A $Pd/TiO_2$ catalyst was prepared by a conventional impregnation method, and further characterized using transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The as-prepared material was employed to accelerate dehydrogenation of potassium formate in the presence of light at different temperatures. The $Pd/TiO_2$ catalyst showed distinct dehydrogenation activities, and particularly, the material exhibited a higher turnover frequency (TOF) of $2,097h^{-1}$ at $80^{\circ}C$ after 10 minutes in the presence of light compared to that (TOF of $1,477h^{-1}$) obtained in the absence of light. Numerous analytical techniques suggest that the increased dehydrogenation activity likely originates from light-excited electron and hole at the photocatalyst, i.e., $TiO_2$, in conjunction with metal-support interaction.

$TiO_2$ thin films were fabricated by RF magnetron sputtering system at by controlling deposition times, ratios of $Ar:O_2$ partial presser ratio and substrate conditions. And the surface, cross-section morphology, microstructure, and composition ratio of the films were analyzed by FE-SEM, TEM and XPS. Besides, the optical absorption and transmittance of the $TiO_2$ films were measured by a UV-VIS-NIR Spectrophotometer, and photocatalytic properties were studied by G${\cdot}$C Analyzer & Data Analysis system. As the result, when $TiO_2$ thin film was made at deposition time of 120[min] and $Ar:O_2$ ratio of 60:40, the best structural and optical properties among many thin films could be accepted. The best results of properties were as follows: thickness; 360~370[nm), grain size; 40[nm], gap between two peak binding energy; $5.8{\pm}0.05[eV]$ ($2_{p3/2}$ peak and $2_{p1/2}$ peak of Ti was show at $458.3{\pm}0.05[eV]$ and $464.1{\pm}0.05[eV]$ respectively), binding energy; $530{\pm}0.05[eV]$, optical energy band gap; 3.4[eV].

The hydrogen($H_2$) is promising energy carrier of renewable energy in the microgrid system such as small village and military base due to its high energy density, pure emission and convenient transportation. $H_2$ can be generated by photocatalytic water splitting, gasification of biomass and water electrolysis driven by solar cell or wind turbine. Solid oxide electrolysis cells(SOECs) are the most efficient way to mass production due to high operating temperature improving the electrode kinetics and reducing the electrolyte resistance. The SOECs are consist of nickel-yttria stabilized zirconia(NiO-YSZ) fuel electrode / YSZ electrolyte / lanthanum strontium manganite-YSZ(LSM-YSZ) air electrode due to similarity to Solid Oxide Fuel Cells(SOFCs). The Ni-YSZ most widely used fuel electrode shows several problems at SOEC mode such as degradation of the fuel electrode because of Ni particle's redox reaction and agglomeration. Therefore Ni-YSZ need to be replaced to an alternative fuel electrode material. In this study, We studied on the Double perovskite $PrBrMnO_{5+{\delta}}$(PBMO) due to its high electric conductivity, catalytic activity and electrochemical stability. PBMO was impregnated into the scaffold electrolyte $La_{0.8}Sr_{0.2}Ga_{0.85}Mg_{0.15}O_{3-{\delta}}$(LSGM) to be synthesized at low temperature for avoiding secondary phase generated when it exposed to high temperature. The Half cell test was conducted at SOECs and SOFCs modes.

$TiO_2$ films on soda-lime-silica glasses were prepared by spin coating-pyrolysis process using titanium naphthenate as a starting material. As-deposited films were pyrolyzed at $500^{\circ}C$ for 10 min in air and annealed at 500, 550 and $600^{\circ}C$ for 30 min in air. Crystallinity of the film was investigated by X-ray diffraction analysis. A field emission-scanning electron microscope and an atomic force microscope were used for characterizing the surface morphology and the surface roughness of the film. After annealing at 550 and $600^{\circ}C$, the X-ray diffraction patterns consist of only anatase peak. Films annealed at 500 and $550^{\circ}C$ exhibited flat surfaces. While with the increase in annealing temperature to $600^{\circ}C$, the $TiO_2$ film showed abnormal growth of three-dimensional needle-shaped grains. For all samples, high transmittance, above 90 % at 500 nm, was obtained at visible range. To investigate photocatalytic properties, IR absorbance associated with the C-H stretching vibrations of a thin solution-cast film of stearic acid under 365 nm (2.4 mW/$\textrm{cm}^2$) UV irradiation was estimated.

Recently, the use of TiO2 as a phtocatalyst has been diversely investigated due to its excellent durability performance and high photocatalytic reaction efficiency. Active researches have particularly focused on the development of TiO2-incorporated cementitious composites in order to remove the atmospheric pollutants. Furthermore, the potential utilization of TiO2-incorporated cementitious composites as road accessories such as tunnels, road median separators and soundproof walls in the form of tiles, blocks and structural components has been widely examined. In this regard, a thorough understanding on the material characteristics of TiO2-incorporated cementitious composites should be preceded. The present overview article, therefore, revisits previous studies of TiO2-incorporated cementitious composites and summarizes their various physicochemical properties and atmospheric pollutants removal performance.

Super hydrophilic and high transparent $TiO_2$ thin films were successfully fabricated by sol-gel method without an irradiation of UV light. In addition, surfactant Tween 80 was used for increasing the transmittance of the thin films. When the contents of Tween 80 in $TiO_2$ solution were 0.0, 1.0, 3.0, 5.0 wt%, the transmittance of $TiO_2$ thin films was ca. 74.31%, 74.25%, 79.69%, 81.99% at 550 nm wavelength, respectively. The contact angles of fabricated $TiO_2$ thin films with or without Tween 80 were from ca. $4.0^{\circ}$ to $4.5^{\circ}$. The $TiO_2$ thin films annealed over $400^{\circ}C$ showed anatase crystal structure and the photocatalytic property that decomposed methyl orange with UV irradiation. The surface morphologies, optical properties and contact angle of prepared thin films with different contents of Tween 80 were evaluated by field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), X-ray diffratometer (XRD), UV-Vis spectrophotometer and contact angle meter.

Thin film of $TiO_2$ was obtained by the sol-gel dip method on the brosilicate glass substrate. It was found that the film was about $1.5{\mu}m$ thick as obtained by 4 successive coatings and annealed at varied temperatures ranged from $300^{\circ}C$ to $1100^{\circ}C$ for 2 hrs. The substrate used was having the surface area of $100mm^2$. Increasing the annealing temperature caused to change in mineralogical phase of titanium oxide i.e., amorphous, crystalline antase to rutile phases. The particle size of the titanium oxide film were ranged from $0.1{\sim}0.54{\mu}m$ estimated by the SEM analysis. The material showed an absorbance maximum at the wavelength 390nm obtained by UV-visible spectrophotometer. These results therefore, indicated that the $TiO_2$ film obtained relatively at low annealing temperature consisted predominantly with anatase phase; possessed higher photocatalytic behavior i.e., 2.4 times higher than that of only UV lamp irradiation.

In the area of high traffic volume, such as expressway across large cities, the amount of nitrogen oxides (NOx) emitted into the atmosphere as air pollution can be significant since NOx gases are the major cause of smog and acid rain. Recently, the importance of NOx removal has arisen in the world. Titanium dioxide ($TiO_2$), that is one of photocatalytic reaction material, is very efficient for removing NOx. Therefore, application of $TiO_2$ concrete is a good alternative in order to remove NOx which is a main cause of air pollution. This experimental study aimed to evaluate the long-term performance of $TiO_2$ concrete such as NOx removal efficiency due to performance period and environmental resistance for application of road structures. It was found that the $TiO_2$ is reasonable applicable on the road structure because $TiO_2$ concrete has a long-term performance.

Titanium dioxide is a suitable material for industrial use at present and in the future because titanium dioxide has efficient photoactivity, good stability and low cost [1]. Among the three phases (anatase, rutile, brookite) of titanium dioxide, the anatase form is particularly photocatalytically active under ultraviolet (UV) light. In fabrication of photocatalytic devices based on catalytic nanodiodes [2], it is challenging to obtain a photocatalytically active TiO2 thin film that can be prepared at low temperature (< 200$^{\circ}C$). Here, we present the synthesis of a titanium dioxide film using TiO2 nanoparticles and sol-gel methods. Titanium tetra-isopropoxide was used as the precursor and alcohol as the solvent. Titanium dioxide thin films were made using spin coating. The change of atomic structure was monitored after heating the thin film at 200$^{\circ}C$ and at 350$^{\circ}C$. The prepared samples have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microcopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-vis), and ellipsometry. XRD spectra show an anatase phase at low temperature, 200$^{\circ}C$. UV-vis confirms the anatase phase band gap energy (3.2 eV) when using the photocatalyst. TEM images reveal crystallization of the titanium dioxide at 200$^{\circ}C$. We will discuss the switching behavior of the Pt /sol-gel TiO2 /Pt layers that can be a new type of resistive random-access memory.

Dye sensitized solar cells(DSSC) are the most promising future energy resource due to their high energy efficiency, low production cost, and simple manufacturing process. But one problem in DSSC is short life time compared to silicon solar cells. This problem occurred from photocatalytic degradation of dye material by nanometer sized $TiO_2$ particles. To prevent dye degradation as well as to increase its life time, the transparent coating film is needed for UV blocking. In this study, we synthesized nanometer sized $TiO_2$ particles in sols by increasing its internal pressure up to 200 bar in autoclave at $120^{\circ}C$ for 10 hrs. The synthesized $TiO_2$ sols were all formed with brookite phase and their particle size was several nm to 30 nm. Synthesized $TiO_2$ sols were coated on the backside of fluorine doped tin oxide(FTO) glass by ink jet printing method. With increasing coating thickness by repeated ink jet coating, the absorbance of UV region (under 400 nm) also increases reasonably. Decomposition test of titania powders dispersed in 0.1 mM amaranth solution covered with $TiO_2$ coating glass shows more stable dye properties under UV irradiation, compared to that with as-received FTO glass.
