Reliable Autonomous Reconnaissance System for a Tracked Robot in Multi-floor Indoor Environments with Stairs (다층 실내 환경에서 계단 극복이 가능한 궤도형 로봇의 신뢰성 있는 자율 주행 정찰 시스템)

  • This paper presents a robust autonomous navigation and reconnaissance system for tracked robots, designed to handle complex multi-floor indoor environments with stairs. We introduce a localization algorithm that adjusts scan matching parameters to robustly estimate positions and create maps in environments with scarce features, such as narrow rooms and staircases. Our system also features a path planning algorithm that calculates distance costs from surrounding obstacles, integrated with a specialized PID controller tuned to the robot's differential kinematics for collision-free navigation in confined spaces. The perception module leverages multi-image fusion and camera-LiDAR fusion to accurately detect and map the 3D positions of objects around the robot in real time. Through practical tests in real settings, we have verified that our system performs reliably. Based on this reliability, we expect that our research team's autonomous reconnaissance system will be practically utilized in actual disaster situations and environments that are difficult for humans to access, thereby making a significant contribution.

  • AGVs are often used in industrial applications to transport heavy materials around a large industrial building, such as factories or warehouses. In particular, in fulfillment centers their usefulness is maximized for automation. To increase productivity in warehouses such as fulfillment centers, sophisticated path planning of AGVs is required. We propose a scheme that can be applied to QMIX, a popular cooperative MARL algorithm. The performance was measured with three metrics in several fulfillment center layouts, and the results are presented through comparison with the performance of the existing QMIX. Additionally, we visualize the transport paths of trained AGVs for a visible analysis of the behavior patterns of the AGVs as heat maps.

  • In this paper, we design a 2D one touch runner game which controls on smart device easily using a Unity3D game engine. Unity is the creator of the world's widely-used 2D and the 3D cross-platform game engine developed by Unity Technologies. Also, Unity builds high-quality 2D and 3D games on a various hardware device. This paper shows the familiar character as a cartoon and feels to enjoy using platformer with various game users. we show that the proposed platformer method improve controlling game path on the smart device.

  • This paper presents an obstacle avoidance of a mobile robot by the subgoal generation using infrared sensors. When an obstacle appears on the path which the robot is moving forward the robot has to get information, such as distance between the robot and the obstacle and the shape of the obstacle for avoidance behavior. Our collision avoidance algorithm needs the only distance between the robot and the obstacles. The distances are used for subgoal generation. Simulation results show that a robot can go to the goal, carrying out subgoal generation and avoiding obstacles.

  • This paper presents the leg trajectory generation for the quadruped robot with genetic-fuzzy algorithm. To have the nobility even at uneven terrain, a robot is able to recognize obstacles, and generates moving path of body that can avoid obstacles. This robot should have its own avoidance algorithm against obstacles, forwarding to target without collision. During walking period, n robot recognizes obstacle from external environment with a PSD and some interface, and this obstacle information is converted into proper the body rotation angle by fuzzy inference engine. After this process, we can infer the walking direction and walking distance of body, and finally can generate the optimal Beg trajectory using genetic algorithm. All these methods are verified with PC simulation program, and implemented to SERO-V robot.

  • Novel Front End Module(FEM) with improved pedestrian protection is very important to reduce the severity of pedestrian injury. The FEM needs to have enough space from hood to absorb the energy from any pedestrian collision. In this study, the cooling performance of the FEM to cool the engine was investigated under 25% height reduction. The results indicated that the cooling performance analysis was about 86% level compared to that of the conventional FEM. Also, good qualitative agreement between CFD predictions and experimental measurements was found. This FEM needs the cooling performance enhancement for changed air flow path at the frontal part of vehicle. Therefore, we showed an improved performance using air guide setup and shape modification under the high load condition.

  • An impeller is difficult to machine because of severe collision due to the complex shape, overlapping and twisted shape that form impeller blades. So, most CAM software companies have developed CAM module for manufacturing impeller in addition to their CAM software. But it is not still easy for inexperienced users to machine impellers. The purpose of this paper is the development of automatic CAM module for manufacturing impeller(E-ICAM) which is based on visual basic language and it is used CATIA graphical environment in order to be easily machining impellers. Automatic CAM module for manufacturing of impellers generates tool path, and proposes recommended cutting condition according to the material of stock and tool. In addition, it has also included a post processor for 5-axis control machining. Therefore the user can easily machine impellers using this automation module.

  • In this paper, we studied about AGVs modeling and material handling automation simulation using a virtual AGV. The proposed virtual AGV model that operates independently each other is based on a real AGV. Continuous straight-line and workstation model using vector drawing method that could easily, rapidly work system modeling are suggested. Centralized traffic control, which could collision avoidance in intersection and should not stop AGV as possible, and algorithm for detour routing which performs when another AGV is working in pre-routed path are proposed. The traffic control and the algorithm have been proved efficiently by simulation.

  • A new method for a guide robot using Real-Time Linux OS is introduced in this paper. A guide robot is to guide people in museums or buildings. So it has to be more reliable and stable in its control system. In addition, it has to satisfy Real-Time operation requirement because it needs to react to changing environment prompty. The task includes localization, map building, collision avoidance, path planning, and user interface software. The modular guide robot is designed with Real-Time Linux OS, which is composed of many open sources for scheduler, interrupt dispatcher, fifos, shared memory, timer services. We developed application software to satisfy the given task.   • Recently, there are lots of concerning on the integration of robot and virtual reality with the trends of the research of intelligent robot and mined reality. In this paper, a 3D GUI system is proposed based on Internet for remote controlling and monitoring of agent robot working for itself. The proposed system is consists of a manager ordering a new position and displaying the motion of robot, an agent robot moving to the destination according to the indication, a positioning module detecting the current position of robot, and a geographical information module. A user can order the robot agent move to a new position in a virtual space and watch the real images captured from the real sites of the robot. Then, the agent robot moves to the position automatically with avoiding collision by using range finding and a path detection algorithm. We demonstrate the proposed 3D GUI system is supporting a more convenient remote control means far the robots.
