탄성표면파의 반사계수를 이용한 파괴응력의 해석 (The analysis of fracture stress using reflection coefficient of surface acoustic wave)

  • 본 연구에서는 취약한 고체의 표면에 존재하는 crack에 탄성표면파를 입사 시켰을 때 발생하는 반사계수를 측정하여 파괴응력을 해석하는 방법을 연구 분석하였다. Crack이 존재하는 취약한 고체에서의 파괴응력은 임계응력확대계수와 정규화된 최대응력확대계수의 함수로써 나타나며, 이 때 정규화된 최대응력확대계수는 탄성표면파의 반사계수를 측정하여 구할 수 있었다. 실험을 위하여 Pyrex glass원판 중앙에 깊이가 0.5mm~0.9mm인 crack을 제작하였고, SAW wedge transducer를 피치캐치(pitch-catch) 모드로 구성하여 반사계수를 측정하고 파괴응력값을 산출하였으며 UTM(Universal Testing Machine)으로 측정한 값과 비교 분석하였다.

  • The previous work (Cheong et al., 2006) where the characteristics of acoustic emissions of wind turbines has been investigated according to the methods of power regulation, has showed that the acoustic power of wind turbine using the stall control for power regulation is more correlated with the wind speed than that using the pitch control. In this paper, basically extending this work, the noise generation characteristics of large modern upwind wind turbines are experimentally indentified according to the power regulation methods. To investigate the noise generation mechanisms, the distribution of noise sources in the rotor plane is measured by using the Beam-forming measurement system (B&K 7768, 7752, WA0890) consisting of 48 microphones. The array results for the 660 kW wind turbine show that all noise is produced during the downward movement of the blades. This result show good agreement with the theoretical result using the empirical formula with the parameters: the convective amplification; trailing edge noise directivity; flow-speed dependence. This agreement implies that the trailing edge noise is dominant over the whole frequency range of the noise from the 660 kW wind turbine using the pitch control for power regulation.

Lead-Frame 에칭공정에서 분무특성을 이용한 에칭특성의 예측 (The Prediction of Etching Characteristics Using Spray Characteristics in Etching Process of Lead-Frame)

  • The objective of this study is to predict the etching characteristics using spray characteristics for the optimization on the etching process of Lead-Frame. The etching characteristics such as etching factor, uniformity were investigated on the actual operating conditions. The correlation between the etching characteristics and the spray ones obtained by measurement were analyzed to simulate the etching characteristics according to actual conditions of lead-frame etching process. These conditions of lead-frame process were spray pressure, distance from nozzle tip to substrate, pipe pitch, and nozzle pitch. To improve the etching characteristics in the lead-frame process, effects of the various operating conditions should be understood in detail. The spray characteristics obtained by experiment using PDA system were simulated by the Monte-Carlo method. The etching process model was coded by Java language. It was found that simulation results generally agreed well with the measured results of etching characteristics in lead-frame etching process. The optimal operating parameters were successfully found under variable conditions.

NXT Mindstorm을 이용한 교육용 이륜 도립진자 로봇 제작 (Implementation of Educational Two-wheel Inverted Pendulum Robot using NXT Mindstorm)

  • 이 논문에서는 모델 기반 설계에 근거한 이륜 도립진자 로봇의 제어이득을 설계하고 NXT 마인드스톰과 RobotC 언어를 이용하여 수업에 활용 가능한 로봇을 제작 및 실험한다. 이륜 도립진자 로봇은 NXT 마인드스톰, 서보 직류전동기, 자이로 센서, 가속도 센서로 구성된다. 직류전동기에 내장된 엔코더를 이용하여 바퀴의 회전각을 검출하며 이동평균을 이용하여 바퀴의 회전각속도를 계산한다. 자이로 센서는 몸체의 피치 각속도를 측정하며 가속도 센서는 몸체의 피치 각도를 측정한다. 자이로와 가속도의 센서 융합을 통해 몸체 각도를 계산한다. 제어기 이득 요소는 휠 각도, 휠 각속도, 몸체 피치 각도, 몸체 피치 각속도에 대한 가중치이다. 이들 제어이득의 변화에 따른 도립진자 로봇의 변화를 실험하며 유용성을 확인한다.

지게차 출발감각 평가지수 개발 (Development of Start Feel Index of a Forklift Truck)

  • In this paper the start fuel index was developed to estimate ride quality of a forklift truck during the start motion. Through the consultation with test drivers, definition of start feel was made, and three parameters were selected to describe the start motion. They are engagement shock in the forwarding direction, vertical and pitch vibration respectively. To find out the relation between the measured motion and the subjective fueling, both the subjective rating and the measurement of vehicle motions were performed simultaneously. The correlation analysis between the two kinds of results showed start fuel was expressed by the measured accelerations with accuracy and reliability, Use of the new index has advantages of not only evaluating start fuel only by the measured signals but providing the consistent results which are not affected by physical and mental state of a test driver. Usefulness of the new index was confirmed by verification test on four new forklift trucks of a same model, which showed the order of preference by the index was coincided that by subjective evaluation.

가변익 프로펠러를 갖는 추진축계의 비틀림진동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Torsional Vibration of propulsion Shafting System with Controllable Pitch Propeller)

  • Controllable pitch propeller(CPP) is usually adopted for easy and effective engine controls of a ship in a port. Unfortunately the torsional vibration may occur by a certain variation of engine torque and the major resonance peak may exist within the maximum continuous rating(MCR) In these cases an additional stress concentration on the oil passages such as longitudinal slots notches and circular holes of an oil distributor shaft(ODS) occurs by the torsional vibration of the CPP shaft. In this paper an analysis for the fatigue limit of an ODS system of the 5S70MC engine in a crude oil carrier is done by applying FEM and empirical formulas. Furthermore the additional stress on the ODS is investigated by analyzing the torsional vibration of the shaft system and a control method in which a tuning damper is adopted is introduced in the case of the additional stress exceeds the fatigue limit. The validity of analysis method is verified by comparing the results acquired by an actual measurement of the vibratory torque for the above ODS

우울증 화자 음성의 음향음성학적 특성 (Vocal acoustic characteristics of speakers with depression)

  • The purposes of this paper is to study the characteristics of compared to the speakers voice without depression and speakers with depression, and to propose a objective method for the measurement of the therapeutic effects as well as for diagnostics of depression based on the characteristics. The voice samples obtained from 11 female speakers with depression, aged from 20 to 40, diagnosed as having major depressive disorder by an psychiatrist were compared with those from 12 normal controls with matched sex, age, height, weight, education, smoking, and drinking. The voice samples are taken by a portable digital recorder(TASCAM DR-07, Japan) and analysed using the MDVP(Multi-Dimentional Voice Program) software module from CSL(Computerized Speech Lab, kay elemetrics, co, model 4100). The result of the investigation are as following. First, the average speaking fundamental frequency and loudness range of the speakers with depression group was statistically significantly lower than that of the control group. The pitch range of the control group was rather higher than that of the speakers with depression group, but without statistical significance. Overall speech rates have no statistical difference between two groups. Second, the average speaking fundamental frequency and loudness range have statistically significant negative correlation with Beck Depression Inventory, i. e. more severe depression exhibits lower average speaking fundamental frequency and loudness range. Other vocal parameters such as pitch range and overall speech rate have no statistically meaningful correlations with Beck Depression Inventory.

Electron Microburst Generation by Wave Particle Interaction

  • Electron microbursts are the intense electron precipitation which durations are less than one second. We measured the energy spectra of the microbursts from 170 keV to 340 keV with solid state detectors aboard the low-altitude (680km), polar-orbiting Korean STSAT-1 (Science and Technology SATellite). The data showed that the loss cone at these energies is empty except when microbursts abruptly appear and fill the loss cone in less than 50 msec. This fast loss cone filling requires pitch angle diffusion coefficients larger than ~ 10-2rad2/sec, while ~10-5 rad2/sec was proposed by a wave particle interaction theory. We recalculated the diffusion coefficient, and reviewed of electron microburst generation mechanism with test particle simulations. This simulation successfully explained how chorus waves make pitch angle diffusion within such short period. From considering the resonance condition between wave and electrons, we also showed ~ 100 keV electrons could be easily aligned to the magnetic field, while ~ 1MeV electrons filled loss cone partially. This consideration explained why precipitating microbursts have lower e-folding energy than that of quasi-trapped electrons, and supports the theory that relativistic electron microbursts that have been observed by satellite in-situ measurement have same origin with ~100 keV electron microbursts that have been usually observed by balloon experiments.

  • 최근에는 탄소섬유강화복합재료(CFRP)는 우수한 기계적인 물성치와 수월한 설계특성으로 인해 우주.민간 항공산업분야 뿐만 아니라 여러분야에 응용성이 매우 높다. 그러나 CFRP 복합적층판으로 제작된 구조물은 충격손상을 받을 시에는 50-75%치 강도가 낮아지는 취약성을 가지고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에는 CFRP복합재의 구조건전성 및 결함여부를 비파괴적으로 검사 및 탐상을 하기 위해서 시도하였다. 특히, C-scanner의 수침조에서 충격손상을 받은 시험편을 집어넣어 자동 데이터 획득 시스템을 구동하여 현장응용성이 가장 높은 일 방향 초음파측정 (one-sided ultrasonic measurement) 방법인 평가기법을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 일방향 초음파 피치캐치방법이 CFRP 복합적층판내에서 일반 수직 초음파 탐상기법보다 훨씬 민감함을 알 수 있었다.

Measurement of magnetization loss according to the winding pitch of CORC®

  • For the application of HTS wire to AC power equipment, a conductor with high current capacity and low loss is required. CORC®, one of the high-current conductors manufactured using several HTS wires, is made by winding the wires in a spiral on a cylindrical former. Because the magnetization loss of a CORC® conductor depends on the degree of magnetic coupling between the wires constituting the CORC®, it is necessary to know the value of the magnetization loss of the CORC® itself. In order to obtain an accurate loss value, it is necessary to know the effect of the ratio of the winding pitch of the CORC® conductor in the pickup coil region sampling the magnetization loss signal. To confirm this effect, we prepare CORC® samples having various winding pitches, and measure and compare the magnetization losses. In addition, the magnetization loss was measured while rotating the CORC® samples and it was examined whether there was a difference in the magnetization loss according to the rotation.
