  • In this study the mechanical properties of various wire mesh reinforcing porous concrete mixtures are investigated. A properly designed porous concrete pavements provides a durable riding surface. It also eliminates puddles and standing water, resulting in improved skid resistance. The most popular application is that of light-traffic volume roadways such as parking lots, resident roads, driveways, and sidewalks. Flexural strength and toughness index are examined for wire mesh reinforcing porous concrete. Type of Wire mesh is divided into three cases, A type, B type and C type. It shows A type is most excellent shape of destruction of slab specimen is similar to that of flexural specimen. The aim of this paper is to present the results of a pilot study undertaken to examine the extent to which wire mesh reinforced porous concrete can be used as a continuous paving materials.

  • The 1.63㎓, 2.33㎓ dual-band PLL frequency synthesizer has been developed for applications to the miniature repeater. The miniature dual-band repeater will be used at shopping mall, basements and underground parking lots. The in-loop 1.63㎓, 2.33㎓ dual-band PLL frequency synthesizer has been developed by designing Si BJT VCO and PLL loop circuits with Colpitts. The prototype of 1.63㎓, 2.33㎓ dual-band PLL frequency synthesizer of size 19${\times}$19${\times}$8(mm) has shown operating frequencies of 1.63㎓, 2.33㎓ ranges, RF output of 1dBm(PCS), 1dBm(IMT-2000), phase noise of -100 dBc/Hz(PCS), -95dBc/Hz(IMT-2000) at 10KHz offset, harmonics suppression of -24dB c(PCS), -15dBc(IMT-2000).

  • Porous polymer concrete can be applied to roads, sidewalks, river embankment, drain pipes, conduits, retaining walls, yards, parking lots, plazas, interlocking blocks, etc. This study is to examine a content ratio of polypropylene fiber to improve bending strength, impact resistance and freezing and thawing rssistance of porous polymer concrete. Also, this study is performed to develop the porous polymer concrete using recycled coarse aggregate and blast furnace slag for application of structures needed permeability. At 7 days of curing, compressive strength, flexural strength, water permeability and flexural load are in the ragge of $17\~21MPa,\;5\~7MPa,\;4.1\times10^{-2}\~7.7\times10^{-2}cm/s$, respectively. It is concluded that the recycled aggregate can be used in the porous polymer concretes.

  • Residential apartment underground structures are being utilized for many purposes such as parking lots, community centers, fitness centers, etc. for efficient use of space. However, there are increasing problems of leakage due to various environmental and deterioration conditions. This paper proposes the development of an information network system which can serve as a base to provide solutions, alternatives and technical information for leakage prevention and effective design at the beginning of the construction stage.

  • In this paper, this system implements a wireless parking lots management using RFID. Universal RFID Reader uses the software and specifies the class of UHF band. And then, it can recognize UHF band tags controlling the hardware. It can provide more efficient administration of physical distribution.

  • Recently, Korea has established a plan for the supply of hydrogen vehicles and is promoting the expansion of the supply. Risk factors for hydrogen vehicles are hydrogen leakage, jet fire, and explosion. Therefore Safety measures are necessary for this hazard. In addition, risks in semi-closed spaces such as tunnels, underground roads, and underground parking lots should be analyzed. In this study, an explosion experiment was conducted on a hydrogen tank used in a hydrogen vehicle to analyze the risk of a hydrogen vehicle explosion accident that may occur in a semi-closed space. As results, the effect on the structure and the human body was analyzed using the overpressure and impulse values for each distance generated during the explosion.

  • Pusan Metropolitan City has developed 'HANARO Card' system. It is a sort of multi-function card systems which has devised to resolve many traffic problems, to improve public transportation services, to build advanced transit information systems, to encourage reasonable operation of the public transit companies, and to obtain basic informations for devising transportation policies. This study aims at reviewing the systems of 'HANARO Card', analysing the situation of usage of the card, and suggesting some issues for improving the system. Main finding is that the major effects of the introducing HANARO traffic card are convenience (to pay a charge) in using transit, public parking lots, city freeway toll for citizens, and saving in personnel expenses, maintenance expenses for buses, subway and taxi companies. It is also found that HANARO traffic card system needs to be expended to be compatible with other fields of economic activities.

  • In this paper, in order to utilize recycled aggregate as an alternative to natural resources in the construction industry, the physical properties of red mud-added soil concrete according to the type of aggregate and amount of binder were reviewed. The results of using waste asphalt concrete as a natural aggregate substitute were SPS-KSCICO- It was found to satisfy the compressive strength standards for parking lots of 001-2006, and its applicability in the construction industry was judged.

  • As part of a study to utilize recycled aggregates in the construction industry, this paper attempted to examine recycled aggregates from waste concrete, a construction waste, and red mud, an industrial by-product, by applying them to earthen concrete packaging materials. As a result, it was found to satisfy the compressive strength standards for parking lots of SPS-KSCICO-001-2006, and its applicability in the construction industry was judged.

  • This research was completed to provide fundamental data regarding the guidelines to installing and managing utility facilities & structures in wetland protected area to advance the functions and sustainable use of ecology services by preserving the ecology within wetland protected area. There were 5 on-site researching areas that were used as the main subject with these areas chosen and considered from 21 inland wetlands that have been designated and are being managed from the Ministry of Environment and by their designated dates as a wetland protected area. The utility facilities in these wetland areas were categorized by their types and a detailed on-site investigation was proceeded with investigation items chosen whereas these facilities are working by their roles from their location, size, used materials, types, information contents and etc., The results showed that regarding informational structures, several locations of information boards were distanced from the main exploring routes which did not consider the visitor's eye level which had their readability dropped and by sunlight, time lapse and water penetration, many information boards were damaged or corrupted so that it was hard to confirm the information noticed or understanding an image. Insufficient observation and educational structures were installed that considered the ecological characteristics of wild animals and their living conditions. Regarding convenience facilities, there were parking lots that were installed on the fore-land and to decrease non-point solution sources, some parking lots needed to be located in protected lowlands while some facilities' shape and colors did not harmonize with their natural surroundings, creating a sense of awareness, which will need some more consideration. As for safety facilities, they were very insufficient compared to other facilities. This means that additional safety structures are needed so that related personnel can be aware of where a visitor is located when an accident occurs. Protectional facilities strongly needed new structures and a management system to cut off entrances and do surveillance so that visitors do not go into areas outside of the managed areas and bring damages to restricted locations. Research labs needed to expand the use of automatic weather systems and water gauge equipments to build fundamental data regarding floodgates that are intimated to the forming of wetlands. Sensor cameras and other types of monitoring systems are needed to monitor the majority types of animals living in the wetlands as well.
