The role of consumer self-confidence is important in consumer's purchase decision. Nevertheless, the use of self-esteem measures might cause misinformation in the specific situation of the marketing-related point of view. In this study, consumer self-confidence was measured by marketing oriented tools to clarify the dimensions of consumer self-confidence while the influence of consumer self-confidence on clothing satisfaction was also investigated. A total of 325 questionnaires were collected by surveying university students in Seoul and the surrounding metropolitan area using convenient sampling. The data were analysed by factor analysis, ANOVA, t-test, and regression by using SPSSWIN program. The findings of the study were as fellows. First, the consumer self-confidence was composed of 6 sub-scales: information acquisition, personal outcomes decision making, social outcomes decision making, consideration-set formation, persuasion knowledge, and marketplace interfaces. Second, female subjects rated higher on consumer self-confidence than male subjects did in social outcomes decision making and consideration-set formation. Third, higher income was correlated with higher social outcomes decision making and consideration-set formation. Finally, clothing satisfaction was influenced by personal outcomes decision making and information acquisition.

The purpose of this study was to analyze. The effect of participation physical activities on health care patterns in the aged. The subject of the study was selected by multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling among the aged center and aged club to participate program whose age were 65 and over year old among inhabitant the Kwangju metropolitan area. The data were collected through a questionnaire adapted from Payne and Hahn's(1986) 'Understanding Your Health-A personal profile; Evaluating Your Health'. The pilot test was executed after the questionnaire was translated into Korean.

Automatic transmission of data from the blood analyzer to the request site is one of the most important part in hospital computerization. We have developed a system to automatically transmit the data from the atrial blood gas analyzer. In this system, HOST computer, FILE server, LAN(Local Area Network), 3270 Emulator and Multi-port card were integrated. Also, 3 blood gas analyser(NOVA Inc., USA) were connected to a single multi-port card which is attached in a personal computer for data acquisition. When specimen is collected from sampling sites, it is transfered to the lab. After analysis, the result is transmitted to the personal computer via serial communication between machine and multi-port card using interrupt method. Then, the patient's information (Name, Sex, etc.) is obtained from the HOST computer througth the emulator. The combined data(patient information & lab data) is transmitted to the each request site via LAN automatically. From the collected data, patient's previous data could be reviewed, and it could be used for the various statistics and the flow chart for clinical research. Also, we found that this system reduces the personal labor.

Ultra-wideband communication systems based on impulse radio have merits that are possible for the high data rate transmission, high resolution ranging are positioning system. Conventionally, in order to accomplish these features, the high-speed ADC (Analog to Digital Convertor) is necessary to apply radio determination system operating in time domain. However, considering low rate - wireless personal area network (LR-WPAN) aims to low-cost hardware implementation, the expensive ADC converting GHz sampling per second is not appropriate. So, this paper introduces a low complex AR (Auto Regressive) model based non-coherent ranging scheme operating in frequency domain with using low-speed ADC utilizing analog Voltage Control Oscillator (VCO) mode for the frequency domain transformation. To verify the superiority of the proposed ranging and location algorithm working in frequency domain, the suggested IEEE 802.15.4a TG channel model is used to exploit affirmative features of the proposed algorithm with conducting the simulation results.
Objectives: A great number of hazardous agents can be emitted from various types of art-creation in a fine arts college, but little data on exposure assessment has been published. A variety of processes encompassing toxic or non-toxic materials, tools, and components are involved in a sculptor work at a fine art college. The aim of this study was to assess exposure levels to particulates and noise during sculpture classes in a college of fine arts. Methods: Students in sculpture classes participated in this study. Mass, number, and surface area concentrations of particulates, noise level, temperature and relative humidity were monitored by both personal and area sampling during the tasks of metal, wood, and stone sculpting. Results: The number and surface concentration of particulates was the highest in the task of wood sculpting, followed by metal and stone work. The mass concentration of particulates was the highest in stone sculpting (personal GM 3.0 mg/$m^3$, GSD 3.0), followed by wood (personal GM 1.5 mg/$m^3$, GSD 1.8) and metal work (personal GM 0.95 mg/$m^3$, GSD 1.51) in that order. Occupational exposure limits (OEL) for particulates depends on the type of particulate. For wood dust, 86% (six subjects) of the personal samples and all area samples exceeded the Korean OEL for wood dust (1 mg/$m^3$), while 20% (two subjects) among stone sculpting students were exposed above the Korean OEL (10 mg/$m^3$). In contrast, metal sculpting did not exceed the OEL (5 mg/$m^3$). For noise level, metal sculpting students (Leq 95.1 dB(A) in the morning, 85.3 dB(A) in the afternoon) were exposed the most, followed by stone sculpting (88.3 dB(A)), and wood sculpting (84.8 dB(A)) in that order. Compared with the 90 dB(A) of the Korean OEL and 85 dB(A) of the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists' threshold limit value (ACGIH-TLV) for noise, 100% of the subjects (five subjects) and area samples during metal sculpting in the morning session exceeded both OELs, but only three subjects (60%) exceeded the ACGIH-TLV in the afternoon session. For stone sculpting, 50% (one subject) and 100% (two subjects) exceeded the Korean OEL and ACGIH-TLV, respectively, but the area sample did not exceed either OEL. During wood sculpting, two subjects (40%) exceeded ACGIH TLV. Conclusions: This work evaluated the sculptors' exposure to particulate matter and noise in fine art college, and revealed a poor working environment for the participating students. Effective measures should be supplemented by the administration of colleges.
Objectives: This study was designed to evaluate exposure levels of various chemicals used in wafer fabrication product lines in the semiconductor industry where work-related leukemia has occurred. Methods: The research focused on 9 representative wafer fabrication bays among a total of 25 bays in a semiconductor product line. We monitored the chemical substances categorized as human carcinogens with respect to leukemia as well as harmful chemicals used in the bays and substances with hematologic and reproductive toxicities to evaluate the overall health effect for semiconductor industry workers. With respect to monitoring, active and passive sampling techniques were introduced. Eight-hour long-term and 15-minute short-term sampling was conducted for the area as well as on personal samples. Results: The results of the measurements for each substance showed that benzene, toluene, xylene, n-butyl acetate, 2-methoxy-ethanol, 2-heptanone, ethylene glycol, sulfuric acid, and phosphoric acid were non-detectable (ND) in all samples. Arsine was either "ND" or it existed only in trace form in the bay air. The maximum exposure concentration of fluorides was approximately 0.17% of the Korea occupational exposure limits, with hydrofluoric acid at about 0.2%, hydrochloric acid 0.06%, nitric acid 0.05%, isopropyl alcohol 0.4%, and phosphine at about 2%. The maximum exposure concentration of propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate (PGMEA) was 0.0870 ppm, representing only 0.1% or less than the American Industrial Hygiene Association recommended standard (100 ppm). Conclusion: Benzene, a known human carcinogen for leukemia, and arsine, a hematologic toxin, were not detected in wafer fabrication sites in this study. Among reproductive toxic substances, n-butyl acetate was not detected, but fluorides and PGMEA existed in small amounts in the air. This investigation was focused on the air-borne chemical concentrations only in regular working conditions. Unconditional exposures during spills and/or maintenance tasks and by-product chemicals were not included. Supplementary studies might be required.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to assess the exposure level to dust and airborne microorganisms among employed workers in a clothing shopping center. Materials and Methods: On-site investigation of a clothing shopping center was performed between October and November 2012. The hazardous substances measured in this study are particulate matter(Total dust, respirable dust) and airborne microorganisms (Total airborne bacteria, total airborne fungi). Results: The highest geometric mean levels of particulate matter(total dust, respirable dust) for personal sampling were $1.735(SD:0.883)mg/m^3$ for total dust and $0.0711(SD:0.008)mg/m^3$ for respirable dust, respectively. Those for area sampling were $0.625(SD:0.091)mg/m^3$ for total dust and $0.0718(SD:0.012)mg/m^3$ for respirable dust, respectively. The highest geometric averaged concentrations of airborne microorganisms(Total airborne bacteria, total airborne fungi) were detected at $1,181(SD:105)cfu/m^3$ for total airborne bacteria and $683(SD:114)cfu/m^3$ for total airborne fungi, respectively. Concentrations of particulate matters and airborne microorganism in clothes shopping center did not correlate significantly with environmental factors such as temperature or relative humidity. Conclusions: Exposure levelshave not been established for service workers. Thus, health risk assessment for this group is very difficult. Health guidelines for service workers should be established as soon as possible.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the information searching behavior of consumer by type of medical institution. A questionnaire survey was conducted of 1,507 persons who were selected through a multi-stage stratified area cluster sampling in nationwide level, excluding Jeju-Do. Personal survey was conducted through door-to door survey from 27 July to 10 August 1999. The main results of this research was as following; 1. The proportion of information searching of respondents ranged from 91.5-95.2%. Even though the proportion of user in university hospital was slightly high, there was not significant statistically by type of medical institution. In terms of information source, personal informer was most common information source in all type of medical institution. Public informers were more frequently used in university hospital visitors and professional informer in general and university hospital visitors. 2. Comparing to searching intensity, user informer and professional informer's influences were more powerful, but not statistically significant. In analysis of unit influence for information source, written informer or public informer was more powerful in clinic visitor, professional informer and written informer in university hospital visitor. 3. Information which consumer want to know mostly were about on special potential and career of physician. The clinic visitor wanted to know about institutional location and kindness of medical personnel. The university hospital visitor also wanted to know about facilities and convenience of process. Comparing to institution selection criteria of consumers at 1991, quality related criteria were recognized more importantly in outpatient and dental services. But in case of inpatient services, convenience factor was recognized more importantly. In conclusion, the effort for specific marketing plan by type of medical institution should be needed. And more concern on information searching behavior of consumer will be needed.

The purpose of this study was to find out evaluative criteria of cyber store toward shopping orientation, purchasing experience and demographic factors of consumers to visit cyber store. This study surveyed consumers who have an experience of using cyber store and judgment sampling was used. The respondents were 240 men and women living in the metropolitan area of Seoul and Gyeonggi province. Research method was measured by clothing shopping orientation (utilitarian and hedonic factors), cyber store evaluation criteria (convenience, quality & trust and product character factors), purchasing experience(existent and nonexistent) and demographic factors. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA, t-test, Duncan test, and reliability analysis were conducted. The results were as follows: 1. Evaluative criteria of cyber store were considered importantly in order of possibility of exchange and refund, stability of personal information security, substance of quality degree of product and service and store. 2. Among shopping orientation groups, there were significant differences in all evaluative criteria of cyber store: convenience, quality & trust and product character of store. 3. Among groups toward existence and nonexistence in a purchasing experience, there were significant differences in convenience and quality & trust of store. 4. Among Demographic factors(gender, job, education and income) there were significant differences in convenience and quality & trust of store.
This study aimed to clarify the relationships among the characteristics of consumers and their influence on fashion leadership. Two kinds of variables were investigated in this study: centrality of visual product aesthetics and consumer innovativeness as personal characteristics, and role-relaxed consumption and consumer susceptibility to interpersonal influence as interpersonal characteristics. Data were gathered by surveying university students in the Seoul metropolitan area, using convenience sampling, and 322 questionnaires were used in the statistical analysis. In analyzing data, correlation analysis, factor analysis, and regression analysis were conducted. Factor analysis on the centrality of visual product aesthetics revealed three sub-factors: value, acumen, and response intensity. Meanwhile, factor analysis for consumer susceptibility to interpersonal influence revealed two sub-factors: informative and normative conformities. However, consumer innovativeness, role-relaxed consumption, and fashion leadership revealed only one factor. Regression analysis showed that visual product aesthetics, especially acumen and response intensity, were the most influential factors; furthermore, consumer innovativeness and normative conformity had positive influence on fashion leadership. However, role-relaxed consumption had negative influence on fashion leadership.
