  • This study proposes a performance model of a shared bus multi-processor system and analyzes the effect of input/output types on system performance and overload of shared resources. This system performance model reflects the memory reference time in relation to the effect of input/output types on shared resources and the input/output processing time in relation to the input/output processor, disk buffer, and device standby places. In addition, it demonstrates the contribution of input/output types to system performance for comprehensive analysis of system performance. As the concept of workload in the probability theory and the presented model are utilized, the result of operating and analyzing the model in various conditions of processor capability, cache miss ratio, page fault ratio, disk buffer hit ratio (input/output processor and controller), memory access time, and input/output block size. A simulation is conducted to verify the analysis result.

  • The study aims to investigate the implementation of the internal quality assurance system (IQAS) on HEIs performance, mediated by financial management accountability. The commitment from foundation leadership on financial management accountability and their implications for HEIs' performance is also carefully examined. This study employs samples of 108 respondents from the leadership of private HEIs under Region IV Service Institutions. The purposive sampling, as a part of non-probability sampling was chosen as the sampling technique. Statistical data analysis conducted by use the structural equation model to test the hypothesis. The results reveal that the implementation of IQAS does not influence the financial management accountability, but it has an essential role on HEIs' performance. Moreover, foundation leadership's commitment has a significant positive effect on financial management accountability and HEIs' performance. Financial management accountability also has a significant positive effect on HEIs' performance. Financial management becomes important because the entire activities of HEIs should end with financial reporting. Therefore, financial and non-financial aspects are two interrelated and complementary aspects in the accreditation process. The findings of this study suggest that that performance measurement is very crucial as a part of the efforts to meet the general accountability requirement for organizations, particularly in HEIs.

  • ISO 9000 is a management standard that provides customers with assurance thu their registered suppliers have a consistent quality system to which they adhere. this paper draws on four sources to show how ISO 9000 can lead to performance improvement. 1)theories of induces innovation and improvisation 2) the literature on ISO 9000 3) a case study of a telecom company. we find that the extent to which ISO 9000 is associated with performance improvement depends on the level of its assimilation, and the degree to which an organization goes beyond the minimal requirements of the standard.

First, management, organizational management and resource preparation will have a positive impact on the management capability of the electric power corporation. It was assessed that the more well-transmitted and understood within the organization, the better the construction plan, the better the equipment management status, the more positively the management capability of electric works was to be achieved. Second, management, organizational management and resource preparation will have a positive impact on corporate management performance. This seems to have a positive effect on a company's business performance when the standards of OHSAS are met with construction plan and construction equipment management are high as related information such as industrial safety and health laws are strengthened and companies' safety and health activities, advanced safety and culture are released to facilitate organizational management.Third, the management ability of the electric power corporation will have a mediated effect on the effect of management, organization management and resource preparation on the performance of the enterprise. This means that the direct effect of the independent variable management organization on corporate management performance is .401 The indirect effect is .168.658 shows that the direct effect of resource preparation on corporate management performance is .423, the indirect effect is .178 and the total effect. It was analyzed at 643.

  • This study was conducted to establish finance performance evaluation model for physicians in each clinical department, by using factors which determines financial outcome(performance) in each clinical department The ultimate aim of study is to develop effective performance-based pay system for physicians. The system, by motivating physicians, should increase their productivity. To do so, it is critical to establish finance performance evaluation model to achieve final goal of this study. 232 private hospitals were chosen from 693 hospitals which were subject to hospital survey by the Korea Institute of Health Services Management and their revenue and expense-related data during 1997 were collected. By adopting multiple regression method, the study shows that the evaluation model for each clinical department was statistically significant. The study suggest the effective performance-based pay system based on financial performance of each clinical department. The pay system includes the level of compensation, the way of how to allocate profits to each department, and criteria whether the compensation should provide or not. In conclusion, the study has following implications. First, the study suggest finance performance evaluation model for each clinical department Second, the study suggest guidelines and plans to establish qualitative measure of financial performance in each clinical department. Third, the study suggest that adopting performance-based pay for physicians could be impetus to achieve organizational goal by motivating them with fair compensation.
