  • The purpose of this study was to provide the reference information for user and potential users of apparel CAD system is Korea. Two interviews were carried out for the study. The apparel CAD system of Assyst, Gerber and Yuka was selected for technical comparative study. The results were as follows: 1. The future development of the apparel CAD system is the transfer of the developed pattern design from a 3D design system and of CIM concept. 2. The share of data is working closely in a module function. So the Assyst system provide connectivity and communication between all apparel CAD system's module and other automation programs. This system is suitable for CIM production line. 3. The Gerber system is developed the Apparel CAD system which is given by the CAM system's technical ability. This system is given high insurance of ability to the service and data transportation with other systems from users in the Korea. 4. The Yuka system is developed pattern making by the Apparel CAD system. This system's different methods which is compared with other systems are the split grading and auto pattern making. So this system is suitable for users which want to product many items and a little amount garment by using the Apparel CAD system.

  • The modems who lives complicated society, the silence which the Orient thought asserts leads and to get comfortable. It is becoming, the like this social atmosphere will in the interest regarding a manual example and the Orient material, the use of the embroidery textile goods is increasing specially. The purpose of this article is to suggest a model for development of machine embroidery fabric material and highly value added apparel industries. The multi-headed embroidery machine where the application scope is wide from the dissertation, we are requested' NaNa company'. The multiheaded embroidery machine uses TAJIMA TMFD-G620 and SUNSTAR SWF-/B-WD(X) 620-100 the embroidery textile uses the silk, the cotton and the synthesis fertile goods etc 24 type, the embroidery thread Maraton thread(viscose rayon 100%) with used the cord. The 8 Korean motives are made on 23 fabrics, 6 of which are full-sized manufactured one-pieces and the other 17 of which are produced to home interior goods such as curtains or fashion accessories like handbags as simulations. Among the products, the pattern-4-1 and the pattern-4-2 are contracted with local fashion industry, and the pattern-1-1~3 are dealing with other companies in Japan. The computerized machine-embroidering and simulation producing of fashion items are available to reduce the cost in making samples and transfer the old labor & toil-centered industry into the new technique & knowledge centered one.

  • Flame pattern in burner used in steel industry that constitutes 30% of country energy consumption is generally characterized as long narrow flame pattern so that localized heating causes product quality worse and many burners are needed for proper heating. This paper deals with flat wide flame pattern which has advantage in terms of uniform heating using less number of burners. For that purpose, impinging jet system of fuel and oxidant was used for making flat wide flame. Results show that nozzle angle $75^{\circ}$ of impinging jet is found to be optimum configuration for making effective wide flame which has uniform radiation heat transfer and flame temperature is also most uniform along the flame width for that nozzle angle.

  • In low-density areas where travel pattern is widely dispersed and travel demand is relatively low, transit operators find it very difficult to provide a reasonable level of service at a reasonable cost. Timed-transfer system or network, if designed properly, can provide a reasonable level of service for passengers using transit systems serving low-density areas. The paper intends to apply a timed-transfer system for bus lines serving Yangsan City area and to assess the effects resulted from the application. The concept of a timed-transfer network/system is briefly described, and the present conditions of bus systems in Yangsan City area are discussed, focusing on the aspects of network type and the related problems. The bus timed-transfer network for the area is then developed by adjusting the existing routes and network with the consideration of travel time, route alignments, headways and transfer centers. One must note that developing a timed-transfer network presumes that network and schedule should be developed together. The effects of the developed time-transfer system on the passengers and operators are found substantially so as to justify its introduction to the City. The results of this study will be of considerable use for planners to design the transit systems in low density areas, where in general travel activities are widely dispersed and travel demands are low, so that provision of good quality of transit services are difficult.

  • In this study, we have evaluated the effect of amplitude and frequency perturbation of EGG signal during single vowels associated with laryngeal pathology. The normal EGG signal is properly characterized by an autoregressive model which has the optimal order of ninth using the parametric method. This can be analyzed by determining the transfer function. Perturbations in the fundamental pitch and in the peak amplitude of EGG signal derived with a four-electrode system using the modulation/demodulation techniques were investigated for the purpose of developing a decision criteria for the laryngeal function identification.

  • The bubble motion during nucleate boiling in a microchannel is investigated numerically. The liquid-vapor interface is tracked by a level set method which is modified to include the effects of phase change at the interface and contact angle at the wall. The computations are made for various channel sizes, liquid flow rates, and contact angles. Based on the numerical results, the bubble growth pattern and its effect on the flow and heat transfer are discussed.

  • The efficiency of marketing channel of distribution between a sholesaler and a retailer with uncertain characteristics can be improved by influencing the retailer's ordering pattern. The wholesaler with large unit invetory holding cost can offer a large quantity discount tanks to the great benefit which comes from the transfer of part of his inventory to retailer. The retailer's increasing average inventory holding cost can be offset by the quantity discount and by savings of the ordering cost. Conditions under which marketing channel improvement can be possible are derived.

  • The Joint Transform Correlator (JTC) has been the most suitable technique for real time optical pattern recognition and target tracking applications. This paper proposes a new application of the JTC system for an analysis of the blurring effect of the optical images caused by a defocused lens. We present the relation between the correlation peak, optical transfer function (OTF), and the amount of blurring caused by focusing error. Moreover, we show a possibility of calibrating the blurred image by simply measuring the correlation peak.

  • Currently, subway crowding is estimated by observing a specific point at specific hours once or twice every 1 or 2 years. Given the extensive subway network in Seoul Metropolitan Area covering 588 stations, 11 lines and 80 transfer stations as of 2017, implementing crowding mitigation policy may have its limitations due to data uncertainty. A proposal has recently been made to effectively use smart card data, which generates big data on the overall subway traffic related to an estimated 8 million passengers per day. To mitigate subway crowding, this study proposes two viable options based on data related to smart card used in Seoul Metropolitan Area. One is to create a subway passenger pattern model to accurately estimate subway crowding, while the other is to prove effectiveness of early bird policy to distribute subway demand that is concentrated at certain stations and certain time. A subway passenger pattern model was created to estimate the passenger routes based on subway terminal ID at the entrance and exit and data by hours. To that end, we propose assigning passengers at the routes similar to the shortest routes based on an assumption that passengers choose the fastest routes. In the model, passenger flow is simulated every minute, and subway crowding level by station and line at every hour is analyzed while station usage pattern is identified by depending on passenger paths. For early bird policy, highly crowded stations will be categorized based on congestion level extracted from subway passenger pattern model and viability of a policy which transfers certain traveling demands to early commuting hours in those stations will be reviewed. In particular, review will be conducted on the impact of policy implemented at certain stations on other stations and lines from subway network as a whole. Lastly, we proposed that smart card based subway passenger pattern model established through this study used in decision making process to ensure effective implementation of public transport policy.
