Recognizing the importance of the multi-purpose management of natural deciduous forest, this study was carried out to implement the partial cutting for stand regulation to examine agroforestry practice as well as other concurrent forest resource production, and to investigate the changes in stand characteristics and understory vegetation in a silvopasture practiced natural deciduous stand in the Research Forest of Kangwon National University, Korea. Three different partial cutting intensities (68.1%, 48.6%, and control) were performed in the unmanaged natural deciduous stand in order to improve the growing condition, especially light condition, for introducing some commercial herbaceous plants on the forest floor to establish agroforestry and/or silvopastoral system. Dominated by Quercus varibilis Blume (50.5%) and Quercus dentata Thum. ex Murray (42.6%), eight tree species were composed of the study forest, including poles of Pinus desiflora Siebold & Zucc and sapling of Pinus Koraiensis Siebold & Zucc. The total of 87 (13 tree species, 12 shrub species, 58 herbaceous species, and 4 woody climbers) vascular plant species were observed in study site after partial cutting treatments, while that of before partial cutting was 53 species (14 tree species, 8 shrubs species, 30 herbaceous species, and 1 woody climbers). The proportion of life form spectra in plot B was Mi (28.4%)-Na (23.0%)-Ge (17.5%)-Ch (10.8%)-He (9.5%)-MM (6.7%)-Th (4.1%). No statistically significant differences were observed in changes of life form spectra from before to after partial cutting treatment and among partial cutting gradients in this study. Partial cutting and scratching for forage sowing made plants invade easily on the forest floor, and light partial cutting (LPC) plot (500 stems/ha) had much higher number of undersory species than those of heavy partial cutting (HPC) plot (310 stems/ha) and control plot (1,270 stems/ha).

Generally, we take a bath to obtain a clean body as well as a good health. Human body generates various physical and emotional changes by stimulations of therapeutic effect of heat and hydraulic pressures. Accordingly, we can obtain not only relaxations but also effects of hydrotherapy. The survey of bathing/showering behaviors and therapeutic effect of heat reactions present elementary data for development of a bathing/showering system. However, there are few existing data for bathing/showering behaviors and effects. Consequently, surveys were performed to know patterns of bathing and showering, and relations between physiological changes and water temperature were examined by partial bathing on human body in this study.

Using continuous wave near-infrared spectroscopy, we measured time-resolved concentration changes of oxy-hemoglobin and deoxy-hemoglobin from the primary motor cortex following finger tapping tasks. These data were processed using partial least squares-discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) to develop a prediction model for a brain-computer interface. The tasks were composed of a series of finger tapping for 15 sec and relaxation for 45 sec. The location of the motor cortex was confirmed by the anti-phasic behavior of the oxy- and deoxy-hemoglobin changes. The results were compared with those obtained using the hidden Markov model (HMM) which has been known to produce the best prediction model. Our data imply that PLS-DA makes better judgments in determining the onset of the events than HMM.
The paper reviews and discusses the substantive changes to the ASCE 49-21 Standard, Wind Tunnel Testing for Buildings and Other Structures. The most significant changes are the requirements for wind field simulations that utilize (i) partial turbulence simulations, (ii) partial model simulations for the flow around building Appurtenances, along with requirements for determining wind loads on products that are used at multiple sites in various configurations. These modifications tend to have the effect of easing the precise scaling requirements for flow simulations because it is not generally possible to construct accurate models for small elements placed, for example, on large buildings at the scales typically available in boundary layer wind tunnels. Additional discussion is provided on changes to the Standard with respect to measurement accuracy and data acquisition parameters, such as duration of tests, which are also related to scaling requirements. Finally, research needs with respect to aerodynamic mechanisms are proposed, with the goal of improving the understanding of the role of turbulence on separated-reattaching flows on building surfaces in order to continue to improve the wind tunnel method for determining design wind loads.
The present study was carried out to investigate the effect of the partial freezing as a means of keeping freshness of mullet (Mugil cephlus). Living samples were killed and stored by icing, partial freezing at $-3^{\circ}C$ and freezing at $-30^{\circ}C$, respectively, Changes in the freshness of the mullet muscle and the phys cal properties of its meat paste product were examined during storage. The results obtained are summarized as follows: The period that k value reached to $20\%$ during storage was the longest in the frozen storage, followed by the partial frozen storage and the ice storage, which was 4 days in the mullet muscle stored by partial freezing. In the case of VBN content, it was below 20 mg/100g in the mullet muscle stored by icing and partial freezing. The oxidation of lipids in the mullet muscle was greater in the ice storage than in the partial frozen storage. The myofibrillar protein of the mullet muscle was appeared to decrease during storage, which the decreasing ratios during storage for 9 days were below $3\%$ in the frozen storage, $17\%$ in the ice storage and $10\%$ in the partial frozen storage. While, the alkali-soluble protein showed to increase and in non-protein nitrgenous compounds, sarcoplasmic protein and stroma was not a great change during storage. The decrease of gel strength, folding strength and texture of meat paste products prepared under different storage conditions was the greatest in the ice storage, the next in the partial frozen storage and such changes in the frozen storage were not so much. In gel strength of the product prepared with sample fishes stored for 10 days, the gel strength in the ice storage, partial frozen storage and frozen storage was about $30\%,\;60\%\;and\;97\%$ of the control. respectively. The expressible drip of the products increased with storage time of raw fishes, which that of the products prepared with sample fishes stored for 15 days was about 2.1 times in the ics storage, about 1.5 times in the partial frozen storage and about 1.1 times in frozen storage as much as that of the control, respectively.
$RuO_2$ thin films were prepared with various deposition conditions by rf magnetron sputtering. The films were annealed in vacuum, air, and air-vacuum, after that, the structural and electrical properties of the films were investigated. As the substrate temperature increases, the preferred orientation of the films changes from (101) to (200), and the grain size increases; especially, at $500^{\circ}C$, the size considerably increases. The preferred orientation of the films changes from (200) to (101) and the roughness of surface increase with the increase in oxygen partial pressure. The lowest value of resistivity of $RuO_2$ we prepared is $1.5\times 10^{-5}\Omega\codt\textrm{cm}$ at the conditions of $400^{\circ}C$ and 10% of oxygen partial pressure. After the processes of annealing, the films deposited at $400^{\circ}C$ and a oxygen partial pressure of 10% were relatively stable. The films deposited at $500^{\circ}C$ have denser structure and smoother surface when the films are annealed in vacuum after annealing in air.
Assume that at a certain locus there are three genotypes and that for every one progeny produced by an IAIA homozygote, the heterozygote IAIB produces. W. Choi found the adapted partial differential equations for the density and operator of the frequency for one gene and applied this adapted partial differential equations to several diploid model. Also, he found adapted partial differential equations for the diploid model against recessive homozygotes and in case that the alley frequency occurs after one generation of selection when there is no dominance. (see. [1, 2]). In this paper, we find the adapted partial equations for the model of selection against heterozygotes and in case that the allele frequency changes after one generation of selection when there is overdominance. Finally, we shall find the partial differential equation of general type of selection at diploid model and it also shall apply to actual examples. This is a very meaningful result in that it can be applied in any model.
A partial flow blockage in an assembly of a liquid metal reactor could result in a cooling deficiency of the core. To develop a partial blockage detection system, we have studied the changes of the temperature fluctuation characteristics in the upper plenum according to changes of the t10w blockage conditions in an assembly. We analyzed the temperature fluctuation in the upper plenum with the Large Eddy Simulation (LES) turbulence model in the CFX code and evaluated its statistical parameters. Based on the results of the statistical analyses, we developed a neural network model for detecting a partial flow blockage in an assembly. The neural network model can retrieve the size and the location of a flow blockage in an assembly from a change of the root mean square, the standard deviation, and the skewness in the temperature fluctuation data. The neural network model was found to be a possible alternative by which to identify a flow blockage in an assembly of a liquid metal reactor through learning and validating various flow blockage conditions.
Background: The prognostic factors for patients with full-thickness rotator cuff tears (RCTs) include tear size, muscle atrophy and fatty infiltration. However, the influence of early coexisting degenerative changes on RCT outcomes is unappreciated. The purpose of this study was to calculate the impact that pre-existing partial glenohumeral cartilaginous changes have on patients undergoing arthroscopic RCT repair. Methods: A study of 54 patients undergoing arthroscopic RCT repair was undertaken. The presence of co-existing patches of glenohumeral degenerative cartilaginous changes and RCT size was recorded at surgery. Pre- and postoperative outcomes were assessed using traditional (Oxford Shoulder Score [OSS], 5-level EuroQol-5D [EQ-5D-5L] questionnaire and EuroQol visual analog scale [EQ-VAS]) and patient-centric re-formatted prisms. Outcomes were assessed as an entire dataset, and sub-group analysis was performed according to the grade of co-existing arthritis and tear size. Results: Significant improvements (p<0.05) in clinical outcomes were recognized when assessed using either the traditional or reformatted prisms (average % improvements in OSS, EQ-5D-5L and EQ-VAS were 47%, 33% and 43%, respectively; average improvements in pain, function, and psychological well-being were 48%, 33% and, 29%, respectively). Positive gain was noted in all sub-groups of arthritic grading and tear size. Conclusions: Good clinical outcomes can be achieved following RCT repair even in the presence of local partial degenerative cartilage changes and advancing tear size. These benefits are patient-centered but require RCT repairability.

To detect the PD events, we have studied a fusion sensor, the UHF sensor and the single-walled carbon nanotube(SWNT) gas sensor. We are accustomed to the UHF sensor which have employed to detect the partial discharges in apparatus GIS-like. But the SWNT gas sense is a newly way proposed to detect the partial discharges. In this study, we monitored not only the changes of the electrical conductance of the SWNT sensors in responding to the PD events but also the signal of the UHF sensor at the same time with IEC 60270 standard method for reference on the partial discharge events.
