  • This study aims at advancing waterfront of Pusan Port and attempting to establish an identity through studying characteristics of place in Pusan Port. The place is consisted of two elements ; orientation and identity, which is expressed clearly the environmental totality including the character and space. The urban waterfront is also one of the place pattern, and that is consist of land area, water area, and transit zone combining two areas. Although there are a lot of primary factors to be able to make the most of the character and identity in Pusan port, badly planned development prevents the plan promoting the sense of place in urban waterfront. The point in the waterfront development plan of Pusan Port is how to secure aminities based on Identity and Orientation; node, landmark, edge, path, district. The result of this study is for planners to develop more and systematic approaches which could utilize waterfront.

  • Float has been just recognized spare time for disposing of unexpected conditions as by-product of CPM(critical-path-method) calculations, in spite of important method for construction period, taking in material, human supply and cost reducation in construction process management. Also float necessary follow method of contract by ownership problem and effect construct management of use. The purpose of this study was to examine current recognition and application grade of float in construction project. In addition, the study proposes improvement strategies of float application for efficient progress plan and control.

Sequential pattern load modeling and warning-system plan in modular falsework

  • This paper investigates the structural behavior of modular falsework system under sequential pattern loads. Based on the studies of 25 construction sites, the pattern load sequence modeling is defined as models R (rectangle), L and U. The study focuses on the system critical loads, regions of largest reaction forces, discrepancy between the pattern load and the uniform load, and the warning-system plan. The analysis results show that the critical loads of modular falsework systems with sequential pattern loads are very close to those with the uniform load used in design. The regions of largest reaction forces are smaller than those calculated by the uniform load. However, the regions of largest reaction forces of three models under sequential pattern loads can be considered as the crucial positions of warning-system based on the measured index of loading. The positions of the sensors for the warning-system for these three different models are not identical.

  • Nowadays, the consuming society, the quality of wideness is increasing as the economic life level increases. Modern's any of large department stores, playing a very important role in the middle of our consuming culture, is creating a new life culture and life patterns including producing a new consuming value, too. This is a plan for a renewal design of an inner shop at a department store for brand launching in Seoul, which was planed to escape from the brand's own cold color to show up the product's color using indirect illumination. It was also considered clients' path lines who may keep at a distance to come into an expensive brand's store by designing the whole area as a show room, so there a window display and a harmony with the products let the shop be well functionalized.

  • This paper presents the ability and the application of software packages for distribution planning which are DISPLAN(Distribution Planning System) and DLPLAN(Distribution Line Planning System) developed in KEPCO. After calculating size and position of maximum load by administration section for distribution, it forecasts the demand of distribution load considering growth location, increment, new load plan, etc of load by annual. Also it calculates distribution loss, voltage drop using modeled distribution line by you, and support for establishment and enlargement plan of substation and distribution line, decision of most optimal path. And it presents the abstract of used algorithm to develop this system.

  • Many kinds of problems by stack effect occur in the high-rise buildings that have the simple plan on the first floor designed only by an external wall and an E/V shaft wall. Therefore, some buildings in the foreign countries has made the additional inside walls between lobby and E/V hall as a countermeasure on stack effect. An additional wall in the lobby is very useful countermeasure on stack problems because lobby is a main airflow path in the building. Decreasing effect on stack problems by an additional wall of lobby is reported in this study. An ordinary office building that has a simple lobby plan is simulated and measured in this study. The results show that characteristics on stack effect are changed by methods of applying additional walls and that alternations of countermeasures which building conditions like the kinds of problems and the problem's velocity etc. are considered are very important.

  • This paper presents a process and operation planning system with an NC code post-processor for effective machining of press dies for production of cars. Based on the machining features, major parts of press dies are categorized into 15 groups and a standard process plan is defined for each group. The standard process plan consists of a series of processes where a process is defined as a group of operations that can be done with one setup. Details such as cutting tools, cutting conditions, and tool paths are decided at the operation planning stage. At the final stage of process and operation planning, the NC code post-processor we developed adjusts feedrates along the tool path to reduce machining time. The adjustment rule is selected based on the metal removal rate estimated by virtually machining with virtual cutting tool.

  • In this paper, We designed the local path planning direction algorithmusing fuzzy controller applied fuzzy logic. Algorithm decieded a direction angle by theposition of obstacle, the distance with obstacle, the progress direction of robot, the speed of vehicles and the perception area of sensor. The robot designed with proposed algorithm carried out soft moving without any particular operation, and we could observe that it had very soft curved moving as if an expert drove.

  • A simple look and move type navigation algorithm with obstacle avoidance was implemented on a mobile robot equipped with two cameras. The robot gets a difference of two images from each camera and detects the position represented on the horizontal line and width of each obstacle in a certain distance. The obtained informations of obstacles are used to select a next intermediate point and to plan a path to it. Robot motion is simplified to straight line motion and rotation.

  • In this paper, we propose the formation control algorithm for swarm robots. The proposed algorithm uses the artificial potential field(APF) to plan the global path of swarm robots and to control the formation movement. The navigation function generates a global APF for a leader robot to reach a given destination and an avoidance function generates a local APF for follow robots to avoid obstacles. Finally, some simulations show the validity of the proposed method.
