전송선로 모델을 이용한 UTP 케이블의 NEXT 해석 (Near-end Cross-talk Analysis of Unshielded Twisted Pair Cable using the Transmission Line Model)

  • UTP 케이블은 광범위하게 사용되고 있고, 최근에는 UHF 주파수 밴드를 위한 제품도 개발되고 있다. UTP 케이블의 가장 중요한 성능 중 하나는 NEXT 특성이다. NEXT 특성을 만족하는 UTP 케이블을 제조하기 위해서 적당한 피치의 길이를 선택하는 기술을 연구하였다. 전산모사는 선로 사이의 뮤추얼 인덕턴스와 커패시턴스를 포함한 전송선로 모델을 이용하였고, 주파수는 1 MHz에서 600 MHz까지의 데이터로 나타내었다. Cat. 6 케이블 NEXT의 worst margin은 전산모사와 측정 결과가 잘 일치하였다.

  • This paper presents a new leveling algorithm that estimates the initial horizontal angles composed of roll angle and pitch angle for a moving or stationary vehicle. The system model of the EKF is designed by linearizing the nonlinear Euler angle differential equation. The measurement models are designed for the moving case and for the stationary case, respectively. The simulation results show that the leveling algorithm is ade-quate not only for acquiring the initial horizontal angles of the vehicle in the motion with acceleration and rotation but also for the stationary one.

Design and Characteristics of Modern Power MOSFETs for Integrated Circuits

  • $0.18-{\mu}m$ high voltage technology 13.5V high voltage well-based symmetric EDMOS isolated by MTI was designed and fabricated. Using calibrated process and device model parameters, the characteristics of the symmetric and asymmetric EDMOS have been simulated. The asymmetric EDMOS has higher performance, better $R_{sp}$ / BVDSS figure-of-merit, short-channel immunity and smaller pitch size than the symmetric EDMOS. The asymmetric EDMOST is a good candidate for low-power and smaller source driver chips. The low voltage logic well-based EDMOS process has advantages over high voltage well-based EDMOS in process cost by eliminating the process steps of high-voltage well/drift implant, high-temperature long-time thermal steps, etc. The specific on-resistance of our well-designed logic well-based EDMOSTs is compatible with the smallest one published. TCAD simulation and measurement results show that the improved logic well-based nEDMOS has better electrical characteristics than those of the conventional one. The improved EDMOS proposed in this paper is an excellent candidate to be integrated with low voltage logic devices for high-performance low-power low-cost chips.

High-temperature ultrasonic thickness monitoring for pipe thinning in a flow-accelerated corrosion proof test facility

  • In order to monitor the pipe thinning caused by flow-accelerated corrosion (FAC) that occurs in coolant piping systems, a shear horizontal ultrasonic pitch-catch waveguide technique was developed for accurate pipe wall thickness monitoring. A clamping device for dry coupling contact between the end of the waveguide and pipe surface was designed and fabricated. A computer program for multi-channel on-line monitoring of the pipe thickness at high temperature was also developed. Both a four-channel buffer rod pulse-echo type and a shear horizontal ultrasonic waveguide type for high-temperature thickness monitoring system were successfully installed to the test section of the FAC proof test facility. The overall measurement error can be estimated as ${\pm}10{\mu}m$ during a cycle from room temperature to $200^{\circ}C$.

  • For the accurate estimation of the position and orientation of a UUV (unmanned underwater vehicle), a low-cost AHRS (attitude heading reference system) was developed using a low-cost IMU (inertial measurement unit) sensor which provides information on the 3D acceleration, 3D turning rate and 3D earth-magnetic field data in the object coordinate system. The main hardware system is composed of an IMU sensor (ADIS16405) and TMS320F28335, which is coded with an extended kalman filter algorithm with a 50-Hz sampling frequency. Through an experimental gimbal device, good estimation performance for the pitch, roll, and yaw angles of the developed AHRS was verified by comparing to those of a commercial AHRS called the MTi system. The experimental results are here presented and analyzed.

에너지와 인근피치간에 유사도를 이용한 잡음레벨 검출에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Noise-Level Measurement using the Energy and relation of closed pitch)

  • 인간은 "습관적 피치 레벨" 즉 자연스럽게 말할 때 평균적으로 사용하는 피치를 갖는다. 하지만 음성에 잡음이 첨가 되면 이 피치가 불규칙하게 바뀌게 된다. 이점을 이용하여 음성의 잡음레벨을 측정할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 입력음성의 에너지를 구하고 일정 에너지레벨 이상에서의 구간에 대해 NAMDF(Normalized Average Magnitude Difference Function)방법으로 피치를 구하고, 각 프레임을 피치단위로 분절한 뒤 인근 피치간의 유사도를 측정하여 입력음성데이터의 잡음레벨을 검출하는 방법을 제안하였다.

GNSS 자세결정시스템의 오차해석 (Error Analysis of GNSS Attitude Determination System)

  • In this paper an error analysis of 3-dimensional GNSS attitude determination system is given. The attitude error covariance matrix is derived and analyzed. It implies that attitude errors are affected by the baseline length and configuration, the satellites numbers and geometry, receiver measurement noises and the nominal attitude of the vehicle. By defining Euler Angle Dilution Of Precision (EADOP) which is analogous to GDOP, roll, pitch and yaw errors can be efficiently analyzed. However the expression of the attitude error is too complex to get some intuitions. Therefore with a commonly adopted assumption, new expressions for attitude error are derived. The formulas are easy to compute and represent the attitude error as a function of the nominal attitude of a vehicle, the baseline configuration and the receiver noise. Using the formula, the accuracy of the attitude can be analytically predicted without the computer simulations. Applications to some widely used configurations reveal the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • By using information about specific road grades, one can predict the power required by a vehicle. The prediction of the required power enables the driver to choose the driving route with the best fuel economy, which results in cost and energy savings. A clinometer is one of the more simple tools used to measure road grades, but requires significant time and effort. In this paper, a new method for measuring road grades from within a vehicle is proposed and experimentally verified.

웨어러블 디바이스 기반 근감각-색·음 변환 시스템의 구현 (Implementation of Muscular Sense into both Color and Sound Conversion System based on Wearable Device)

  • This paper presents a method for conversion of muscular sense into both visual and auditory senses based on synesthetic perception. Muscular sense can be defined by rotation angles, direction changes and motion degrees of human body. Synesthetic interconversion can be made by learning, so that it can be possible to create intentional synesthetic phenomena. In this paper, the muscular sense was converted into both color and sound signals which comprise the great majority of synesthetic phenomena. The measurement of muscular sense was performed by using the AHRS(attitude heading reference system). Roll, yaw and pitch signals of the AHRS were converted into three basic elements of color as well as sound, respectively. The proposed method was finally applied to a wearable device, Samsung gear S, successfully.
