoid collinear borrowing approximations and to manipulate field update equations. All of preceding methods are applied to the E-plane sectoral horn antenna to get far-field patterns. The validity and applicability of the presented one is to be shown by comparing computed far-field patterns with measured values.

  • Due to the difficulties in numerical generation of random fields that satisfy not only the probabilistic distribution but the spectral characteristics as well. it is relatively hard to find an exact response variability of a structural response with a specific random field which has its features in the spatial and spectral domains. In this study. focusing on the fact that the random field assumes a constant over the domain under consideration when the correlation distance tends to infinity, a semi-theoretical solution of response variability is proposed for in-plane and plate bending structures. In this procedure, the probability density function is used directly resulting in a semi-exact solution for the random field in the state of random variable. It is particularly noteworthy that the proposed methodology provides response variability for virtually any type of probability density functions.

  • The method for the calaulation of the input impedanc of cavity with water is proposed in this paper the electric field and input impedance are calaulated for the water with high conductivity to verify this method. And the electric field and RCS (radar cross section) is calculated when the plane wave scattered by high permitivity and low conductivity material. The calculated results are compared with exact solution. Then this method is compared with the conventional method.

  • The programs of grid generation and flow analysis for the 3-D flow field. were developed. The finer results from numerical analysis could be obtained by using developed programs than those of the experimental data in the flow field of the circular nozzle exit region. Especially A virtual-origin of 3.2 times of nozzle diameter within three percent error inside from nozzle exit plane could be obtained.

Current density and field profiles are obtained by Biot-savart law and inversion method. We show example of $(Gd,Y)_1Ba_2Cu_3O_{7-{\delta}}-BaZrO_3$ film that have tilted nano rod pinning centers about $13^{\circ}$ from the c-axis.

  • In this paper, the distribution of internal magnetic induction intensity of oil-film bearing twined solenoids was proposed. The magnetic field was generated by solenoids and magnetized bearing. The magnetized bearing was simplified as solenoid model. The mathematical model of magnetic induction intensity at any point of finite solenoid was deduced. Through experiment method, the distribution of the internal magnetic induction intensity of oil-film bearing and the magnetizing current formula of bearing was obtained. Further, the magnetic induction intensity distribution of magnetization bearing was solved successfully. The results showed that the magnetic induction was a second-degree parabola with open upwards along the axial plane and the distribution of magnetic induction intensity was opposite to the rule of magnetic induction intensity generated by solenoids. In addition, the magnetic flux density increased linearly with the increase of current.

  • $Ni_2$MnGa films, deposited on mica and glass substrates, were studied by ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) technology. The temperature-dependent resonance field was measured and a martensitic phase transformation (MT) was found between 310 and 340 K, exhibiting an abnormality on the curve. The easy axis is found to be in the film plane. The line width increases as a whole with decreasing temperature, which is discussed in terms of the motional narrowing mechanism. The resonance field was also measured as a function of orientation and the results were fitted, exhibiting a good consistence.
