The power curve during rubber mixing presents useful information for the understanding of rubber mixing process, because the power curve is determined the mixing state of rubber at the point. The time to the second peak on the power curve is known as carbon black incorporation time, BIT. This study gets the quantity relationship of BIT and viscosity of natural rubber, so by determining the mixing time of the compound on the ground of viscosity of the raw rubber. The mixing with natural rubber and carbon black is examined for various grade natural rubbers, encompassing a wide range of Mooney viscosity. Alter smoothing the mixing power curve using a polynomial, the carbon black incorporation time, BIT, was determined time to second power peak on the curve, The BIT's versus specific values on Mooney viscometer test curve show a linear relation, Especially, the peak of initial maximum torque on Mooney viscometer curve, PMT, is most relevant property relating to the BIT. PMT is useful index for determined optimum mixing time, To apply this results at the mixing, we effectively control the natural rubber mixing but can also know the grading of natural rubber upon processability.

Purpose: Smart insoles are wearable devices that are inserted into shoes. Smart insoles with built-in pressure and acceleration sensors can measure the plantar pressure, stride length, and walking speed. This study evaluated the validity and reliability of the plantar pressure measurements of smart insoles during walking on flat ground. Materials and Methods: Twenty one subjects were included in this study. After wearing smart insoles, I-SOL® (Gilon, Seongnam, Korea), the subjects walked a 10 m corridor six times at a rate of 100 steps/min, and the middle three steps, free from direction changes, were chosen for data analysis. The same protocol was repeated after wearing Pedar-X (Novel Corporation, Munich, Germany), an insoletype plantar pressure measurement equipment with proven validity. The average maximum pressure (Ppeak, kPa) and the time at which Ppeak appeared (Ptime, %stride) were calculated for each device. The validity of smart insoles was evaluated by using the interclass correlation coefficient (ICC) of Ppeak and Ptime between the two instruments, and Cronbach's alpha was obtained from the Ppeak values to evaluate the reliability. Results: The ICC of Ppeak was 0.651 (good) in the hallux, 0.744 (good) in the medial forefoot, 0.839 (excellent) in the lateral forefoot, and 0.854 (excellent) in the hindfoot. The ICC of Ptime showed 0.868 (excellent) in the hallux, 0.892 (excellent) in the medial forefoot, 0.721 (good) in the lateral forefoot, and 0.832 (excellent) in the hindfoot. All ICC values showed good or excellent results. The Cronbach's alpha of Ppeak measured in the smart insoles was 0.990 in the hallux, 0.961 in the medial forefoot, 0.973 in the lateral forefoot, and 0.995 in the hindfoot; all indicated excellent reliability in all areas. Conclusion: The plantar pressure measurements of smart insoles during walking on a flat ground showed validity compared to Pedar-X, and high reliability after repeated measurements.
Background: Cardiopulmonary bypass during open heart surgery causes systemic inflammatory respose. IL-10 is an anti-inflammatory cytokine that inhibits inflammatory process and protects organ function by down regulation of pro-inflammatory cytokine release and maintenance of blood level balance with pro-inflammatory cytokines. Mateial and Method: Plasma IL-10 levels were measured and analyzed in 22 patients who underwent open heart surgery (11 cases of coronary artery bypass graft, 11 cases of valve replacement) under cardiopulmonary bypass since 1988 January to July at Department of Thoracic and Czardiovascular surgery, Yeungnam University Hospital. 1g of methylprednisolone was administrated to thirteen patients randomly. Blood samp.es were taken and collected at the time of induction of anesthesia, 10 min before cardiopulmonary bypass, 10 min after starting of CPB, 10 min aftr aortic cross clamping, 10 min after ACC release, and 10 min, 2 hours, and `5 hours after CPB respectively. The plasma levels of IL-10 were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays(ELISA). Wilcoxon-Raule Sum test was used for statistical analysis. Result: In all 22 patients, cardiopulmonary bypass time was used for statistical analysis. Result: In all 22 patients, cardiopulmonary bypass time was 171$\pm$41.4 min and aortic cross clamp time was 118$\pm$36.5 min. Peak IL-10 level was achieved at 10 min after ACC(361.0$\pm$52.81pg/ml) and was decreased sharply at 2 hours after CPB. Peak IL-10 level was correlated positively with aortic cross clamp time(p=0.011); however, it did not correlated with bypass time(p=0.181). In valve replacement group, mean IL-10 level at peak point was 567.89$\pm$107.69 pg/ml and was significantly higher than that of coronary artery bypass group(205.67$\pm$192.70 pg/ml)(p<0.001). ACC time in valve replacement group was significantly longer than that of coronary artery bypass group(p<0.01), however, bypass time was not(p=0.212). Thirteen patients with steroid pretreatment before starting of CPB showed relatively higher plasma IL-10 level than in control group, however, no statistical significance was noted(p=0.19). Conclusion: plasma level of IL-10 was increased in association with cardiopulmonary bypass and revealed peak at 10 min after ACC release. IL-10 level was correlated positively with ACC time. Therefore, systemic inflammatory respeonse in association with cardiopulmonary bypass could be decreased by reducing ACC time during cardiac surgery.
This paper presents an approximate model for computing the peak demand power in a metro railway system. The peak demand of substations can be calculated using the current vector iteration method. But the existing method requires many repeated calculations to determine the peak demand power, which makes it difficult to apply to the real-time peak power control problem. In this paper, we assume that none of the conditions vary except source impedance and make an approximate model for rapid calculation based on changes in the impedance of the power substation. The proposed model result is approximately the same as the existing model, which is demonstrated through simulation.

We report the current limiting properties of superconducting fault current limiters (SFCL). Our SFCL was patterned in a spiral type on a YB $a_2$C $u_3$$O_{7-x}$(YBCO) film deposited using rf sputtering techniques and was coated with a gold shunt layer in order to disperse the heat generated at hot spots in the YBCO film. Current increased up to 13.5 $A_{peak}$ at 60 Hz for the voltage of 13 $V_{peak}$, which is the minimum quench point, and increased up to 17.6 $A_{peak}$ at 60 Hz fo the voltage fo 141.4 $V_{peak}$. The quench completion time was 5 msec at 13 $V_{peak}$ and 4 msec at 141. $V_{peak}$ respectively. we think that this architecture using spiral-type SFCL can be useful for the protection of the power delivery systems from fault currents.s. currents.s.
To evaluate the autofocusing performance of recent mobile phone cameras, it is necessary to determine the peak position of the center field MTF (Modulation Transfer Function), -known as the through focus MTF- of the module. However, the MTF peak position found by conventional methods deviates from the ideal position due to the focus scanning resolution of mobile phone cameras. This inaccurate peak position results in false judgements of the optical performance, leading to yield losses or customer complaints. An increase in the focus scanning resolution can address this problem, but the manufacturing UPH (Unit per Hour) level will also unfortunately increase as well, resulting in a loss of manufacturing capabilities. In this paper, several fitting models are studied to find an accurate MTF peak position within a short period of time. With an analysis of a large amount of manufacturing data, it is demonstrated that the fitting methods can reduce false judgements and simultaneously increase the capabilities of the manufacturing system.

Measured wave data covering two years simultaneously at 3 locations along the eastern Arabian Sea reveals the presence of long-period (peak wave period > 18 s) low-amplitude waves (significant wave height < 1 m) and the characteristics of these waves are described in this article. In a year, 1.4-3.6% of the time, the low-amplitude long-period swells were observed, and these waves were mainly during the nonmonsoon period. The wave spectra during these long-period swells were multi-peaked with peak wave period around 18.2 s, the secondary peak period around 13.3 s and the wind-sea peak period at 5 s. The ratio of the spectral energy of the wind-sea peak and the primary peak (swell) was slightly higher at the northern location (0.2) than that at the southern location (0.15) due to the higher wind speed present at the northern location.

In this paper. we propose search algorithm using Low Peak Feature of audio and image color value by which similar movies can be identified. Combing through entire video files for the purpose of recognizing and retrieving matching movies requires much time and memory space. Moreover, these methods still share a critical problem of erroneously recognizing as being different matching videos that have been altered only in resolution or converted merely with a different codec. Thus we present here a similar-video-retrieval method that relies on analysis of audio patterns, whose peak features are not greatly affected by changes in the resolution or codec used and image color values. which are used for similarity comparison. The method showed a 97.7% search success rate, given a set of 2,000 video files whose audio-bit-rate had been altered or were purposefully written in a different codec.
This paper presents the water-hammer effect due to the rapid opening and closing of isolation valve and thruster valve in the spacecraft propulsion system. The single propellant feed system was modeled to investigate the maximum peak pressure due to the water-hammer effect. The test parameters are tank supply pressure, shape and throat length of orifice and line length. Kerosene was used as the inert simulant propellant liquid instead of hydrazine. As downstream line length after isolation valve increased from 1.5 to 2.5m, the maximum line-filling water-hammer peak pressure decreased, but the average time interval between peak pressures increased. The maximum line-filling water-hammer peak pressure with orifice was lower than without orifice, and the maximum line-filling water-hammer peak pressure with orifice at the back of isolation valve was lower than with orifice in front of isolation valve. Without orifice, the maximum water-hammer peak pressure due to the rapid opening and closing of the thruster valve was about 126% of tank supply pressure. With orifice, it decreased. As orifice throat length increased, it decreased. The maximum water-hammer peak pressure due to the rapid closing of the thruster valve with converging-diverging orifice was lower than normal orifice. It was found that the orifice as a means of pressure drop was very effective to reduce the water hammer peak pressure at the thruster valve. The results of this study can be used for the design of spacecraft liquid propulsion feed system.
In this study, rainfall runoff characteristics according to peak concentration were analyzed using the water quality and flow data in the Geumho river, and the direction of nonpoint source management such as monitoring and management period by pollution source was derived. Peak Water Quality Concentration is the concept that utilizes the extreme value as the concentration of non-point pollution control standard with the highest water quality in the rainwater runoff. Using this method, the evaluation factors such as cumulative precipitation(total precipitation), peak water quality concentration, cumulative precipitation up to peak water quality concentration, time to peak water quality concentration, and EMC to peak water quality concentration were examined and long- Rainfall runoff characteristics of nonpoint sources were analyzed. The results of the analysis suggested proper monitoring and management method to manage nonpoint source.
