An RFID system has been widely applied in many areas over the initial SCM application. In the literature enormous RFID applications in healthcare are documented to improve patient safety, patient/provider logistics, and the efficiency of collecting data. Based on the proposed 4-layered RFID system architecture, we introduce a case that implemented an UHF passive RFID-based tracking system in an outpatient clinic. Particularly, we propose a method to process RFID data that contains noise and missing reads. The proposed method for processing unreliable RFID data is capable to locate the tag accurately and provide additional business information. We finally conclude the paper with identifying obstacles and what is necessary to ensure system reliability.
In this paper, we present a demodulation structure suitable for a reader baseband receiver in a passive radio frequency identification (RFID) environment. In a passive RFID configuration, an undesirable DC-offset phenomenon may appear in the baseband of the reader receiver, which can severely degrade the performance of the extraction of valid information from the received tag signal. To eliminate this DC-offset phenomenon, the primary feature of the proposed demodulation structures for the received FM0 and Miller subcarrier signals is to reconstruct the signal corrupted by the DC-offset phenomenon by creating peak signals from the corrupted signal. It is shown that the proposed method can successfully detect valid data, even when the received baseband signal is distorted by the DC-offset phenomenon.

A Dual-Path Voltage Multiplier for passive RFID Tags was proposed and fabricated by using a 0.25um CMOS process with additional steps for schottky diodes. The proposed circuit needs only 4 additional diodes, and the area increment compared to conventional one is negligible in multi-stage voltage multipliers. The simulation and measurement results show that the output power capability of proposed multiplier are about two times larger than the conventional half-wave multiplier.

In this paper, we have designed a RFID reader receiver system for improving the performance of the passive Tag based 9$'908.5{\sim}914MHz'$ RFID reader, and analyzed the system performance according to the frequency, the reader, and tag properties. The commercial receive system causes a loss in sensitivity because of 24 capacitors and 6 inductors. So we have designed an improved system using a circulator, LNA and a SAW filter. The experimental results show that the use of a circulator to separate the Tx/Rx paths eliminates interference, the LNA improves the sensitivity of the Rx module and SAW filter eliminates the noise and spurious components in the received signal.
This paper presents the mobile robot initial velocity estimation using spatial/temporal information from passive RFID system. A mobile robot is traveling along a sequence of line segments, each at a constant velocity, and the number of passive tags sensed at every sampling instant is at most one. To simplify the problem, a mobile robot is commanded to traverse two passive tags with steering angle unchanged. The 6th order polynomial equation for the mobile robot initial velocity estimation is obtained, along with some discussion on resolving the multiplicity of solutions.

Recently, Selim et al proposed public key cryptography based privacy preserving multi-context RFID authentication protocol. However Selim et al's proposed protocol not only doesn't fit into passive tag based RFID system because it uses public key based encryption algorithm to perform authentication between reader and tag, but also is insecure to an impersonation attack because it doesn't provide mutual authentication. In order to eliminate the above described efficiency problem and security vulnerabilities, this paper proposes a new multi-context RFID mutual authentication protocol that can prevent privacy invasion and tag impersonation attack through providing mutual authentication between single passive tag which is located different application space and readers which provide multi-context purposes and can secure against relay attack and denial-of-service attack. As a result, the proposed protocol performs secure mutual authentication based on the collected space and time information from the RFID reader and provides strong security and high computation efficiency because if performs secure one-way hash function and symmetric encryption operations suitable to the environments of passive RFID tags.

This study, in particular, aims to regulate the core techniques of ubiquitous computing, such as the use of an ad hoc network and the smart-tag technique, and to look more closely into RFID Tag's smart-tag-related security service. The study aims to do so because several important technical factors and structures must be taken into account for RFID Tag to be applied in the ubiquitous-computing-related infrastructure, and the security of the tag is considered one of the core technologies. To realize secure ubiquitous computing in the case of the Passive-tag-Performing RF communication, a less costly security service, the technical items needed to carry this out, a security service to be applied to passive tags, and network management techniques are required. Therefore, the passive-tag-based networks as the authentication level is established based on the secure authentication of each tag and the service that the tag delivers in the passive-tag-based networks and as the same service and authentication levels are applied, and the active-tag-based network system proposed herein is not merely a security service against illegal RFID tags by performing a current-location and service registration process after the secure authentication process of the active RFID tag, but is also a secure protocol for single and group services, is proposed in this study.

This paper presents the efficient localization of a mobile robot traveling on the floor with tags installed, using the spatial and temporal information acquired from passive RFID environment. Compared to previous research, the proposed localization method can reduce the position estimation error and also cut down the initial cost tag installation cost. Basically, it is assumed that a mobile robot is traveling over a series of straight line segments, each at a certain constant velocity, and that the number of tags sensed by a mobile robot at each sampling instant is at most one. First, the velocity and position estimation of a mobile robot starting from a known position, which is valid for all segments except the first one. Second, for the first segment in which the starting position is unknown, the velocity and position estimation is made possible by enforcing a mobile robot to traverse at least two tags at a constant velocity with the steering angle unchanged. Third, through experiments using our passive RFID localization system, the validity and performance of the mobile robot localization proposed in this paper is demonstrated.
This paper presents the development of a stock control system of POP system design based on RFID in SCM and its economic efficiency. A stock control system is proposed for 900MHz passive type RFID system. The RFID system is composed of a RFID reader and four antennas to read the tag IDs. A cost estimation model is adapted based on the total product profit by various tag prices. The result of the economic efficiency analysis can indicate any invested model for the automation system which have initial investment should be used. This solution indicates the limit of the break even point according to the input. And it can be concluded that the stock control can be developed by RFID readers and passive tags with directional arrangement of several antennas. Also, the economical evaluation model can be a decision method for company to adapt the new developed system.
This paper proposed to recognize and tracking the ID and location when a person and objects moved from indoor using RFID a type of passive tag. An antenna was installed in both sides of a door due to the limitation of a recognition distance. And frequency bandwidth was used to the 134.2kHz bandwidth to pass and bend several obstacles. Because a type of passive tag is a semi -permanent and miniaturization, it has applied to this paper.
