추계학적 최적화방법에 의한 기존관수로시스템의 병열관로 확장 (Stochastic Optimization Approach for Parallel Expansion of the Existing Water Distribution Systems)

  • 관망상배관(Looped networks)시스템에서 관수로시스템의 전체비용은 폐회로유량(Loop flows)에 따라 영향을 받는다. 따라서 관망상배관의 최적설계를 위한 수학적모형을 추계학적 최적화방법에 적용하기 위하여 폐회로유량의 섭동(Perturbations)으로 전체비용이 변하게 하였다. 관망상 배관문제의 분석가능영역은 수많은 국지해(Local optimum)를 갖는 비볼록(Nonconvex)이므로 분석가능영역의 효율적인 심사를 위하여 수정추계학적 심사방법을 제안하였으며 이 방법은 국부심사단계(Global search phase)와 국지심사단계(Local search phase)로 구성되어 있다. 국부탐사에서는 점차적으로 국지해를 증진시키며 국지탐사에서는 국부탐사단계에서 교착상태에 있는 국지해로 부터 벗어나게 하거나 최종국지해를 증진시킨다. 제안한 방법의 효율성을 검정하기 위하여 참고문헌에 있는 기존관수로시스템의 병열관로(Parallel pipe line) 확장문제를 표본으로 채택하여 제안한 방법을 적용한 결과 먼저 발표된 연구자들의 비용보다 적은 비용으로 설계할 수 있었다.

Collapse moment estimation for wall-thinned pipe bends and elbows using deep fuzzy neural networks

  • The pipe bends and elbows in nuclear power plants (NPPs) are vulnerable to degradation mechanisms and can cause wall-thinning defects. As it is difficult to detect both the defects generated inside the wall-thinned pipes and the preliminary signs, the wall-thinning defects should be accurately estimated to maintain the integrity of NPPs. This paper proposes a deep fuzzy neural network (DFNN) method and estimates the collapse moment of wall-thinned pipe bends and elbows. The proposed model has a simplified structure in which the fuzzy neural network module is repeatedly connected, and it is optimized using the least squares method and genetic algorithm. Numerical data obtained through simulations on the pipe bends and elbows with extrados, intrados, and crown defects were applied to the DFNN model to estimate the collapse moment. The acquired databases were divided into training, optimization, and test datasets and used to train and verify the estimation model. Consequently, the relative root mean square (RMS) errors of the estimated collapse moment at all the defect locations were within 0.25% for the test data. Such a low RMS error indicates that the DFNN model is accurate in estimating the collapse moment for wall-thinned pipe bends and elbows.

개미군집 최적화 알고리즘을 이용한 상수도관망 시스템의 최저비용설계 모델의 현장 적용 (Field Application of Least Cost Design Model on Water Distribution Systems using Ant Colony Optimization Algorithm)

  • In this study, Ant Colony Algorithm(ACO) was used for optimal model. ACO which are metaheuristic algorithm for combinatorial optimization problem are inspired by the fact that ants are able to find the shortest route between their nest and food source. For applying the model to water distribution systems, pipes, tanks(reservoirs), pump construction and pump operation cost were considered as object function and pressure at each node and reservoir level were considered as constraints. Modified model from Ostfeld and Tubaltzev(2008) was verified by applying 2-Looped, Hanoi and Ostfeld's networks. And sensitivity analysis about ant number, number of ants in a best group and pheromone decrease rate was accomplished. After the verification, it was applied to real water network from S water treatment plant. As a result of the analysis, in the Two-looped network, the best design cost was found to $419,000 and in the Hanoi network, the best design cost was calculated to $6,164,384, and in the Ostfeld's network, the best design cost was found to $3,525,096. These are almost equal or better result compared with previous researches. Last, the cost of optimal design for real network, was found for 66 billion dollar that is 8.8 % lower than before. In addition, optimal diameter for aged pipes was found in this study and the 5 of 8 aged pipes were changed the diameter. Through this result, pipe construction cost reduction was found to 11 percent lower than before. And to conclusion, The least cost design model on water distribution system was developed and verified successfully in this study and it will be very useful not only optimal pipe change plan but optimization plan for whole water distribution system.

  • An automatic pipe routing system is proposed and implemented. Generally, the pipe routing design as a part of the shipbuilding process requires a considerable number of man hours due to the complexity which comes from physical and operational constraints and the crucial influence on outfitting construction productivity. Therefore, the automation of pipe routing design operations and processes has always been one of the most important goals for improvements in shipbuilding design. The proposed system is applied to a pipe routing design in the engine room space of a commercial ship. The effectiveness of this system is verified as a reasonable form of support for pipe routing design jobs. The automatic routing result of this system can serve as a good basis model in the initial stages of pipe routing design, allowing the designer to reduce their design lead time significantly. As a result, the design productivity overall can be improved with this automatic pipe routing system.

상수관로 최적설계 문제에 있어 빌딩블록가설을 고려한 유전 알고리즘의 효율성 평가 (Efficiency Evaluation of Genetic Algorithm Considering Building Block Hypothesis for Water Pipe Optimal Design Problems)

  • 대표적인 메타 휴리스틱 알고리즘 중 하나인 유전알고리즘은 생명체의 자연 진화 과정을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션하며 이 과정에서 선택, 교차, 그리고 돌연변이가 수행된다. 이 과정에서 유전알고리즘은 정의길이가 짧고, 차수가 낮은 반면, 높은 적응도를 갖는 스키마타의 병렬배열에 의해 최적해에 근접해 간다. 본 연구에서는 유전알고리즘의 핵심 작동원리 중 하나인 빌딩블록가설과 상수관망 시스템이 가지고 있는 공학적, 수리학적 특성을 동시에 고려한 최적해 효율성 제고의 가능성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 즉, 공학적 문제 해결에 있어 유전알고리즘 수행을 위한 유전자의 배치순서에 따른 최적화 결과의 효율성을 평가하였다. 공학적 문제로 상수관로 최적설계 문제를 선택하여 적용하였으며, 유전자 배치순서는 기존배치, 네트워크 위상 기반 배치, 그리고 유량크기 기반 배치로 구분하여 공학적 특이성을 반영하였다. 적용결과 유량 크기 기반 배치를 적용한 최적화 결과가 기존배치에 비하여 평균적으로 약 2-3% 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 이것은, 실제 공학 최적화 문제의 적용성과 효율성을 증대시키기 위해서는 명확한 사전지식(수리학적 특성 등)을 활용하여 가능한 이와 같은 우수한해의 특성이 소멸되지 않도록 하는 장치가 반드시 필요하다는 것을 의미한다. 제안된 방법론은, 향후 대규모 상수관망 최적설계에 있어 효율성 제고를 위한 방안으로 활용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

고품질 미디어 콘텐츠 전달을 위한 스마트 네트워크 구현 (An Implementation of Smart Network for High-Quality Media Contents Delivery)

  • 최근 인터넷 환경은 기존 웹 중심에서 고품질 멀티미디어 콘텐츠 중심으로 변화하고 있으며, 이에 따라 네트워크가 전달해야 할 트래픽에서 비디오 콘텐츠 및 파일공유 트래픽이 차지하는 비중이 급격히 늘어나고 있다. 따라서 네트워크 사업자는 대용량 비디오 콘텐츠 트래픽의 수익화 연계가 가능한 Smart Pipe를 위한 방안으로 고품질 미디어 콘텐츠 전달 기능이 추가된 스마트 네트워크로의 전환을 추진하고 있다. 스마트 네트워크는 콘텐츠 중심 네트워크(Content-Centric Network)의 개념을 현재의 IP 네트워크 위에서 오버레이 형태로 콘텐츠를 인지하여 콘텐츠별 최적 네트워크 자원을 할당하고 네트워크 사업자의 네트워크 제어능력을 추가하여 End-to-End로 고품질 콘텐츠 전달이 가능하도록 하는 기술이다. 본 논문에서는 스마트 네트워크를 구현하기 위한 구조 및 주요기능과 시험망을 통한 결과를 제안한다.

태백권 배수관망 개량사업의 비용효과분석 최적화 모델 연구 (A Study on Cost Benefit Analysis Optimization Model for Water Distribution Network Rehabilitation Project of Taebaek Region)

  • This research carried out an analysis on input cost and leakage reduction effect by leakage reduction method, focusing on the project for establishing an optimal water pipe network management system in the Taebaek region, which has been executed annually since 2009. Based on the result, optimal cost-benefit analysis models for water distribution network rehabilitation project were developed using DEA(data envelopment analysis) and multiple regression analysis, which have been widely utilized for efficiency analysis in public and other projects. DEA and multiple regression analysis were carried out by applying 4 analytical methods involving different ratios and costs. The result showed that the models involving the analytical methods 2 and 4 were of low significance (which therefore were excluded), and only the models involving the analytical methods 1 and 3 were suitable. From the result it was judged that the leakage management method to be executed with the highest priority for the improvement of revenue water ratio was installation of pressure reduction valve, followed by replacement of water distribution pipe, replacement of water supply pipe, and then leakage detection and repair; and that the execution of leakage management methods in this order would be most economical. In addition, replacement of water meter was also shown to be necessary in case there were a large number of defective water meters.

  • As P-new-city is planned and constructed, district eating utilizing an existing near-by power plant's waste heat is considered as an economic and environment friendly way of providing heating to the new city. Many pipeline diameters and pumping station location and capacity were assumed, investigated and optimized, to satisfy the customers' heat demand considering common district heating pipe-network design and construction practice, and also and construction, pumping station land price and construction and the pumping energy cost during lifetime of DH systems.
