  • In an ubiquitous environment, for controlling user access according to environment of users, a number of access control models enforcing dynamic environment of users have been proposed. However, they do not support personalized environments of each user and have a run-time overhead of searching active roles. In this paper, we propose a new model, PE-RBAC, that extends the RBAC architecture by addition of a personalized environment component as a constraint to accommodate dynamic and mobile users. In this model, a dynamic role activation is presented by using a new role-to-environment structure instead of the conventional role hierarchy, which makes it efficient to find the active roles according to a user's personalized environment.

  • The Purpose of this study is to help children practice environmentally friendliness by promoting Personalized Environment. Therefore, implemented the project 'Environment' that included natural and social environment in the area that had high potential energy for environmental education, it was explored how the project affects the personalized environment of students. The project 'Environment' was implemented, usually focused on field trips. 35 study subjects were selected from 2 classes in D elementary school in D city The study was conducted from march 2004 to November 2004. Research material was collected from participant observation, in-depth interview, products from teaching-learning process, diary, and video record Ethnographic research was used. Study data were analyzed 3 times. 1st analysis was needed to collect data related to students' senses of and interests in environment, and to shape the framework related to the theme. End analysis was used to categorize the main factors such as knowledge understanding, function, value attitude, action, which all affect the personalized environment of students. In 3rd analysis, it was examined what affected the personalized environment of children and the related factors were logically, objectively inferred and analyzed. The results of the study were as follows: First, the project 'Environment' developed children's knowledge and understanding about environment. Second, the children formed proper values and attitudes towards environment. Third, the children came to develop their learning abilities on environment. Fourth, the children came to have environmentally friendliness in everyday lives. Consequently, the project 'Environment' helped children to have Personalized Environment.

  • The rapid increase in the number of patients with chronic diseases is an important public healthcare issue in many countries, which accelerates many studies on a healthcare system that can, whenever and wherever, extract and process patient data. A patient with a chronic disease conducts self-management in an out-of-hospital environment, particularly in an at-home environment, so it is important to provide integrated and personalized healthcare services for effective care. To help provide effective care for chronic disease patients, we propose a service flow and a new cloud-based personalized healthcare system architecture supporting both at-home and at-hospital environments. The system considers the different characteristics of at-hospital and at-home environments, and it provides various chronic disease care services. A prototype implementation and a predicted cost model are provided to show the effectiveness of the system. The proposed personalized healthcare system can support cost-effective disease care in an at-hospital environment and personalized self-management of chronic disease in an at-home environment.

  • The 'Anytime, Anywhere' services have been the biggest topic in the recent digital broadcasting research area. The related applications for the Anytime and Anywhere Services are as follows: the personalized broadcasting based on the PVR (Personal Video Recorder) for the Anytime Services, and the DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting), the mobile devices supporting the wireless network and the Second TV and so on for the anywhere services. The personalized broadcasting has been researched on the one of the killer applications in the various broadcasting environment - the ground wave broadcasting, the satellite broadcasting, IPTV and CATV broadcasting suchlike. The applied contents of the personalized broadcasting have advanced from the main contents for the broadcasting to the interstitial contents like advertisements and coupons, the personalized interstitial broadcasting needs to develop the technology about the generation, storing and management of the interstitial metadata. but, the personalized broadcasting has the limitation that the TV environment is somewhat difficult to support the personalized broadcasting individually, because all family usually share the main TV at home. The Second TV is possible to solve the environmental limitation. This paper designs and develops the static set top box at home, the Second TV and their multimedia streaming techniques for the personalized broadcasting of the contents including the interstitial contents.

  • As the wireless communication technology advances rapidly, a personalization technology can be incorporated with the mobile Internet environment, which is based on location-based services to support more accurate personalized services. A location-based personalized recommender system is one of the essential technologies of the location-based application services, and is also a crucial technology for the ubiquitous environment. In this paper we propose a framework of a location-based personalized recommender system for the mobile Internet environment. The proposed system consists of three modules the interface module, the neighbor selection module and the prediction and recommendation module. The proposed system incorporates the concept of the recommendation system in the Electronic Commerce along with that of the mobile devices for possible expansion of services on the mobile devices. Finally a service scenario for entertainment recommendation based on the proposed recommender system is described.

  • Personalized recommendation technology is one of the most important technologies in electronic commerce environment. It helps users overcome information overload by suggesting information that match user's interests. In e-commerce environment, both mobile device users and smart device users have risen dramatically. It creates new challenges. Our method suggests product information that match user's device interests beyond only user's interests. We propose a device-centered personalized recommendation method. Our method uses both purchase and share behavior for user's devices interests. Moreover, it considers data type preference for each device. This paper presents a new recommendation method and algorithm. Then, an e-commerce scenario with a computer, a smartphone and an AI-speaker are described. The scenario shows our work is better than previous researches.

  • TV-Anytime specification provides metadata standards for personalized broadcasting service. For personalized broadcasting service, the metadata is transmitted through the specific way to the employed broadcasting system. In an MPEG-2 environment. the metadata can be transmitted using Sections, objects within a DSM-CC Object Carousel or modules within a DSM-CC Data Carousel. In this paper, we introduce a TV-Anytime metadata delivery method within Object Carousel which is used in ATSC-ACAP and DVB-MHP, We describe an actual example of unidirectional personalized broadcasting which is implemented on an ATSC-ACAP data broadcasting receiver, where the metadata is delivered as objects within a DSM-CC Object Carousel.

  • TV-Anytime metadata can be delivered by unidirectional or bi-directional network. In bi -directional environment, the special request of a client is sent to metadata service providers and then the providers provide the personalized metadata back to the client. In this paper. we introduce the design and implementation of a broadcasting receiver for personalized broadcasting service in bi-directional environment. We describe actual system configuration and usage examples for bi-directional personalized service. The implemented receiver provides various functions for a digital broadcasting recorder and is based on TV-Anytime specification and UDDI specification to provide the metadata service discovery.
