In this paper, an efficient system for finding answers to a given path algebra expression in a directed acylic graph is discussed more particulary, in a multimedia presentration graph. Path algebra expressions are formulated using revised versions of operators next and until of temporal logic, and the connected operator. To evaluate queries with path algebra expressions, the node code system is proposed. In the node code system, the nodes of a presentation graph are assigned binary codes (node codes) that are used to represent nodes and paths in a presentation graph. Using node codes makes it easy to find parent-child predecessor-sucessor relationships between nodes. A pair of node codes for connected nodes uniquely identifies a path, and allows efficient set-at-a-time evaluations of path algebra expressions. In this paper, the node code representation of nodes and paths in multimedia presentation graphs are provided. The efficient algorithms for the evaluation of queries with path algebra expressions are also provided.
BGP is the most important protocol among routing protocols that exchange routing information to create routing tables and update changed information so that users on the Internet can send information to destination systems. This paper analyzes how to prevent malicious attacks and problems caused by network administrator's mistakes by using vulnerabilities in BGPv4 that are currently used. We analyzed the attack methods by performing the actual attack experiment on the AS-PATH attack, which is the attack method for BGP's representative security vulnerability, and proposed the algorithm to identify the AS-PATH attack.
The existing XML storage methods which use relational data model, usually store path information for every node type including literal contents in order to keep the structural information of XML documents. Such path information is usually maintained by an inverted index to efficiently process XPath queries for large XML documents. In this study, We propose an improved approach that retrieve information from the large volume of XML documents stored in a relational database, while using a segment-based inverted index for path searches. Our new approach can reduce the number of searching an inverted index for getting target path information. We show the effectiveness of this approach through several experiments that compare XPath query performance with the existing methods.

RIP, EIGRP, OSPF are the interior gateway protocol for sending and receiving routing information among routers in AS(Autonomous System). Various path selection methods using the metric in regard to them have been studied recently but there are few examples that the contents learners understand theoretically are verified by the practice. The Best Path is determined by calculating the Cost value based on the relevant topology of each routing protocol. After implementing the virtual network, it is certain that the results tracking and verifying the relevant path selection of each routing protocol are consistent with the Best Path. If methods suggested in this paper are applied properly, the relevant path selection process of routing protocol can be understood systematically. And it is expected that the outstanding results of learning will be able to be achieved.
This paper analyzes the accuracy of free space path loss and matched filter gain approximated by using a passband rectangular pulse for ultra wideband (UWB) radio systems. The example causal signal, a modulated Gaussian pulse with the same center frequency and frequency bandwidth of the passband rectangular pulse, is used to consider the accuracy. The path loss and matched filter gain of the modulated Gaussian pulse are simulated for the reference results. The UWB free space path loss is shown and is compared with that obtained from simulation and Friis' transmission formula. The UWB matched filter gain is shown and compared with simulation results. From the results, we can see that the UWB path loss formula is more accurate than the Friis' transmission formula. The results from the UWB free space path loss and matched filter gain formulas agree with the simulation. Then, these free space path loss and matched filter gain formulas approximated by using a passband rectangular pulse are appropriate for UWB system.

This paper proposes a new technique that produces improved local information using a low-cost GPS/INS system combined with Extended Kalman Filter and Path Planning when a Quad-rotor flies. In the research, a low-cost GPS is combined with INS by Extended Kalman Filter to improve local information. However, this system has disadvantages in that estimation accuracy is getting worsens when the Quad-rotor flies through the air in a curve and precision of location information is influenced by performance of the used GPS. An algorithm based on Path Planning is adopted to deal with these weaknesses. When the Quad-rotor flies outdoors, a short moving path can be predicted because all short moving paths of quad-rotor can be assumed to be straight. Path planning is used to make the short moving path and determine the closest local information of data of the GPS/INS system to location determined by path planning. Through the foregoing process, improved local data is obtained when the quad-rotor flies, and the performance of the proposed system is verified from various outdoor experiments.

Conventional path planning methods have focused on the generation of an optimal shortest path to the goal. However, this optimal path cannot guarantee safe navigation, because it can often lead to a narrow area. Therefore, we propose a Coulomb's law-based safe path planning method that uses an information grid map. The information grid map includes four types of information: occupied, empty, guide, and dangerous areas. A safe path can be generated away from the dangerous area and close to the guide area by repulsive and attractive forces, respectively. Experiments and simulations show that the proposed method can generate paths inside the safe region and is useful for safe navigation.

Neighbor path selection is to pre-select alternate routes in case geographically correlated failures occur simultaneously on the communication network. Conventional heuristic-based algorithms no longer improve solutions because they cannot sufficiently utilize historical failure information. We present a novel solution model for neighbor path selection by using machine learning technique. Our proposed machine learning neighbor path selection (ML-NPS) model is composed of five modules- random graph generation, data set creation, machine learning modeling, neighbor path prediction, and path information acquisition. It is implemented by Python with Keras on Tensorflow and executed on the tiny computer, Raspberry PI 4B. Performance evaluations via numerical simulation show that the neighbor path communication success probability of our model is better than that of the conventional heuristic by 26% on the average.

As one of the new self-organizing and self-configuration broadband networks, wireless mesh networks are being increasingly attractive. In order to solve the load balancing problem in wireless mesh networks, this paper proposes a novel multi-path routing algorithm based on clustering (Cluster_MMesh) for wireless mesh networks. In the clustering stage, on the basis of the maximum connectivity clustering algorithm and k-hop clustering algorithm, according to the idea of maximum connectivity, a new concept of node connectivity degree is proposed in this paper, which can make the selection of cluster head more simple and reasonable. While clustering, the node which has less expected load in the candidate border gateway node set will be selected as the border gateway node. In the multi-path routing establishment stage, we use the intra-clustering multi-path routing algorithm and inter-clustering multi-path routing algorithm to establish multi-path routing from the source node to the destination node. At last, in the traffic allocation stage, we will use the virtual disjoint multi-path model (Vdmp) to allocate the network traffic. Simulation results show that the Cluster_MMesh routing algorithm can help increase the packet delivery rate, reduce the average end to end delay, and improve the network performance.
For improving the effectiveness of travel information, some rational paths are needed to provide them to users driving in real road network. To meet it, k-shortest path algorithms have been used in general. Although the k-shortest path algorithm can provide several alternative paths, it has inherent limit of heavy overlapping among derived paths, which nay lead to incorrect travel information to the users. In case of considering the network consisting of several turn prohibitions popularly adopted in real world network, it makes difficult for the traditional network optimization technique to deal with. Banned and penalized turns are not described appropriately for in the standard node/link method of network definition with intersections represented by nodes only. Such problem could be solved by expansion technique adding extra links and nodes to the network for describing turn penalties, but this method could not apply to large networks as well as dynamic case due to its overwhelming additional works. This paper proposes a link-based shortest path algorithm for the travel information in real road network where exists turn prohibitions. It enables to provide efficient alternative paths under consideration of overlaps among paths. The algorithm builds each path based on the degree of overlapping between each path and stops building new path when the degree of overlapping ratio exceeds its criterion. Because proposed algorithm builds the shortest path based on the link-end cost instead or node cost and constructs path between origin and destination by link connection, the network expansion does not require. Thus it is possible to save the time or network modification and of computer running. Some numerical examples are used for test of the model proposed in the paper.
