Turbine Alignment (II): Computer Program Development (발전설비의 터빈 축정렬 (II) : 자동화를 위한 전산 프로그램 개발)

  • When a vibration is generated due to the misalignment, the reduction of the vibration level is not attainable unless a correct shaft alignment is conducted. In a turbine system, an alignment procedure requires quite a lot amount of expense and time. To reduce this effort, an algorithm of the turbine alignment is developed to be used in the computer program. The program consists of five parts : input, calculation, display of the results, file management, and printer output. In the input part, users must provide the data on the turbine number, the reference value of the alignment, and the number of the feet of the generator. In calculation, the moving distance of the bearing and the necessary amount of the shims are calculated. In the display and the output parts, the calculated results are displayed and calculated. Then, by using the file management, results and procedures conducted are saved in the floppy diskette or in the hard disk. The developed program can be run in IBM PC compatible with more than 640 KB of main memory with the operating system of MS-DOS v 3.3 or higher. It is developed for novice users with no experience or specialty in this field. The program is not only useful in the power plant application, but also helpful for recording of the alignment procedures.

Public perception of ambulances (일반인의 구급차 이미지에 대한 인식 유형)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to obtain, categorize, and analyze baseline data regarding the subjective perception of ambulances from the consumers' perspective, which can be utilized for improving emergency medical service systems. Methods: Fifty people aged 20 to 40 years old were selected as P samples. Data from 35 statements of Q-cards and Q-sample distribution plots were gathered using Q-sort and analyzed using the PC-QUANL program for major factor analysis. Results: We found four unique characteristics which accounted for 57.57% of the total variation: "Considerate of emergency situations," "Identifying emergency patients," "Trusting emergency vehicles," and "Sympathizing with emergency patients." Conclusion: Organizations that provide emergency medical services using ambulances should plan and render patient care according to the four types of public perception of ambulances.

  • Low fertility rates and increased life expectancy further exacerbate the process of an aging society. This is also reflected in the gradual increase in the proportion of vulnerable groups in the social population. The demand for improved mobility among vulnerable groups such as the elderly or the disabled has greatly driven the growth of the electric-assisted mobility device market. However, such mobile devices generally require a certain operating capability, which limits the range of vulnerable groups who can use the device and increases the cost of learning. Therefore, autonomous driving technology needs to be introduced to make mobility easier for a wider range of vulnerable groups to meet their needs of work and leisure in different environments. This study uses mini PC Odyssey, Velodyne Lidar VLP-16, electronic device and Linux-based ROS program to realize the functions of working environment recognition, simultaneous localization, map generation and navigation of electric powered mobile devices for vulnerable groups. This autonomous driving mobility device is expected to be of great help to the vulnerable who lack the immediate response in dangerous situations.

  • 고속으로 차량이 주행하는 도로에서 정지 차량이나 낙하물은 큰 사고를 유발하기에 이에 대한 대처 방안이 요구되고 있다. 갑작스런 정지 차량의 경우 예상 불가능하며, 낙하물은 순찰대를 편성하여 주기적으로 수거하고 있으나 즉각적인 대응이 어렵다. 해당 문제 해결을 위해 본 논문에서는 딥러닝 실시간 객체인식기술을 적용하여 정지 차량 및 도로 위 낙하물을 인식하며 이에 대한 정보를 제공하는 시스템을 개발하였다. 실시간 객체인식 알고리즘인 YOLOX와 실시간 객체추적기술인 deepSORT 알고리즘을 데스크톱 PC에 적용하여 구현하였다. 개발한 시스템은 정지 차량 및 낙하물에 대한 인식 결과를 제공한다. 기존 설치된 CCTV 영상을 대상으로 시스템 적용이 가능하여 저비용으로 넓은 지역에 대한 도로 위험 상황 인식을 기대할 수 있다.

Neuro-controller for a XY Positioning Table

  • This paper presents control designs using neural networks (NN) for a XY positioning table. The proposed neurocontroller is composed of an outer PD tracking loop for stabilization of the fast flexible-mode dynamics and an NN inner loop used to compensate for the system nonlinearities. A tuning algorithm is given for the NN weights, so that the NN compensation scheme becomes adaptive, guaranteeing small tracking errors and bounded weight estimates. Formal nonlinear stability proofs are given to show that the tracking error is small. The proposed neuro-controller is implemented and tested on an IBM PC-based XY positioning table, and is applicable to many precision XY tables. The algorithm, simulation, and experimental results are described. The experimental results are shown to be superior to those of conventional control.

  • We have implemented an interactive multimedia education system for C programming. The system consists of two pars. One is multimedia contents to help students better understand C language syntax, programming style, and program logic and the other is a web-based compilation support system that compiles C programs at the server side which are submitted trough Web by students and returns their execution results to the students' PC. Although there are currently some restrictions that students should replace the inputs functions such as scanf(), getc() and getch() with assignment statements or fscanf(fp, , ), since the system has been implemented using general web technologies and shareware C compiler, the education system could be one solution that education institutions seek to reduce annual immense expenditure of money on C complier.

  • In this paper, a real-time monitoring system based on WSN is designed and implemented to monitor livestock growth environment information which includes the temperature, humidity and harmful gases such as $CO_{2},\;CO,\;NH_{3},\;H_{2}S$ and so on. The proposed system consists of the wireless sensor nodes, the monitoring management device, the management server and the user interface program based on PC/Smart phone. To verify the performance of the implemented system, gas measurement experiments are performed in laboratory environment by using the designed wireless sensor nodes. And it is able to estimate the concentration of gases. The implemented system is able to monitor the proposed environmental element information through the developed GUI.

  • 최근 정보통신기술의 발달로 학교 교육 현장에서는 미래형 교육을 위한 새로운 노력들이 시도되고 있다. u-러닝 (Ubiquitous Learning)으로 일컬어지는 이러한 교육을 이끌어가는 도구로서 UMPC (Ultra Mobile Personal Computer)는 기존 PC로 할 수 있는 모든 것을 가능케 하면서 나아가 휴대성과 이동성의 장점까지 겸비해 최근 급부상하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 동향을 반영하여 평생학습 사회에서 누적된 학습을 효과적으로 관리할 수 있도록 UMPC를 기반으로 한 학습 관리 시스템을 설계하였다. 본 시스템의 장점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자기조절학습 이론의 자기조절학습 전략을 적용함으로써 학습자가 능동적이고 자기주도적으로 학습을 점검하고 관리할 수 있도록 하였다. 둘째, 복잡하고 불필요한 기능을 배제하고 기존의 학습 자원과 도구를 최대한 활용하여 시스템의 편의성을 높임으로써 바쁜 일상에서도 간단하게 사용할 수 있는 학습 관리 및 생활 관리 도우미의 역할을 할 수 있도록 하였다. 셋째, 자기 학습에 대한 피드백을 지속적으로 할 수 있도록 도와줌으로써 궁극적으로 학업 성취 향상에 기여할 수 있도록 하였다.

  • 본 논문은 손을 이용하여 가상 객체와 상호작용이 가능한 모바일 증강현실 기술을 소개한다. 제안된 방법은 마커나 센서 없이 손바닥의 특징점만을 이용하여 손바닥 포즈(위치와 방향)를 계산하고, 손바닥 위에 가상 객체를 생성한다. 또한, 손가락 움직임을 추적하여 가상 객체와 자연스러운 상호작용을 가능하게 한다. 본 논문에서는 Ultra-Mobile PC (UMPC)를 이용하여 제안된 방법을 구현하고, 그 유용성을 검증한다.

  • Using a flexible rotating beam test bed, experimental verification of a flexible multibody dynamic simulations for a rotating beam model has been carried out. The test bed consists of a flexible arm, harmonic driver reducer, AC servo motor and DSP board with PC. The mechanical ports of the test bed has been designed using 3D CAD program. For the simulation model, mass and moment of inertia of each part of the flexible rotating beam test bed are also obtained from 3D CAD model. In the flexible multibody dynamic simulations, the substructuring model has been established to capture nonlinear effects of the flexible rotating beam. Through the experimental verification, substructuring model provides better results than those from the linear model in the high speed rotation.
