A Method to Arrange Absorptive Materials on Walls for Effective Interior Noise Control (효율적 실내 소음 저감을 위한 흡음재 분포 위치 결정 방법)

  • Absorptive material arrangement method for effective interior noise control is proposed. Sound field with arbitrary boundary condition is formulated by Kirchhoff-Helmholtz integral equation. A simple example such as a rectangular cavity will present physical meaning between changing boundary condition and control of sound field. The effect of changing boundary condition is expressed in modal admittance. From this formulation. an admittance map is presented. The admittance map is the figure to represent position where absorptive material is attached for effective interior noise control. The admittance map can be assigned to each resonant frequency. There. however, may be common area of those maps. Then, frequency robust arrangement of absorptive material in noise control will be presented.

  • Industrial robots have increased in both the number and applications in today's material handling systems. However, traditional approaches to robot controling have had limited success in complicated environment, especially for real time applications. One of the main reasons for this is that most traditional methods use a set of kinematic equations to figure out the physical environment of the robot. In this paper, a neural network model to solve robot manipulator's inverse kinematics problem is suggested. It is composed of two Self-Organizing Feature Maps by which the workspace of robot environment and the joint space of robot manipulator is inter-linked to enable the learning of the inverse kinematic relationship between workspace and joint space. The proposed model has been simulated with two robot manipulators, one, consisting of 2 links in 2-dimensional workspace and the other, consisting of 3 links in 2-dimensional workspace, and the performance has been tested by accuracy of the manipulator's positioning and the response time.

  • The Sambyeongudo(三變九圖) which was deducted from Cheonbu-Kyeong(天符經) is the figure about the principle of the Book of Changes in the mutual organic way, and the Five elements means the principle of Generation and the Sasang means the principle of Change, so Kugung of the concept of composing Five elements and Sasang means the principle of Generativechange, Sasangjeok-Ohaengkoan(四象的五行觀). As it is substituted to the human body, Five elements can be compared to the meridian system, Sasang can be compared to Eight extra meridians, and Kugung can be compared to Five su point Sasangjeok-Ohaengkoan. In addition, if Simpo and Samcho are compared to Cheon Ji In Samjae(天地人三才) of Trigrams, then 13 cure points can be deducted. If 13 cure points are substituted to Chilyojeongsa(七曜政事) and Moderation as another concept of Kugung, then all diseases can be cured regardless of the physical constitution and name of a disease.

  • The purpose of this paper was to discern the nature of socially acceptable corporal punishment through legal analysis. To do this, the researcher attempted to clarify the concept of corporal punishment, to figure out the current legal position about corporal punishment, and to examine the court cases against corporal punishment. The results of the study were as follows: Firstly, corporal punishment is intentional physical or emotional aversive stimuli to students who violated the rules and norms, to reduce or fix specific undesirable behaviors, by the person who is in charge of discipline of students. Secondly, current regulations do not accept corporal punishment in principle. Thirdly, court cases did not admit the corporal punishment in principle, but did not charge legal liability if the corporal punishment was done in proper manner in view of education. However, the judicial precedents are getting more strict focusing on the human rights of students.

  • With excellent mechanical properties and durability of concrete and construction materials so far because, as has been the most widely used. However, existing in the electrical conductivity of the concrete material is given the characteristics of the concrete can not expand a lot of applications. For example, the cathode material of a parameter, ground resistance materials, electromagnetic shielding materials, sense of self-diagnostic materials, and anti-static materials are available.   • The effect of sintering aids on the sinterability for silcion nitride has been studied by hundreds workers. However the effect of sintering aids on the machinability as the own trobles which is the major barrier for the field applications of the ceramic components has not been fully studied. in this study the contents of Al2O3 and Y2O3 in silicon nitride were varied from 0 to 8 wt% respectively. The physical and mechanical properties of the silcion nitride were measured. The optimal microstructure of silicon nitride balls with the excellent machinability by adding with various contents of sintering aids was studied by MGF(magnetic-fluid grinding)technique. An attempt to figure out how the mechanical properties influence the machinability of silicon-nitride ball was made.

  • This paper studies in terms of nonverbal communication the roles of Gut-clothinbgs used in Jin-Do Sit-gim Gut are classified as follows: 1) The message communicated through the ordinary clothings of a shaman is that he or she is waiting to serve as a presider of a Gut ceremony actiong as a mediator between the spirtual and the human world. 2) The shaman clothings representing many kinds of spirits are visualized figures which are closely related to the common wishes of most people in society e. g. physical and material well-being longevity fertility. 3) The clothings serve as a body figure in the Gut are classified into 5 groups. (1) Laid-on clothings give the message that the body is standing still. (2) Wrapped clothings serve as an incarnated body of the dead. (3) Spread clothings represent a lying body. (4) Oscillated clothings are the symbols of a spirit which moves from this world to another. (5) Burned clothings mean that the spirit has attained a complete seperation from this world.

  • In all Rapid Prototyping (RP) processes, a CAD solid model is sliced ito thin layers of uniform, but not necessarily constant, thickness in the building direction. Each cross-sectional layer is successively deposited and, at the same tim, bonded onto the previous layer; the stacked layers form a physical part of the model. The objective of this study is to develop a methode for calculating the rotational angle(θ/sub x/, θ/sub y/) of the linear hotwire cutting system in the three-dimensional space for the Variable Lamination Manufacturing process using expandable polystyrene foam sheet (VLM-S). In order to examine the applicability of the developed method to VLM-S, various three-dimensional shapes, such s a screw, an extruded cross, and a figure of Sonokong, were made using the data obtaiend from the method.

  • Drying process in the cylindrical thin film layer of sludge with the thickness less than a few millimeters has been investigated. Thin film drying is specially designed and used to dry the viscous materials like sewage sludge. The thin film layer of sludge is dried on the metallic cylindrical surface through which thermal energy is supplied to the layer during drying. The wall temperature is assumed to be constant during drying in the present study for the simplification. In order to solve the equations, the mass transfer rate on the drying surface should be determined. The mass flux of evaporated water vapor on the surface is estimated with the formulation given in the literature. The effect of some physical parameters on drying has been examined to figure out the drying characteristics of the sludge layer.

  • The effect of sintering conditions on the sinterability for silicon nitride has been studied by many in-vestigators. However the effect of sintering conditions on the machinability which is the major barrier to the field applications of the ceramic components has not been fully studied. In this study the sintering con-ditions such as temperature gas pressure and time in silicon nitride were varied. The physical and mechan-ical properties of the gas pressure sintered (GPS) silicon nitride were measured. The optimum mi-crostructure of silicon nitride with the excellent machinability was investigated by MFG(magnetic-fluid grinding) technique. An attempt was made to figure out how the mechanical properties influence upon the machinability of silicon nitride ball.
