Correlation embodiment between parts for efficient BOM use (효율적인 BOM 사용을 위한 부품간의 상관관계 구현)

  • A study was conducted to improve validity in new BOM structure through using the similitude of existing BOM in the PDM. The system is developed in Web-Based PDM environments using servlets and database. The system provides the correlation information between parts to inflect the reusability of existing BOM. User-defined correlation is used to inform the relations between design precedence and co-relations of parameters. Realistic application in injection mold production is constructed using this structure.

  • To survive in the intensive world wide automotive market, more and more automotive companies are investing their resources into concurrent engineering systems (CE) based on the combined CAD/CAM/CAE/ PDM technology. The main objectives of CE in automotive companies are the quality improvement of products and the reduction of cost and time to market. Remarkable effects are appearing from some of these companies. As shown in this paper, these successful automotive companies have been focusing on establishing the new process and methodology in applying CE into their car development process.

  • Object Management Group(OMG)는 1989년부터 객체 지향 개념에 기초하여 상호 호환구조의 규격을 개발하여 왔으며, Manufacturing Domain Task Force(MDTF)는 1996년 8월에 PDM Enablers를 위한 RFP를 발표하였다. 이 RFP는 PDM 시스템들에 의해 제공되는 기능들의 표준 인터페이스를 구축하기 위한 것이며, 이러한 표준 인터페이는 분산된 이기종 PDM 시스템들이 상호 호환할 수 있는 기초를 제공할 것이다. 본 고에서는 OMG RFP의 내용을 간단히 요약하고, 이에 대해 Dassault 시스템과 NIIIP Consortium이 공동으로 제출한 제안서를 소개한다.

  • 축제식 양식장 호지의 노령화를 방지하기 위해 수차를 이용하여 호지에 폭기 및 순환작용을 활성화하여 수질과 저질을 개선하는 방법이 널리 사용되고 있다(Peterson et al., 2000). 본 연구에서는 수차의 순환기능에 대한 수치모형인 Pond Dynamic Model(PDM)을 Graphic User Interface(GUI )를 이용하여 손쉽게 이용할 수 있도록 상용화(PDM 1.0)하였다(강$^1$,2001; 강$^2$, 2001; 강$^3$, 2001).   • In apparel industry, the worksheet or product specification document has the function of products design. Drawing up worksheet exactly is important to quality control of apparel products. Every company needs to manage the product data of design-centric to establish TQM environment.   • The current market preassure of least environmental effects of products needs companies to consider whole life cycle of their products during their design phase. To support the integrated and collaborative development of the products, this paper proposed product data model for extended Product Data Managemen (PDM) that can support integrated design of product, manufacturing process, and customer services, based on the consistent and comprehensive PDM databases. The product data model enables design, manufacturing, and service engineers to express their products and services efficiently, with sharing consistent product data, engineering changes, and both economical and environmental evaluations on their design alternatives. The product data model was implemented with a prototype PDM system, and validated through an example product. The result shows that the PDM based on the proposed product data model can support the integrated design for products, manufacturing process, and customer services, and provide an environment of collaborative product development for design, manufacturing and service engineers.

  • 기존의 제품 수명주기 관리 프로그램은 공급망 관리(SCM :Supply Chain Management)의 목적이 강해 그의 기능이 풍부한 반면 PLM적인 요소가 부족하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 PLM을 구성하는 PDM, CPD, CNM, PPM 4가지 요소 중에 하나인 PDM(Product Data Management) 요소를 보강하기 위한 모듈을 개발하여 구현한다. PDM의 기능은 핵심적인 고객가치를 지원하기 위한 제품정보를 관리하는 영역으로 제품구조관리(BOM), 기술문서 관리, 설계변경 관리, 제품 기준정보 관리, Software 형상관리, 환경 유해 물질 관리, 공용화 기능을 포함하고 있는데, 그 중 제품구조관리(BOM)가 가장 중요한 부분이므로 이 부분에 대해 구현한다.

  • In collaborative environment, it is necessary that the participants in collaboration should share the same understanding about the semantics of terms. For example, they should know that 'Part' and 'Item' are different word-expressions for the same meaning. In this paper, we consider sharing between CAD and PDM data. In order to handle such problems in information sharing, an information system needs to automatically recognize that the terms have the same semantics. Serving this purpose, the semantic mapping logic and the ontology based mapper system is described in this paper. In the semantic mapping logic topic, we introduce our logic that consists of four modules: Character Matching, Instance Reasoning, definition comparing and Similarity Checking. In the ontology based mapper, we introduce the system architecture and the mapping procedure.

  • It is certain that the future manufacturing environment will be network-centric and spatially distributed based on Internet. Today, wide variety of distributed computing and communication technologies are available for implementing a system for product data exchange and sharing. One of the technologies that have been received most attentions for product data exchange and sharing is Product Data Management (PDM). PDM tries to integrate and manage process of data and technical documents that are connected to physical product components. In accordance to previous researches about PDM, it can be regarded as an integration tool of many different areas, which ensures that the right information is available to the right person at the right time and in the right form throughout the enterprise. PDM with Web-enabled CAD system is proposed in this paper in order to acknowledge the usefulness of the system mentioned. The system will use Web service on Visual Studio C#.Net to invoke the web application system.

  • The current manufacturers have generated tremendous amount of digitized product data to efficiently share and exchange it with other stakeholders or various software systems for product development. The digitized product data is a valuable asset for manufacturers, and has a potential to support high level strategic decision makings needed at many stages in product development. However, the lack of studies on extraction of key performance indicators(KPIs) from product data management(PDM) databases has prohibited manufacturers to use the product data to support the decision makings. Therefore this paper examines a possibility of an architecture that supports KPIs for evaluation of product development performances, by applying multidimensional product data model and on-line analytic processing(OLAP) to operational databases of product data management. To validate the architecture, the paper provides a prototype product data management system and OLAP applications that implement the multidimensional product data model and analytic processing.
