To analyze the influence on the stability, resulting from application of upgrade pipe roof structure (UPRS) method to the structure existed under subway Station, physical properties of a ground, elasticity and elasto-plastic theories, including displacement analysis of finite elements, stress analysis of finite elements, displacement caused by steel pipe propulsion and internal excavation, and stress change in a steel pipe, were introduced. Then, the influence on structural stability when applying the UPRS method was compared and reviewed based on the construction management standard of the Ministry Land, Infrastructure and Transport and foreign sources, using numerical analysis with a model which assumes that each microelement divided into a structurally stable point consists of the connection of finite points. As a result of the finite element analysis, 7.21 mm maximum displacement, 1/3,950 angular displacement, 70.28 MPa bending compressive stress of steel pipe structure constructed with UPRS (non-excavation) method and 477.38 MPa maximum shear strength were within their allowable standards (25.00 mm, 1/500, 210.00 MPa and 120.00 MPa, respectively), and therefore, the results showed that the design and construction are stable.

Physical properties of composite resins such as strength, resistance to wear, discoloration, etc, depend on the degree of conversion of the resin components. The clinical behavior of restorative resins varies brand to brand. Part of this variation is associated with the filler and differences in the polymer matrix. The polymer matrix of resins may differ because the involved monomers are dissimilar and because of variation in the catalyst system. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the degree of conversion of the composite resins according to the depth of cure and light curing time. 7mm diameter cylindrical aluminum molds were filled with each of five different hybrid light curing composite resins(Z-100, Charisma, Herculite XRV, Prisma TPH, Veridonfil) on the thin resin films. The molds were 1mm, 2mm, 3mm, 4mm, and 5mm in depth to produce resin films of various heights. Each sample was given 20sec, 40sec, and 60sec illumination with a light source. The degree of conversion of carbon double bonds to single bonds in the resin films was examined by means of Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer. The results were obtained as follows; 1. There was difference in the degree of conversion among five light curing composite resins according to the depth of cure for 20sec, 40sec, and 60sec illumination with light source with statistical significance(P<0.05). 2. Five light curing composite resins show lower degree of conversion at surface of the resin than depth of 1mm. 3. The degree of conversion of five light curing composite resins was siginificantly reduced from the maximum for the resin film when the light passed through as little as 1mm of each composite. 4. The degree of conversion of five light curing composite resins decrease significantly at the depth of 4mm, and polymerization was not occured at the depth of 5mm except for Prisma TPH. 5. The degree of conversion of five light curing composite resins was increased with increased light curing time, and there was no significant differences in the degree of conversion above 4mm in Z-100, 3mm in Charisma, and at depth of 5mm in Herculite XRV and Veridonfil(P>0.05).
The internal structure of a river embankment must be delineated as part of investigations to evaluate its safety. Geophysical methods can be most effective means for that purpose, if they are used together with geotechnical methods such as the cone penetration test (CPT) and drilling. Since the dyke body and subsoil in general consist of material with a wide range of grain size, the properties and stratification of the soil must be accurately estimated to predict the mechanical stability and water infiltration in the river embankment. The strength and water content of the levee soil are also parameters required for such prediction. These parameters are usually estimated from CPT data, drilled core samples and laboratory tests. In this study we attempt to utilise geophysical data to estimate these parameters more effectively for very long river embankments. S-wave velocity and resistivity of the levee soils obtained with geophysical surveys are used to classify the soils. The classification is based on a physical soil model, called the unconsolidated sand model. Using this model, a soil profile along the river embankment is constructed from S-wave velocity and resistivity profiles. The soil profile thus obtained has been verified by geotechnical logs, which proves its usefulness for investigation of a river embankment.
The sericin fixation of silk fabrics by epoxy resins was studied in the presence of aqueous salt solution in different solvents at the indicated temperature for the desired time. Heavy weight gains were obtained in the reaction with glycerol diglycidyl ether (EX-313) and ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether (EX-810) catalyzed by potassium thiocyanate in such solvents as carbon tetrachloride and p-chloroethylene. The obtained results were summarized as follows; 1) The tested resins were found similar in reaction behavior to silk fabric. The effect of fixation and weight gains was higher in EX-810 than EX-313. 2) The weight gains were increased with reaction time and temperature, and degumming ratio reached a constant value in 90 min at 70$^{\circ}C$. 3) The weight gains and the degumming ratio reached an equilibrium at 3-5% of epoxy concentration. 4) The weight gains were remarkably influenced and increased by the concentration of salt solution. The degumming ratio reached an equilibrium over 0.5N concentration of salt. 5) The weight gains were increased with the dipping time in gently-sloping. The degumming ratio reached an equilibrium over 15 min dipping. 6) The effect of sericin fixation of hydrophobic solvents, such as Carbon Tetrachloride, p-Chloroeth-ylene, Cyclohexane, Xylene and Toluene, was found suitable. 7) The effect of drying temperature was not remarkable on the weight gains and the degumming ratio. 8) There was a slight decrease in the moisture regain of sericin-fixed silk and it may be possible to maintain the moisture regain in the sericin-fixed silk by the epoxy resins. 9) The results on testing physical properties of sericin-fixed silk fabric were as follows; The crease recovery was almost not different from undegummed fabric, but inferior to degummed fabric. The tensile strength was improving in accordance with the effect of sericin fixation, either the elongation did.

Recently, the government has been working feverously to save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emission by enacting Basic Act on Low Carbon Green Growth at the national level. Improving the insulation performance of building exterior and insulator can reduce the energy in the building sector. This study is about developing light-weight foamed concrete insulation panel that can be applied to buildings to save energy and to find the optimal condition for the development of insulation materials that can save energy by enhancing its physical, kinetic and thermal characteristics. Various experimental factors and conditions were considered in the study such as foam agent types (AES=Alcohol Ethoxy Sulfate, AOS=Alpha-Olefin Sulfonate, VS=Vegetable Soap, FP=Fe-Protein), foam agent dilution concentration (1, 3, 5%), and foam percentage (30, 50, 70%). Experiment results indicated that the surface tension of aqueous solution including foam agent, was lower when AOS was used over other foam agents. FP produced relatively stable foams in 3% or more, which produced unstable foams containing high water content and low surface tension when diluted at low concentration. Depending on foam agent types, compressive strength and thermal conductivity were similar at low density range but showed some differences at high concentration range. In addition, when concentrations of foam agent and foaming ratio increased, pore size increased and open pores are formed. In all types of foam agent, thermal conductivity were excellent, satisfying KS standards. The most outstanding performance for insulation panel was obtained when FP 3% was used.

The coronal portions of extracted human teeth (one anterior tooth, three posterior tooth) was embedded by pink denture material. the mounted teeth were cut into three illumination sections (1mm thickness enamel section, 1mm thickness dentin section, 2mm thicknes dentin section) and one backing section with cutting wheel. Thin resin films were made by using 6kg pressure between slide glass during 5 minutes Thin resin film was light cured on coupled illumination section during 40sec, 80sec and 120sec. each illumination section was coupled as follows; no tooth structure(X), ename section(E), enamel section + 1mm dentin section(ED1), enamel section + 2mm dentin section(ED2), enamel section + 1mm dentin section + 2mm dentin section(EDD). To simulate the clinical situation more closely, thin resin films was cured against a backing section of tooth structure. The degree of conversion of carbon double bonds to single bonds in the resin films were examined by means of Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer. The results were obtained as follows ; 1 As curing time was increased, conversion rate was increased and as tooth thickness which was penetrated by curing light was increased, conversion rate was decreased. 2. At all tooth thickness groups, conversion rate between 80sec and 120sec was not significantly increased(P>0.05). 3. At 40sec group and 80sec, conversion rate between no tooth structure(X) group and 1mm enamel section(E) group was not significantly decreased(P>0.05). 4. At 80sec group and 120sec, conversion rate between 1mm enamel section(E) group and 1mm enamel section + 1mm dentin section(ED1) group was not significantly decreased(P>0.05).

Each of the three cationized compounds synthesized previously, poly(OMA-co-DAMA)[PODC], poly(DMA-co-DAMA)[PDDC] and poly(EMA-co-DAMA)[PEDC] was blended with waxes, emulsifiers and cationized fatty carbamide(ODTCC) synthesized in this study for the preparation of some durable softening water-repellenting agents, PODCW, PDDCW and PEDCW. The results of washability, tearing strength, crease recovery and contact angle of the cotton fabrics treated with PODCW, PDDCW and PEDCW with and without textile finishing resin, showed remarkable improvement of the physical properties. Rating of water repellency of cotton fabric treated with PODCW was 80, but those treated with PDDCW and PEDCW were not high enough to use in industry. Proper curing temperature of the synthesized water-repelleting agents was $140^{\circ}C$; proper using concentration was 3wt%; sodium acetate was the best catalyst for water-repellenting agents among the used, and proper concentration was 0.6wt%. From the results of reaction mechanism of cellulosic fiber with water-repellenting agent and washability of the fibers treated with water-repellenting agents the prepared water-repellenting agent proved to be durable. Surface structures of cotton fabrics treated with water-repellenting agent were investigated by SEM.

Short-term variations of phytoplankton community structure in the southeast coastal waters of Korea from July to September in 2006 were investigated with data set of phytoplankton, chemical and physical water properties, and meterological data. A total of 11 sampling sites of 4 different depths (surface, 5 m, 10 m, and bottom) were visited on July 11-14, July 24-26, August 7-10, August 21-24 and September 5-8. We identified 151 species in 63 genera of phytoplankton in which diatoms were the most diverse group composed of 92 species in 37 genera. Dinoflagellates were the second diverse group of 52 species in 22 genera. The other groups include 7 species in 4 genera including Raphidophytes, and Euglenophyta. After rainy season, excessive nutrients from adjacent streams to the stratified water column proliferates Chaetoceros group in July. But biomass of phytoplankton and nutrient concentrations were decreased during the period of a drought in August. However, Chaetoceros was the most dominant genera in all depths of the first, second, third and fifth cruises, except the 4th cruise on August 21-24 when dominant group were dinoflagellates including Gymnodinium spp. and Cochlodinium polykrikoides. The characteristic of phytoplankton community and environment condition during summer 2006 can be summarized as: 1) low concentration of nutrients caused by a long lasting drought in August 2) no summer outbreak of C. polykrikoides because the strength of offshore waters was weak than other years, and 3) Chaetoceros spp. was the dominant species despite short period appearance of dinoflagellates.

Porous media for sewage treatment were developed through a pyrolysis process of food wastes with loess in the study. This work was carried out in two consecutive stages; in the first stage, new porous media were prepared through a high temperature pyrolysis process, and then the resultant media were applied to a simple lab-scale sewage treatment process in the second stage. To determine the optimum operating conditions of pyrolysis and mixing ratio of materials, physical properties such as specific surface area, porosity and compressive strength of final products were analyzed. The removal efficiencies of TOC and COD were measured to evaluate the effectiveness of resultant porous media. As a result of the experiment, we found that the best mixing ratio of food wastes to loess was 1 : 1 at $1,100^{\circ}C$. Average porosity of the developed media was 37.0%, in which pore size ranged from 1 to $20{\mu}m$, showing quite vigorous microbial activation. After immersing the media into a reactor for sewage treatment for eight days, removal efficiencies of TOC and COD were 87.3% and 85.0%, respectively.
Preparation of sea mustard stem jam (SMSJ) with addition of commercial ingredients, sucrose, high methoxyl pectin (HM pectin) or low methoxyl pectin (LM pectin), organic acid (or its salt), and synthetic strawberry flavor to sea mustard stem paste was investigated. The sea mustard stem paste was produced by crushing sea mustard stem and homogenizing it with 2.5 times water of sea mustard stem, then followed by filtering ($30{\~}35 mesh$), The effects of those ingredients on the physical properties and the sensory score of SMSJ were evaluated. The SMSJ prepared with combination of $65{\%}$ (w/w) sugar, $1.0{\%}$ (w/w) pectin, and $0.3{\%}$ (w/w) citric acid or with combination of $65{\%}$ (w/w) sugar, $1.0{\%}$ (w/w) U pectin, and $0.08{\%}$ (w/w) calcium lactate, which finally adjusted to $62{\cdot}Brix$, was similar to commercial strawberry or apple jam in gel strength, Addition of over $0.06{\%}$ (v/w) synthetic strawberry flavor to sea mustard stem paste showed a good effect of masking the undesirable sea mustard flavor.
