Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of interactive pictorial education on community dwelling older Korean adults' self-efficacy and knowledge for safe medication. Methods: A quasi-experimental, three-group pre- and post-intervention design was used in this study. The interactive pictorial education was designed to suit the learning patterns and psychomotor skills of older adults. The education content, dealing with safe medication, was delivered over three sessions. A total of 136 older adults from local senior centers were assigned to one of the three groups: a) interactive pictorial education plus information booklet (experimental); b) education only with information booklet (conventional); or c) no intervention (control). Results: Participants receiving interactive pictorial education had significantly higher self-efficacy (F=24.32, p<.001) and knowledge (F=24.26, p<.001) scores than the information booklet or control group at post intervention. Post-hoc analyses indicated that both the interactive pictorial and the information booklet groups had significantly higher self-efficacy and knowledge scores than the control group at the post-test point (p<.05). Furthermore, the interactive pictorial group had higher self-efficacy and knowledge scores than the information booklet group at the post-test point (p<.05). Conclusion: These results suggest that the interactive pictorial education is an innovative approach that provides a means for older adults to learn appropriate medication use to improve their own health. It empowers older adults with different literacy levels to enhance their self-efficacy and knowledge for the safe use of medication.

This research attempts to analyze communication effects of print ad having pictorial typography. 150 Questionnaires were distributed to respondents staying Daejeun City and 148 copies were retreated for five days from April 22nd to 26th, 2012. Frequency analysis, factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha for reliability analysis were utilized for data analysis with SPSS 12.0. For testing hypothesis, regression analysis was used. As result of testing hypothesis, 'informative, beneficial, creative, reliable' were partially significant to attitude towards print ad having pictorial typography. That means 'creative' and 'reliable' were insignificant, while 'informative' and 'beneficial' are significant. Variable of the most influencing on attitude towards advertising is 'informative.' 'Informative, beneficial, creative, and reliable' were partially significant to brand attitude, too. That means 'beneficial' and 'creative' were insignificant, while 'informative' and 'reliable' were significant. Variable of the most influencing on brand attitude was 'reliable.' Therefore, to enhance communication effect of print ad having pictorial typography, 'informative' and 'reliable' are most significant variables.

최근 대수 교육과정에서 패턴들을 표현하면서 일반적인 규칙을 인식하고 설명하는 것이 하나의 대안으로 제시되고 강조되고 있다. 우리나라 역시 제 7 차 교육과정에서 '규칙성과 함수' 영역과 관련하여 초등학교 과정에서 다양한 형태의 패턴활동을 지도하고 있다. 그러나 최근 패턴활동을 통한 학습에 대한 연구에서 학생들의 어려움과 문제점이 지적되고 있다. 이 글에서는 우리나라 초등학교 교육과정에 많이 도입되고 있는 시각적 패턴의 탐구 활동을 통한 일반화 과정을 중심으로 하여, 시각적 패턴의 일반화 과정에서의 다양한 접근과 학생들의 사고전략, 기호화 상태를 고찰한다. 그리고 시각적 패턴의 일반화, 기호화의 어려움을 논의하고 시각적 패턴의 탐구 활동 학습을 위한 몇 가지 제안을 하였다.

사진은 다양한 목적으로 활용되지만 특히 설득의 도구로 큰 역할을 한다. 사진은 실제를 재현하는 매체라는 독특한 특성 때문에 비교적 설득이 용이하다. 본 논문은 의사 결정에 있어 중요한 역할을 하는 감성을 사진이라는 매체에 대입하여 설득의 역할을 강화하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 사진 이미지의 감성구조를 파악하여 긍정적인 감성을 유발하는 요인을 구체적으로 도출하고자 하였다. 특히 사진 이미지의 감성을 구성하는 여러 가지 요인들에 내포적 의미를 부여하고 다양한 요인에 대해 우선순위를 정하여 서열화하는 연구를 수행하여 연구 결과에 대한 실질적인 활용도를 높일 수 있도록 하였다. 사진의 감성은 다양한 원인에 따라 다르게 인지되는데, 사진을 촬영한 대상과 사진을 구성하고 있는 구체적인 화질 속성의 영향이 크다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 다양한 촬영 대상과 화질 속성을 갖는 이미지를 실험 자극으로 활용하여 보다 범용적이고 구체적인 결과를 얻을 수 있도록 하였다.

Most of virtual reality systems ask users to control 3D objects or to navigate 3D world using 3D controllers. To maximize the human performance in the control, the design of virtual reality system and its input and output devices should be optimized. In this study, an experiment was designed to investigate the effects of three resolution factors of a virtual reality system on the human performance. Six subjects conducted the experiment for the factors; two frame rates, three spatial resolutions, and three pictorial contents. The result showed that the greater the spatial resolution was, the higher the human performance was. For the temporal resolution, fixed frame rate at 18 Hz was better than the varied maximized frame rate. For the pictorial contents, the virtual space with orientation cues marked the greatest performance than the other two conditions; the virtual space without any orientation cue and the virtual space like real world. These results could be applied for the design of virtual reality systems.

Sixty-four EC-6 teacher candidates were asked to elaborate on the method they used when interrupting seven mathematical pictorial models. The instrument used was research designed but modeled after a 4th grade released state tests. This study was conducted in the southern part of the United States. A panel of experts worked with the researcher to determine the most appropriate initial approach to interrupting the mathematical pictorial model. The pictorial models examined such concepts as measurement, place value and time. Since the questions were on a 4th grade level, it was expected that the teacher candidates would score 100%, however, this was not the case. The results will be given in the paper as each question is discussed. The results of the survey are being used to develop teaching modules for teacher candidates in mathematics methodology classes.

미국과 중국에서 발간된 한국전쟁 사진화보집을 비교 분석하여, 각 사진화보집이 전달하고자 하는 한국전쟁의 의미와 그 의미를 사진으로 표상하는 방식의 차이를 살펴보았다. 분석대상으로 선택된 사잔화보집은 1954년에 미국 해외참전용사협회에서 발간한 Pictorial History of the Koran War와 1959년 중국 해방군화보사에서 발간한 "광영적중국인민지원군(光榮的中國人民志願軍)"이다. 한국전쟁 사진화보집에 대한 분석은 한국전쟁에 관한 공식적인 기억의 내용을 알 수 있는 하나의 방법이 될 수 있다. 분석 결과, 한국전쟁에 대한 미국과 중국의 인식이 다른 만큼, 사진을 통해 표현되는 한국전쟁의 기억도 매우 다름을 알 수 있었다. 미국에서 발간된 Pictorial History the Korean War에서는 한국전쟁에 대한 일관된 스토리를 찾아보기 어려웠고, 우세한 전쟁 상황을 사진을 통해 객관적으로 보여주려 하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 개별 사진들도 상징성보다는 기록성이 강한 사진의 특성을 보여주었다. 이에 비해 중국에서 발간된 "광영적중국인민지원군(光榮的中國人民志願軍)"에서는 한국전쟁에 관한 일관된 스토리를 찾을 수 있었고, 그 내용은 한국전쟁 참전의 정당성을 주장하는 것이었다. 개별 사진을 분석한 결과에서는 이데올로기적 신념을 시각화하는 상징성이 강한 사진의 특성을 발견할 수 있었다. 이를 통해 우리가 시각적으로 기억하는 전쟁이 사실은 현재의 관점에서 구성되고 재해석된 것임을 알 수 있다.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the effect of Haedoksamul-tang on three patients with heavy menstrual bleeding. Methods: Three patients took Haedoksamul-tang for 3 months 5 cycles and got electric needle and infrared therapy. The Pictorial Blood loss Assessment Chart was used to evaluate menstrual index that shows the menstrual bleeding loss. We also assessed dysmenorrhea using the Numerical Rating Scale during the treatment. Results: The Menstrual Index has decreased and the symptoms of dysmenorrhea have relieved after treating with Haedoksamul-tang. Conclusions: The case report shows that Haedoksamul-tang is effective on patients with heavy menstrual bleeding.
