Target recognition using multiple necognitron-module (다중 Neocognitron 모둘을 이용한 표적 인식)

  • This aper introduces the multiple Neocognitron module approach for the effective target reognition. The Neocognitron which is designed to classify a pattern by extracting the local features from it, seems to be an unique method that can perform a pattern recognition using the neural networks. But due to its rigid structure, the Neocognitron must be reconstructed whenever there exists a variation on the number of classes. This is a quite difficult problem for the target recognition application that needs huge amount of computation and numerous classes to be classified. In this paper, we construct several smaller Necognitrom modules and train each module to adapt each class. After construction of the mulules, we integrate them in parallel so as to adaopt input at the same time and to produce each score that shold be matched to be learned class. This approach can reduce the sizes of the networks and is adaptive to the increase of classes as well as the authentic distortion, shift, scale variation and slight rotation invariant properties of general Neocognitron. This paper show the effectiveness of the proposed approach through some experience and performs analysis of the inhibitory interconnections in the architecture of the multiple module structure.

  • This paper is proposed the Suboptimal PAWM(Pulse Amplitude Width Modulation) for minimize harmonic effects generated by switching operation of PWM Inverter. This strategy determine one switching pattern at a fixed point(fundamental) voltage u1=1.2) which THD(Total Harmonic Distortion) are minimized in the suboptimal PWM strategy, and controls only frequency in the inverter while voltage control is carried out by DC Chopper in the DC Link. This strategy is applied at VSD(Variable Speed Drive) of Three phase induction moter, and acoustic noise of motor, line to line voltage and current of inverter, current harmonic spectrum was estimated and also compared with other switching strategy. From the results, the validity of this strategy can be verified.

  • Conventionally, PCB fabrication processes detects simply electrical characteristics of TCP and COF by automatic manufacturing system and additionally, by introducing human visual detection, those are very ineffective in view of low cost implementation. So, this paper presents an efficient detection algorithm for short and protrusion-type defects based on reference images by using local binary pattern analysis. The proposed methods include several preprocessing techniques such as histogram equalizing, the compensation of spatial position and maximum distortion coordination Through several experiments, it is shown that the proposed method can improve the defect detection performance compared to the conventional schemes.

  • In this study, a design method using plane actuator is developed to make new speaker system, whose shape is much thinner than that of conventional loudspeaker. Piezofilm(PVDF) is used as plane actuator of flat speaker. To avoid the distortion of sound radiated from flat speaker, the frequency response of radiated sound to be flat is taken as the design objective. The electrode pattern and orientation angle of piezofilm actuator is optimized to satisfy the design objective. The formulation is based on the coupled finite element and boundary element method. Genetic algorithm is used in the optimization process, which is useful in the optimization of discrete design variables. Frequency response with optimized piezofilm actuator is made flat enough to satisfy the design objective. For the enhancement of sound power, double-layered piezofilm actuators are also considered. The sound power with double-layered actuator becomes larger than that with single-layered actuator as expected.

  • In this paper, control scheme of the three phase VSI(Voltage Source Inverter) for 200KVA UPS is described. The proposed controller is designed to robust against parameter variations, disturbances and load change using PI controller. The switching pattern is determined to Ramp Comparison Method. The inverter provides pure sinusoidal output voltage with very low THD (Total Harmonic Distortion). Finally, the performance of the proposed inverter is shown by experimental result.

  • In this paper, a voltage and current control scheme of a three-phase voltage source inverter for UPS is described. The inverter provides pure sinusoidal output voltage with very low THD(Total Harmonic Distortion). The proposed controller is designed to robust against the load change, parameter variations, and disturbances using PI controller. The switching pattern is determined to Space Vector Modulation. Finally, the performance of the proposed inverter is shown and discussed by simulation.

  • This paper proposes a new switching scheme of a static var compensator(SVC) with cascade multilevel inverter which employs H-bridge inverter(HBI). To improve the un­balanced problem of the DC capacitor voltages, the rotated switching scheme of fundamental frequency is newly used. The optimized fundamental switching pattern with low switching frequency is adapted to be suitable for high application. The selective harmonic elimination method(SHEM) allows to keep the total harmonic distortion(THD) low in the output voltage of multilevel inverter. The SVC system is modeled using the d-q transform which calculates the instantaneous reactive power. This model is used to design a controller and analyze the SVC system. Simulated and experimental results are also presented and discussed to validate the proposed schemes.

  • The visual evoked potentials(VEPs) is used to assist in the diagnosis of specific disorders associated with involvement of the sensory visual pathways. The P100 latency is an important parameter which is diagnosis of optic nerve disorders. There are characteristics of latency delay, wave distortion, amplitude deduction in abnormal subjects. It is difficult to diagnose in the case of producing peak at the P100 latency. In this paper, difference of pattern between normal VEPs and abnormal VEPs using the Choi-Williams distribution method is studied. We observed the relationship about time and spectrum. The result shown that normal VEPs had maximum spectral value at 20Hz~26.7Hz and abnormal VEPs had maximum spectral value at 16.7Hz~20Hz. Also normal VEPs spectrum is higher than abnormal VEPs spectrum.

  • The pressure distribution between body and seat surface has been considered as one of the most important factors which affect seation comfort. The pattern of body pressure distribution has been an index of measuring comfort of an automobile seat. There has been numerous studies that measured the body pressure distribution. But, studies have many problems(pressure distortion, resolution, reliability, portability, usability, and shape fitness) in measuring the body pressure distribution. In this study, the new body pressure distribution measuring equipment has been developed by using the thin, flat, and polymer-film devices known as Force Sensing Resistors(FSRs) in order to solve those problems.

  • 멀티 레벨 인버터는 높은 출력 전압을 갖으며, 낮은 THD(Total harmonic distortion)를 요구하는 시스템에 적합하다. 그 중 cascaded H-brige 멀티레벨 인버터는 H-bridge 셀별 관리가 쉽고, 레벨 수를 증가시키기 쉽다는 장점 때문에 많이 이용되어 왔다. 본 논문에서는 cascaded H-bridge 인버터의 기존 PI (proportional integral) 제어 기반 PWM (pulse width modulation)기법의 스위칭 패턴과 모델 예측 제어의 스위칭 패턴을 비교하고 모델예측 제어 시 셀 별 스위칭 패턴 균형을 위한 방법을 제안한다.
