  • In this paper, the transformed QMSA to load a capacitor without limitation of the electric force on QMSA(Quarter-wavelength Microstrip Antenna) is designed. Bandwidth of the designed and manufactured antenna is 5.7% at the resonant frequency of 2.0 GHz and the resonant frequency and bandwidth versus change of any arbitrary feed point is observed. Since the size of wide slot width between the left and right parallel plate to load a capacitor is very wide bandwidth, will be suitable for very wide bandwidth communication. The radiation pattern characteristics of the designed antenna based on the dipole structure and the aperture structure analysis method. As calculation results, relative backward radation is - 5 dB.

  • In this paper, a symmetric QMSA(Quarter-wavelength Microstrip Antenna) loading a capacitor to spread the electric flux lines is proposed. It was found that the bandwidth of this symmetric QMSA is broader than that of the asymmetric QMSA having a right-side Parallel plate only to load a capacitor. It was also found that this antenna could receive both vertically and horizontally polarized waves at 2.13GHz, and would be useful as a small antenna for wireless telephones and for indoor communication. A transmission line circuit model of this antenna was obtained and used to compute the resonant frequency and the return loss of the antenna accurately.

  • In this paper, we report a high-precision wireless gap sensor based on a surface acoustic wave (SAW) device. The sensing element is a parallel-plate capacitor whose dimensions are $3{\times}3\;mm^2$, and is attached to the SAW device as an external load. The SAW device, equipped with an RF antenna, serves simultaneously as a signal conditioner and an RF transponder. The center frequency of the SAW device is 450 MHz. The wireless gap sensor prototype exhibits a resolution of 100 nm and a sensing range of $50{\mu}m$. The proposed sensor system can be used for remote, high-precision gap measurement in hard-to-reach environments.

  • We have constructed the laser system which was consisted of a high voltage pulse poner supply, a rapid high voltage spark gap and the Blumlein transmission line circuit of the multiple parallel plate capacitor type, and have studied the self-preionization effect from this laser system without additional modifications. The value of inductive or resistive loading of the laser oscillator seems to have a significant effect on the preionization. The optimal operational condition of this laser system was obtained at the inductive loading of L = I mtl across the laser tube with the spark gap distance of 6.0 mm. nitrogen pressure of 50 torr, when repetition rate was 70 Hz. Stability was found to be better than 2.0Yo and EIP was 867 V/cm.torr.

  • Electrostrictive polymer is deformed by electric force generated by electric field built by high voltage. When high voltage is applied to the electrostrictive polymer film in which the electrodes such as conductive grease or carbon powder are installed, it expands in the direction of area. Because electrostrictive polymer is incompressible and electric force is applied to it in the direction of thickness. Electrostrictive polymer film in which electrodes are installed, functions as a parallel-plate capacitor. Therefore anode and cathode charges are piled up or both electrodes and there exists attractive force that functions as pressure in the direction of thickness. So the thickness of electrostrictive polymer becomes thicker ...

  • We have constructed and studied a laser system which consists of a multiplex spark gap with 8 couples of spark gaps and a multiple parallel plate capacitor type Blumlein transmission line circuit. In this laser system, the length of the laser tube, the length of the multiplex spark gap and the total thickness of the transmission line circuit are chosen to be 520 mm. The experimental results show that one couple of spark gaps cannot give a uniform and complete lasing through the whole laser tube. All the more, a multiplex spark gap could not perform completely and synchronously. However, a multiplex spark gap in found to contribute to the increase of laser output power and the laser has performed the best when the location is three quarters of the laser tube length.

  • In this work, a capacitive wireless power transfer (C-WPT) system is presented for wireless sensor system (WSS) applications in marine propulsion shafts. For a single Q factor on both sides of the coupling capacitor and reactive power removal from the circuit, a double-sided LCLC converter and transformers topology are designed to drive the rotary C-WPT system for WSS on the shaft. Parallel-connected parallel plate rotating capacitors with a capacitance of 170 pF are designed and implemented for the C-WPT system on a snow rotating shaft. In the experimental results, the C-WPT system achieved a transmission efficiency of 66.67% with 7.8 W output power at 3 mm distance and 1 MHz operating frequency. Therefore, it was proved that the fabricated C-WPT system can supply power to the WSS of the rotating shaft.
