Purpose: This study explored the attitudes and characteristics of nurse turnover using Q-method. Method: The Q-population was organized through in-depth interviews with nine nurses. A total of 43 Q-samples were selected from the 126 Q-population, and 30 nurses sorted the 43 statements using the principle of forced normal distribution. The PC-QUNAL program was used for Q-factor analysis. Result: Eight turnover attitude types of nurses were found: Professional pride-oriented, Seeking recognition within the organization, Perseverance, Egocentric calculation, Reality complacency, Seeking Work-life-balance, Interpersonal dependence, and Seeking justification. Conclusion: The findings of this study can serve as the basis to understand nurses' turnover attitudes and can aid in developing nursing management strategies to increase nurse retention.
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effects of grit and body composition on fatigue and burnout in shift-working nurses. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional design using self-report questionnaires was employed. Data were collected between February and April 2021 from 192 shift-working nurses in 22 units of C tertiary hospitals. Of the 192, 175 nurses returned their completed questionnaires (return rate: 91.1%). The participants objectively measured their body composition for three consecutive days using a home body composition measurement scale. Results: Nurses with higher consistency of interest were more likely to have lower chronic fatigue (B = -5.23, p= .013), lower emotional exhaustion (B = -2.75, p< .001), and decreased depersonalization (B = -1.08, p= .014). Perseverance of effort was not statistically significant for fatigue; however, it was statistically significant for higher personal accomplishment among the subdomains of burnout (B= 2.50, p< .001). Skeletal muscle mass and body mass index had no significant effect on fatigue and burnout. Conclusion: To reduce fatigue and burnout in shift-working nurses, comprehensive efforts at the organizational and individual levels should be implemented to increase their grit. Further research is needed to determine whether body composition affects fatigue and burnout in shift-working nurses.

The teacher is considered the cornerstone of the educational process; the quality of education is linked mainly to teachers who perform such a necessary process. The shift in pedagogical thinking has led to progress in looking at the teacher's roles; he is no longer transferring knowledge to learners, but instead, he has become a mentor, a mediator, a planner, an intellect, and a leader. If we analyze these missions from the perspective of mental habits, we will see that they require the teacher to develop the skills of perseverance, listening comprehension, thinking flexibly, controlling emotions, self-confidence, communication skills, and other essential skills. The current research verifies the effectiveness of an instructional program based on web quests in developing habits of the mind of English language students. The study employed a quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of 46 male students representing two classes. They were assigned randomly into an experimental group (n=24) and a control group (n=22). They were undergraduate students majoring in the English language. The findings showed a statistically significant difference in the mean scores of the experimental and control groups favoring the experimental group. The study concludes with some recommendations to differentiate teaching techniques in EFL classrooms.

Microsurgery, which deservedly sits on top of the reconstruction ladder, has been a boon to plastic surgery. It is because of this marvelous tool that plastic surgeons the world over have been able to tackle many reconstructive dilemmas, which were once considered to be an improbability. Microsurgery-aided revolutions have rendered a new meaning to all forms of reconstruction-whether it is postoncological, posttraumatic, or postlymphedema reconstruction. As the most advanced reconstructive medium at our disposal that has broadened the horizons of plastic surgery exponentially, it is but obvious that many budding plastic surgeons are drawn toward this subspecialty. In lieu of the aforementioned facts, it is necessary to sensitize all such aspiring surgeons about the various intricacies concerning the field of microsurgery. This article with its focus on the six desirable microsurgical attributes of "Clarity, Curiosity, Perseverance, Passion, An Open Mindset and Action," is meant to be a modest attempt on part of the authors to share their microsurgical insights, procured through their respective journeys, with budding aspirants, hoping to sensitize as well as motivate them for the challenging path that lies ahead.

Grit or perseverance as a factor for student success and life has gained increasing attention. Statistical methods have been the norm in analyzing various aspects of grit, but they do not address the transient and dynamic behavior well. We, for the first time, developed two linear dynamical models that specifically address the feedback structure of a child's desire to achieve a high grade point average (GPA) and the necessary effort that will increase stress between parents and a child. We call the dynamical model as GSES (Goal, Status, Effort & Stress). The two dynamical models incorporate the positive (i.e., achieving a high GPA) and the negative sides (i.e., effort and elevated stress and thus unhappiness) for being gritty or perseverant. Different types of parenting style and a child's characteristics were simulated whether parents and a child are empathetic or stubborn to their expectations and stress (i.e., willing or unwilling to change). Simulations show that when both parents and a child are empathetic to each other's expectation and stress, the most stable situations with minimal stress and effort occur. When a stubborn parent's and a stubborn child were studied together, this resulted in the highest elevation of stress and effort. Stubborn parents and a complying or empathetic child resulted in considerably high stress to a child. Interference from parents may unexpectedly result in a situation in which a child's stress is seriously elevated. The GSES model shows the U-shaped happiness curve (i.e., reciprocal of stress) caused by the increasing and then decreasing goal
To investigate industrial fatigue and low back pain, the questionaire survey for subjective symptoms of fatigue and low back pain was carried out among 591 male workers aged 20-55 employed in an automobile industry in Korea. Workers participated to this study were divided into low back pain group(LBP) and control group, according to the self-reports by written questionaires. The subjective sysptoms of fatigue comprised three groups of 10 items each, representing dullness and sleepiness(level of cerebral activation), difficulty in concentration(level of motivation) and bodily projection of fatigue. The resultant data were processed for $\chi^2-test$, t-test and a pearson's correlation coefficient to confirm the relationships. The results were as follows: 1. 30 items of fatigue subjective symptoms exeptone item, 'lack in perseverance', were directly associated with low back pain. 2. The percentage of fatigue complaint were sig nificantly higher in LBP group. 3. Of the 30 items of fatigue subjective symptoms, the highest percentage was accounted for 'eye strain'(27.9%), followed by 'whole body feels tired' and 'legs feel heavy'(22.9%), 'feel like lying'(21.4%), 'feel a pain in the low back'(18.7%), 'feel drowsy'(16.4%) and 'feel stiffness in the neck or the shoulders'(16.2%) in the order of sequence. 4. The average weighted score for the first group of fatigue items(dullness and sleepiness) was the largest among three groups and was followed by the second group(difficulty in concentration) and the third group(bodily projection of fatigue) in the order of sequence, suggesting the heavier shift work stress of the workers. 5. In the groups of the aged 30-40, work duration of 5-7yrs, heavy work amount and irregular work speed, significant high fatigue complaints were revealed in terms of eye strain, whole body feels tired, legs feel heavy, feel like lying, feel a pain in the low back and feel stiffness in the neck or the shoulders. 6. A significant negative correlations were shown between age, work duration and eleven subjective symptoms while positive reciprocal correlations were shown between eleven items with one another.
This study has analyzed the characteristics of the French method of childrearing which is drawing attention recently based on the psychoanalytic theory of François Dolto, the so-called French people's godmother, the child psychoanalyst. Dolto is a psychoanalyst who represents France and is the unique character who was loved by the public and established unique frame of child psychoanalytic analysis by combining psychoanalysis and pediatrics. She cherished communication through conversation with infants and toddlers and has perceived even the babies who can not speak yet as a lingual being who understands words. This study has selected domestically published books on French method of childrearing and documentary broadcasting program which dealt with childrearing, classified the common theme and deducted four core words, which are temperance, perseverance, waiting, autonomy and rule, authority and respect and independence and self-reliance. These core themes have been explained based on Dolto's theory of communication, infans, castration, subject and others and desire etc. Also, a new direction has been proposed for the child education in households and childrearing by Korean parents through French method of childrearing.
In the 21st century, knowledge-based and information-based society requires not just the capability of applying mathematics simply but mathematical power such as problem-solving ability which composes and solves problems using mathematical knowledge in real-life and fields of various subjects. However, to develop mathematical power, we need various teaching and learning methods which raise basic mathematical knowledge, the inference capability, problem- solving ability, the flexibility of thinking, the expressing and transforming ability of mathematical ideas, perseverance, interest, intellectual curiosity, and creativity. In this paper, we develop the teaching-learning plans based on real life using the various methods of learning and then we analyze the change of students's cognition of mathematics and the students's reaction of the class.

The purpose of this study was to develop a program to cultivate mathematical creativity based on open-ended problem and to investigate its effect. The major features of this innovative program are (a) breaking up fixations, (b) multiple answers, (c) various strategies, (d) problem posing, (e) exploring strategies, (f) selecting and estimating, (g) active exploration through open-ended problems. 20 units for 7th grade mathematics were developed. This study hypothesizes that experimental students may develop more divergent thinking abilities than their traditional counterparts. The participants were 7th grade students attending middle schools in Seoul. Instruments were pre and post tests to measure mainly divergent thinking skills through open-ended problems. The results indicated that the experimental students achieved better than the comparison students on overall and each component of fluency, flexibility, and originality of divergent thinking skills, when deleting the effect of covariance of the pretest. The developed program can be a useful resource for teachers to use in enhancing their students' creative thinking skills. Further this open-ended approach can be served as a model to implement in classes. This study suggests that further investigations are needed in order to examine effects on affective domains such as motivation and task perseverance which are also considered as important factors of creativity.
The purpose of this study was to identify the specific and empirical contents in terms of first-married stepmother about her stress and efforts to adapt to her stepfamily. This studies relied on the qualitative research method in order to approach stepmother's subjective experience. There were 6 stepmother respondents who were 6 first-marrieds living in Seoul or Kyoungki area. The data was collected by in-depth personal interview.‘Open coding process’, a part of grounded theory procedures were used to analyzed the data. The major findings can be summarized as follows: 1. When focused o stressors, the stress of stepmothers were categorized into 4 categories. Those were the following: 1 When focused on stressors, the stress of stepmothers were categorized into 4 categories. Those were the following: (1) Stepmother's own problem such as stepmother' identity problem; (2) Problems within stepfamily such as problems about relations with husbands, stepchildren, and her own children; (3) Problems of stepmother family's kin such as relational problems with former spouses, in-laws, and her parent; (4) Problems of social relationship such as isolation and alienation in social relationship and neighbors' prejudice about stepmother. 2. In overcoming stress from stepfamily life and adapting to it, 4 categories were identified as important. Contents of 4 categories were such like this: (1) Stepmother's own efforts - (a) give a positive meaning to marriage or remarriage (b) flexible personality (c) situation-accepting attitude (d) exclusive management of household income (e) job (f) perseverance for time to adaptation; (2) Positive feedback within stepfamily - (a) supportive husband (b) sense of unity as a couple (c) psychological reward from stepchildren (d) existence of stepmother's own child (e) behavior for family solidarity (f) family-centered religious life; (3) Stepfamily's relationship with former spouses such as breakdown in relationship with ex-wives or ex-husbands; (4) Support from stepmothers' kin and people in social network with stepmothers. It was concluded that to reduce stress and to help adapt to stepfamily, stepmother should make an effort, and that her stepfamily and her kin should cooperate and support. In addition, negative stereotype of stepmother and stepfamily should disappeared. It was suggested that studies on stepfamily should be vitalized and that programs for preparing remarriage and counseling for stepfamily should be spread.
