The purpose of this study was to systematize accurate data about the body measurements of early adolescent boys, as there was a broad individual variance between their bodies, and it's additionally attempted to identify the unique physical characteristics of different age groups. The subjects in this study were boys who were at the ages of 10 to 14 in the capital area. Their bodies were measured by anthropometric and photographic method, and data on 549 boys were analyzed. The total of 100 items(47 anthropometric items, 10 indexed items and 43 photographic items) were selected to be measured. For data analysis were performed descriptive statistics, ANOVA and Duncan test using SPSS Ver. 10. The results of the study are as follows. According to the result of comparing the body measurements of early adolescent boys, a period of active growth and a period of slow growth were repeated alternately as they aged and the age of active growth tended to get younger.
The age growth pattern of Myagropsis mygroides (Cystoseiraceae, Phaeophyta)population were investigated at Tongyeong (128$^{\circ}$ 25' E and 34$^{\circ}$ 45' N) in South coast of Korea, from September 1998 to August 1999. Water temperatures varied from 7.7${^{\circ}C}$ to 26${^{\circ}C}$ during the survey period. Distinct seasonal changes were found in the plant legth and wet weight of plant, and their maximum length and wet weight were attained 70.5(${\pm}$ 20.9) cm and 191.8(${\pm}$ 135.0) g during April and May. The growth patterns were divided into four periods of slow growth (September-November), fast growth (December-February), maturing growth (March-May) and declining period (June-August). The Tongyeong population of M. myagroides was dominated by less than three-year old small plants with slower growth rates, shorter plant length, lighter plant weight than those of other locations in Korea.
Monensin administered as a slow release capsule to Droughtmaster steers grazing mixed pastures containing Stylosanthes hamata or grass pastures fertilized with N, had no effect on growth rate over 111 day period. Monensin significantly increased the level of propionic acid (p<0.001) and decreased the level of butyric acid (p<0.01) in the rumen. The lack of response to monesin was partly attributed to the poor pasture conditions and growth rate of the steers during part of the experimental period. An implant of oestradiol improved growth rates during the period of poor forage quality and in the subsequent 56 days when pastures were of high quality following rain. Mean growth rates over the entire 157 days for control, monensin and monensin/oestradiol treatments were 0.37, 0.37 and 0.50 kg/d respectively. It was concluded that when pasture conditions are sufficient only for the maintenance of liveweight, production can be improved by an oestradiol implant but not by feeding an ionophore such as monensin.
From September 1994 to April 1996, we observed the suspending time dependant meat increase (dry weight) for oysters at Pukman Bay in Korea. The oysters which suspended in September increased to 5 g in meat weight (dry weight) by January. Ones in June increased rapidly but lessened during summer and this stagnation of meat increase extended to autumn. It took long time to compensate for the loss of meat weight owing to spawning. Oysters suspended in July or August showed low growth or stagnation due to the high water temperature and spawning activities after suspending. However, meat weight showed sudden increasement after December and achieved 5 g at the late farm period. The meat increase of oysters suspended in October or November was very slow during entire growing period. Most of them did not achieved 5 g during farm period. The negative correlation was observed between meat growth and water temperature in September. Also, there was a high correlation between meat growth and chlorophyll-a. It was believed that deficiency of food organisms in the water column lead slow growth in terms of meat growth, particularly right after transplanting seed oysters to the farm. Our study suggests that proper time for transplanting oysters is between August and mid-September. However, the data indicate that good growth of oysters is depending upon amount of food available in the water column.

A field experiment was conducted in order to investigate the seasonal changes of leaf growth and related characteristics in three cultivars of orchardgrass; Potomac, Kay and Sumas. The results were summarized as follows: 1. Leaf elongation was increased in a nearly linear phase during first and third cutting stages. It was increased slowly in early 10 days to 15 days after cutting and increased rapidly thereafter during the rest cutting stages. In cultivars, Potomac was showed hlgher leaf elongation than other cultivars during all cutting stages. There was no difference of leaf width within cutting stages, but the leaf width of fall regrowth was narrow. Sumas had relatively short and wide leaves. 2. Leaf dry weight and leaf area in first cutting stage were larger than others. Leaf area was increased rapidly from 15 days after cutting and leaf $we$ was increased rapidly from 20 days over all cutting stages. The increase in leaf area and dry weight were slow down after 30 days. 3. Number of epidermal cells was increased rapidly after cutting and the rate of increase was slow down after 30 days. In a cross section of leaf tissue, the part of mesophyll was occupied with about 60% of total area and larger area than other tissues. Leaf tissue had a large vacancy at early growth period after harvest and was filled gradually with mesophyll. This result was related to the increase of leaf dry matter.

Among the various possible factors affecting the Minority Carrier Life Time (MCLT) of the mc-Si crystal, dislocations formed during the cooling period after solidification were found to be a major element. It was confirmed that other defects such as grain boundary or twin boundary were not determinative defects affecting the MCLT because most of these defects seemed to be formed during the solidification period. With a measurement of total thickness variation (TTV) and bow of the silicon wafers, it was found that residual stress remaining in the mc-Si crystal might be another major factor affecting the MCLT. Thus, it is expected that better quality of mc-Si can be grown when the cooling process right after solidification is carried out as slow as possible.

Nitrogen (N) is one of the most important nutrients among 17 essential nutrients for maintaining turfgrass color and quality. The slow release fertilizers were initially developed to provide a more consistent release of nitrogen over a longer period and are often used to decrease leaching potential from sandy soils. The goal of this study is to determine if various slow release N sources affect the rate at which turfgrass establishes. Six nitrogen sources were evaluated; Nitroform (38-0-0), Nutralene (40-0-0), Organiform (30-0-0), Sulfur coated urea (SCU, 37-0-0), urea (46-0- 0), and Milorganite (6-0-0). The root zone media was seeded and sodded with 'Limousine' Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis L.). Sodded pots produced 182 to 518 g more clipping dry weight than seeded pots. Among seeded pots, Milorganite produced greater amount of root dry weight than any other N sources. Because the period of turfgrass growth is different between sodded and seeded plots, there were differences on clipping yield and root growth. Overall, high N rate had turf color greater than acceptable color of 6 among seeded pots throughout the study. However, low N rate didn't produce acceptable turf color throughout the study. Based on the result of this tudy, ilorganite would be ecommended for new establishment of Kentucky bluegrass an urea with less clipping yield which can lead to reduce abor.

Sword bean belongs to the subgenus Canavalia in the genus Canavalia. White and reddish varieties in sword bean were tested to obtain the basic information for improving the yield, quality, and cultural environments through the quantitative growth analysis. Growing plants were sampled at intervals of 10 days from 20 days after sowing. Whole plant weight increased during the period of 11-20 days after sowing in both varieties. The weight of each organ between two varieties increased similarly except leaf area. Whole plant weight changed more close to pod weight than any other characters. The leaf areas of both varieties increased from 50 days after sowing, var. white displayed S type curved line but var. reddish displayed slow S type curved line. The SGR of whole plant weight in both varieties had 3 maxima and 2 minima, 3 maxima and first minimum were shown at the same period but the second minimum was shown at different period. Both varieties showed bimodal curved line. All SGR of each organ and leaf area were shown the 2 maxima and 1 minimum in both varieties. The changes of SLA and LAR were not remarkable between two varieties but these were united together with the maximum of whole plant weight and root weight. ULWR and ULWR were shown similar in both varieties. Reddish variety was more prosperous in early growth stage than white variety because SLA, LAR and LWR were high. In surplus weight, both varieties increased rapidly during the period of 111-120 days after sowing that was applicable to the maximum SGR of pod weight. Surplus weight of var. white increased markedly during the same period comparing those of var. reddish.
Large-scale cultivation of Microcystis aeruginosa in different light conditions was conducted for verifying the cell growth in a greenhouse system. Environmental and chemical parameters of the large-scale culture medium were measured for analyzing the interaction between M. aeruginosa and its symbiotic bacteria. During cultivation, a difference in cell growth pattern was observed between control (natural light) and light-limited groups (reduction of blue, green, and blue/green light, respectively). Comparing the control group, the light reduced groups showed slow and delayed cell growth through the cultivation period. Also, there is differences in the consuming pattern of total nitrogen and total phosphorus which indicated that the possibility of interaction between M. aeruginosa and symbiotic bacteria.

Traditional TCP implementations have the under-utilization problem in large bandwidth delay product networks especially during the startup phase. In this paper, we propose a delay-based congestion control(DCC) mechanism to solve the problem. DCC is subdivided into linear and exponential growth phases. When there is no queueing delay, the congestion window grows exponentially during the congestion avoidance period. Otherwise, it maintains linear increase of congestion window similar to the legacy TCP congestion avoidance algorithm. The exponential increase phase such as the slow-start period in the legacy TCP can cause serious performance degradation by packet losses in case the buffer size is insufficient for the bandwidth-delay product, even though there is sufficient bandwidth. Thus, the DCC uses the RTT(Round Trip Time) status and the estimated queue size to prevent packet losses due to excessive transmission during the exponential growth phase. The simulation results show that the DCC algorithm significantly improves the TCP startup time and the throughput performance of TCP in large bandwidth delay product networks.
