Recently, deployments of firewalls and NATs ire increasing to provide network security features or to solve the problem of public IP shortage. But, in these environments, peers in different firewall or NAT environments may get limited services because they cannot open direct communicate channels. This can be a significant problem in pure P2P environments where the peers should get or provide services by opening direct channels among themselves. In this paper, we propose a scheme for dynamically selecting a peer that fan be used as a proxy server. The proxy server supports the communication between the peers in different firewall or NAT environments. The proposed scheme is operating system independent and supports bidirectional communication among the peers in P2P environments. Additionally, the proposed scheme can distribute network traffic by dynamically allocating proxy servers to the peers that is not located in the firewall or NAT environments.
The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of peer support on conduct behavior and withdrawal and to investigate the mediating effect of negative automatic thought. The subjects included 461 students(boys 51%, girls 49%) from the 1st to 3rd grades of middle school in Seoul. Conduct behavior and withdrawal was measured by the Korean Youth Self Report and the Conners-Wells'-Adolescent Self Report Scales. Negative automatic thoughts were measured by the Korean Children Youth Automatic Thoughts Scale. Using Amos 20, structural equation modeling was conducted. The findings of the structural equation modeling was that peer support had an impact on conduct behavior and withdrawal. Peer support contributed to a reduction of negative automatic thoughts. Negative automatic thoughts had a mediating effect between peer support and withdrawal or conduct. We suggest that peer support affects conduct behavior and withdrawal through negative automatic thought. We also found gender differences; compared with girls, boys received less support from peers. They also had lower levels of negative automatic thoughts and withdrawal than girls. The further study should be considered to provide more correlation factors of peer support.

One of fundamental problems in developing robust distributed services is how to achieve distributed consensus agreeing some data values that should be shared among participants in a distributed service. As one of algorithms for distributed consensus, Raft is known as a simple and understandable algorithm by decomposing the distributed consensus problem into three subproblems(leader election, log replication and safety). But, the algorithm dose not mention any types of dynamic configuration of participant peers such as adding new peers to a consensus group or deleting peers from the group. In this paper, we present a new consensus algorithm named Raft-D, which supports the dynamic configuration of participant peers by extending the Raft algorithm. For this, Raft-D manages the additional information maintained by participant nodes, and provides a technique to check the connection status of the nodes belonging to the consensus group. Based on the technique, Raft-D defines conditions and states to deal with adding new peers to the consensus group or deleting peers from the group. Based on those conditions and states, Raft-D performs the dynamic configuration process for a consensus group through the log update mechanism of the Raft algorithm.

The research on peer-to-peer streaming schemes has largely focused on tree-push and mesh-pull structures. However, the tree-push structure has a defect that the tree restructuring time is long, and the mesh-pull structure has long startup delay and lag time from source servers. In this paper, we propose a new peer-to-peer live streaming scheme based on a push-mesh structure that takes advantages of tree-push and mesh-pull structure simultaneously. This structure basically provides the mesh-pull mechanism for data transmission and utilizes peers with high network upload capacity. It also supports the push mechanism along with paths from a source server, super peers, and selected general peers. By NS-2 simulation experiments, we finally show that our proposed scheme can achieve shorter startup delay than the mesh-pull structure, similar lag time to tree-push structure and best playback continuity among the three schemes.
The purpose of this study is to verify antecedent variables that positively influence behavioural engagement during school engagement, which is critical to adolescent socialization. The antecedent variable was categorized into the personal characteristics of adolescents who are the main agents of socialization and peer support and teacher support, which can be called social support at school sites. Individual characteristics include strength recognition, strength utilization, and learning goal orientation, and, peer supports include the supports for personality strength and academy, and, teacher supports include the supports for personality strength and perspective change. For this study, a survey was conducted on 539 high school students nationwide, collected data, 33 of them were removed, and 506 data were analyzed. Analysis shows that only learning goal orientation set as a sub-factor of individual characteristics has a static significant effect on behavioral engagement. Finally, based on the findings, we discuss the implications, limitations, and future research tasks of the study.
This study sought to investigate the relationship between emotional labor and commitment to organization of flight attendants as a way to identify solutions for service quality issues attributed to reduced commitment. It was also intended to determine the relational routes in terms of the effects of social support as a supplementary factor in reduced air service quality. A survey was conducted from January 2020 for about one month and a total of 426 copies were used in the final analysis. SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0 statistical programs were used for the data analysis. The results are as follows. First, the emotional labor of flight attendants showed a negative impact on the social support including support from peers, families, and team leaders. Second, support from peers and team leaders had a positive impact on commitment to organization. Third, the emotional labor of flight attendants showed a negative impact on their commitment to organization. Fourth, support from peers and team leaders were found to have a mediated effect on the relationship between emotional labor and commitment to organization.
This study attempts to test the effects of neighborhoods on children and adolescents' alcohol, cigarette and marijuana use. Theoretically, this study was guided by Akers' (1998) SSSL model as potential explanations for understanding the linkage and provided partial test of the model. More specifically, it aims to test the mediation effects of one of core propositions of the SSSL model; whether differential association with deviant peers as well as with conforming peers mediates social disorganization of neighborhoods on adolescent substance and drug use in a different direction. Using multilevel regression techniques with robust standard error, this study utilized data from 1,791 children and adolescents who were nested in 80 neighborhoods in Chicago. The findings of the study provide mixed supports for the SSSL model. That is, it found that there are not only mediation effects but also moderation effects of differential association on children and adolescents' substance and drug use.
Objective: To review the literature on development in the peer relationships of the adolescents within the context of their parents' divorce. Method: The cognitive and sociocultural literature was searched to analyze the social interactions of the adolescents of divorced parents. Results: The evidence supports the variations in adolescents' peer relations based on their family structure. Comparisons with the adolescents of the nuclear families and the step-families suggest certain types of interactions the adolescents of divorced parents experience. Conclusions: Divorce of the parents is associated with the difficulties their children at adolescent experience, such as the higher level of social isolation among their peers or their incompetence in social skills. For there is not much known about the integration into the world of peers of the adolescents from the divorced families, while their general psychological and cognitive development after the separation is often studied, future study will need to focus on their peer interactions at their school environment and the social treatment for the possible hardships in their peer relations.

The reciprocal virtue of peer-to-peer networking has stimulated an explosion of peer population and service capacity, ensuring rapid content distribution in peer-to-peer networks. Critical issues such as peer churn, free riding, and skewed workload significantly affect performance results such as service agility, fairness, and resource utilization. To resolve these problems systematically, this study proposes a peer assignment scheme that supports fair peer-to-peer file sharing applications. The proposed scheme exploits the peer duality of both server-oriented peer capacity and client-oriented peer contribution. Accordingly, the system server can prioritize download requests and appropriately assign server peers to uploading file objects. Several functional extensions, including peer substitution and elimination, bandwidth adjustment, and distributed modification, help cope with subtle situations of service starvation and download blocking, and hence make the system design robust and amenable. Simulation results show this design is examined under both centralized and distributed peer-to-peer environments. Performance results confirm that the proposed mechanisms are simple but effective in maintaining service agility and fairness, without loss of overall service capacity in peer-to-peer files sharing systems.
This study explored adjustment of school-aged children from low-income divorced families. Specifically, protective factors for children's self-perceived competence and behavior problems were investigated with children's coping strategies, perceived social support, parents' childrearing style, and parental stress. Subjects of this study were 126 children of 4 to 6 grade and their custodial parents(38 fathers, 88 mothers) from divorced families. Children's self-perceived competence and behavior problems were not different neither by children's sex nor custodial parent's sex. When children used more positive and less negative coping strategies, and when parents experienced less childrearing stress, children perceived themselves to be more competent. Similarly, when children used more positive and less negative coping strategies, received more social support, they perceived themselves to be more adequate. Children whose parents had high levels of childrearing stress showed more internalized and externalized behavior problems. Furthermore, children who perceived less supports from peers showed more behavior problems.
