리빙 씨어터: 탄생과 소멸에 관한 사적(史的) 연구 (The Living Theatre: A History Study of Its Birth and Death)

  • Concentrating on the birth, life, and death of the Living Theatre, almost half a century avant-garde group, the primary purpose of this study at large is to explore its counter-cultural philosophy. While taking a chronological form adapting the biological order, the paper focuses on the troupe's productions: , , , , and . Through out these productions the philosophy of the Living Theatre seemed to included communal, anti-intellectual, politically radical, generally Utopian, and proselytizers for sexual freedom. The history of the Living Theatre interestingly parallels the history of the Beck's theatre in occupation and shut down. The first New York theatre was closed by fire inspectors for instance. The second theatre was declared unsafe, and locked up by the Building Department. The third theatre was seized by the IRS, consequently shut down. In 1984, after more than 25years from the third building, the Living Theatre settled once again on East Third Street in Manhattan. The theatre was however evacuated by the New York City Fire Department in 1993 and once more took to the road. With these struggles, the Becks' profound aspiration of the counter-cultural insurgency came to harden as strong as 'iron' in some ways. With the outstanding components of counter-cultural philosophy and style, the Living Theatre, in the course of the transformation, absorbed and then reflected virtually every phase for the Living Theatre were vehicles for more than just aesthetics. The group seemed to propagandize its beliefs rather performing productions. Accordingly, both on and off-stage action of the Living Theatre caused great controversy either through political activism of individual members or through the unconventional collective life style. No avant-garde theatre company was more emblematic of the rebellious spirit of the sixties than the Living Theatre. Like the first great transformation, the Becks' encounter, their personal values and the form of theatre they created had blended 'so inextricably that the vitality of each was dependent on the other.' The Becks always urged unity and harmony at all levels of human life, but not at any price. The anticapitalist ideal inspired the Becks to promote a politically motivated campaign throughout their productions. They believed the revolution is desirable but in the state of non-violence and the expansion of human consciousness. Julian Beck's gravestone identifies his as pet, painter, actor, and anarchist. The Living Theatre was a 'small umbrella' under which the Becks and its members could breath and unfold their dream on stage or in the street.

철학상담과 여성주의상담 (Philosophical Counseling and Feminist Counseling)

  • 최근 철학의 새로운 분야로 부상하고 있는 철학상담은 1981년 아헨바흐(Achenbach)에 의해 '철학실천'이라는 용어로 창안되었다. 철학상담은 상담가인 철학자로 하여금 학계라는 울타리를 벗어나 애초에 실제 삶의 맥락으로부터 시작되었던 '철학함'을 회복시키고자 노력한다. 또한 철학상담은 삶의 위기에 처한 내담자들로 하여금 자신의 삶을 근본적으로 재검토하고 새롭게 직면할 수 있는 기회를 제공함으로써, 그 스스로의 모습을 되찾고, 자신이 원하는 삶을 실현시키기 위해 다시 용기를 내어 걸어갈 수 있도록 독려한다. 이 논문의 목적은 철학상담과 여성주의상담을 비교검토함으로써 한국 여성들을 위한 철학상담의 새로운 모델을 창출하는 데에 필요한 첫 윤곽을 잡아보려는 데에 있다. 우선적으로 2장에서 철학상담의 역사와 특성을 소개한 뒤에, 3장에서 '여성의전화'의 상담활동을 중심으로 한국에서의 여성주의상담이 지나온 역사와 그 특성을 고찰한다. 나아가 4장에서 양자의 내용적인 공통점들을 찾아내어 비교검토하면서 양자를 더욱 심도있게 이해하고 그 관계성을 더욱 촉진시키고자 시도한다. 그리하여 비록 철학상담과 한국 여성주의상담이 서로 다른 역사적, 사회적, 문화적 맥락과 배경에서 시작되었고, 각기 다른 활동영역에서 전개되어왔지만, 다음의 네 가지 공통적인 신념, 즉 '실천이라는 토대에서의 상담', '상담가와 내담자의 평등한 관계의 확립', '상담가의 경청과 자기개방의 중요성', '깊은 존중과 이해에 기반한 내담자의 자기됨과 자기양육'에 근거하고 있음을 밝혀본다. 이와 같이 볼 때, 두 상담 모두가 진정으로 '인간다운 삶'의 실현을 목표로 하고 있음을 알 수 있으며, 특히 철학상담이 앞으로 한국 여성들의 '잘 삶'을 증진시킬 수 있는 구체적인 대화의 기회를 제공할 수 있으리라 기대한다.

  • I have taught various case audit underwriting methods to underwriters for many years. Underwriting requires specialized medical knowledge and experience of comprehensive individual risk analysis. Decisions in individualized underwriting depend on the insurance company's management philosophy and vision, marketing strategies, culture, product line etc. They also depend on the information acquired through proposal forms, inspection reports, laboratory results and disclosures. Underwriters match this acquired information to each insurance product, search appropriate medical resources, assess the probabilities of future claims, and decide what, if any, further medical information should be gathered. Sources include doctors' reports, medical records, biopsies, blood and urine tests, CT, MRI, Holter monitoring, sonography etc. Insurance medical directors help and teach underwriters to analyze individual medical risks and make effective.

  • 이 글의 목적은 오일러의 삶, 업적, 그리고 사상을 살펴봄으로써 그것들이 칼빈 주의적 세계관에 근거한 것임을 보이고, 오일러가 우리에게 주는 의미를 찾아보려는 것이다. 후학들이 오일러를 통해 얻을 수 있는 교훈은 수학을 이해하려 할 때 수학 이전의 철학적 토대와 역사적 배경에 대한 성찰을 간과해서는 안 되며, 특히 한 수학자를 온전히 이해하려면 그의 세계관에 주목할 필요가 있다는 것이다. 또한 의미 있는 성취를 위해서는 좋은 환경을 바라기보다는 주어진 조건과 환경을 뛰어넘는 치열한 자기 극복의 노력이 필요하다는 것이다.

  • As for the practical purpose of mathematics education, the extrinsic purpose is emphasized. As an alternative to this, a discussion on mathematics education as a character education is urgently requested. It can be said that the main purpose of learning mathematics is to have a form of life that values the form and structure of mathematics. The epistemological basis of such an idea can be seen as based on Kant's philosophy. Kant's epistemology can provide one answer to the question of the intrinsic purpose of mathematics education.

카사 바트요의 조형적 특성과 가우디의 건축적 사고 연구 (A Study on Design Characteristics in Casa Battle and Gaudi′s Philosophy of Architecture)

  • The purpose of this study is to interpret Gaudi's philosophy of architecture through an analysis of the design characteristics in his remodeling of Casa Battlo. A review of the literature related to Casa Battlo as well as a field study in Barcelona to see the building were made for this study. The conclusions were as follows; Casa Battle is one of the best examples of Gaudi's attempts at creating a surreal atmosphere and should be evaluated in light of the following considerations: 1) Casa Battle as a remodeled house presented its own restrictions to Gaudi that he overcame by introducing characteristic design elements into the remodeling process; 2) the achievement, a perfect sculpture expressing continuity through a gorgeous colour scheme using different materials and design motifs with a dynamic spiral shape, originated from Gaudi's observations of nature and his experiences working in modeling studios; 3) a visualized embodiment of Gaudi's naturalism and functionalism through the impression of perpetual movement and continuity as formative symbols of genesis, life, death, and transmigration of the soul, originated from Gaudi's personal experiences of the early deaths of several close family members; 4) the design is meant to show the same processes of creation used by nature rather than a mere imitation of nature. Gaudi was not only a person dedicated obsessively to his profession as an architect, but also a rationalist fundamentally in the way he operated. It was expected that this study could be employed as a small stimulus to challenge the paradigm of housing remodeling projects -a hot issue in today's Korea- especially in their philosophical aspect.

  • Jules Henri Poincare was great not only as a mathematician brit also as a philosopher of science. He received many honors for his outstanding research. He was elected to the Academie des Sciences in 1887 and was elected President of tile Academy in 1906. In 1908 he was elected to the Academie Francaise and was elected director in the year of his death. The Poincare Conjecture was selected Millennium Prize Problems fly The Clay Mathematics Institute of Cambridge, Massachusetts(CMI). The Board of Directors of CMI have designated a $1 million prize fund for the solution to his problem. In this paper, Poincare's major works, his life, his philosophy and the Poincare Conjecture are given.

중국신문학과 니체철학 - 곽말약(郭沫若)과 모순(茅盾)의 니체사상 수용을 중심으로 (The Modern Chinese Literature and Philosophy of Nietzsche: Focusing Acceptance of the Nietzsche's Philosophy on Guo Mo Ruo and Mao Dun)

  • Nietzsche in the early 20th century, many Western thought came to China pushed the time, who want to reform the Chinese young intellectuals was a great welcome. Around 5.4 times writers representing China Journalism Guo Mo ruo Mao Dun and social needs of the times according to the spirit, according to their ideology, no tubes and four optional understand Nietzsche. Was acceptable, in the process, Nietzsche was transformed hem into various forms. In this paper, two Guo Mo ruo Mao Dun accept Nietzsche as Nietzsche socreated their own awards and also looked at these similarities and difference. Nietzsche Guo Mo ruo the remnants of the old feudal ideas and traditions were to break down and accept only select perspective. Nietzsche's self-discovery and individual liberty, and against the reality and accept the terms of loan 5.4 seconds, an ideal Nietzsche award was created. However Guo Mo ruo particular aspect of the acceptance of Nietzsche, whereas Nietzsche regarded as an extreme pessimist history, and his extreme caution and idealistic form of individualism was often criticized. 사부송유목록에 대한 연구 (A study on the Sabu-Songyu-Mongnok(사부송유목록), or a Classified Catalogue for Recitation and Appreciation of Classics)

  • This paper is written to clarify the specific details of the Sabu-Songyu­Mongnok(사부송유목록). which is a reading list for recitation and appreciation of Chinese classics edited by Hong Suk-Chu(1774-1842) when he was 56 years old for the stimulation of his younger brother Hyun-Ju (1793-1865)'s reading life. In this study the catalogue's title interpretation. the time of the editing, the motive for the editing and the analysis of the contents are revealed as what they actually are. The main details are as followings. There is no date written on the Sabu-Songyu-Mongnok but the writer estimate it to be around 1829. After Hong Suk-Chu recognized the fact that although his younger brother Hyun-Ju was interested in reading but felt that he was a little too old to begin to read all the books of the whole classes. he selected the classic works from whole subjects, i.e. history, philosophy and anthology, that he thought which would best represent each subject. From these selected works he then picked out the most important chapters or parts of the works. Another motivation of the editing was for the stimulation of the reading life for Hong Suk-chu himself and for people like himself who were getting old and losing their vitality. The Sabu-Songyu-Mongnok consists of four categories. i.e. classics category, history category, philosophy category and anthology category, and in the catalogue, 26 different works are entered. The classics category has ten, the history category has six, the philosophy category has six and the anthology category has four. Each of the works are entered under the title of the book, and hen the chapter heading. The Sabu-Songyu-Mongnok was edited 19 years later than Hong-ssi toksorok(홍씨독서록) or an Annotated Bibliography of Korean and Chinese Books. Comparing each category of the catalogue with the Hong-ssi toksorok, the writer could catch the following characteristics. 1. Although there was no indication of the class heading, the sequence of the arrangement of the entries in the classics categories was the same as the sequence of the classes in the Hong-ssi toksorok. 2. The Zuo-shi Chun-qiu-zhuan(좌씨춘추전) is recorded in the class of Chunqiu of the classics category in the Hong-ssi toksorok, but in the Sabu-Songyu­Mongnok, it belongs to the history category. 3. In the philosophy category of the catalogue, Chuangtzu(장자) writings are included because it is so well written. 4. Unlike the categories of classics, history and anthology, the philosophy category is recorded under the author's name. This is fascinating because it unites with the conventional cataloguing practice of the west. 5. In the anthology category, the writings with the best styles from the Chuci(초사) or the poems of Chou, Wen-xuan(문선), wen-yuan-ying-hua(문여영화) are selected and classified into four parts: (1) poems, (2) proses of Han, Wei and Pre-Qin dynasties. (3) Si-liu-pian-li-wen(사육병려문), (4) classic style of writings of Tang and Song dynasties (당송고문). 6. There was an unusually large number of Han Yu's writings selected from the great eight poets of Tang and Song dynasty writings. (20 categories out of $43: 47\%)$ After comparing the entries of the Sabu-Songyu-Mongnok, it can be concluded that all the entries were also included in the Hong-ssi tokrorok. The fact that the sequence of the entries in the classics category and that the literary works were sequenced under the same subject by the year of editing or writing like as the Hong-ssi toksorok Also it is unusual that there was not even one literary work of a Korean in the catalogue. Anyhow this catalogue is the first recitation catalogue in our country that was edited for the people in the prime of life as well as for old people and is the only one existing today.
