Ultimate response of bionics shells

  • Numerical analysis of ultimate behaviour of thin bionics shells is treated in present paper. Interactive conditions in resonance and stability ultimate response are considered. Numerical treatment of nonlinear problems appearing is made using the updated Lagrangian formulation of motion. Each step of the iteration approaches the solution of linear problem and the feasibility of parallel processing FETM-technique with adaptive mesh refinement and substructuring for the analysis of ultimate action of thin bionics shells is established. Some numerical results are submitted in order to demonstrate the efficiency of the procedures suggested.

  • The engineering properties of some Gyeongsang sedimentary rocks with respect to the grain size and the orientation of bedding planes were studied. The suitability of the rocks for civil and architectural construction was also investigated. The porosity of the rocks increases in proportion to the grain size. The ratio of the strain due to stress perpendicular to the bedding planes to the strain resulting from stress parallel to the bedding planes increases as the grain size decreases. The study indicates however, that the ratio of Young's modulus due to stress perpendicular to the bedding planes to Young's modulus resulting from stress parallel to the bedding planes increases in proportion to the grain size. The compressive strength of the sandstones studied is much greater than the strength of the conglomerate or shale. Only the coarse grained sandstone can be used for civil and architectural construction, regardless of the orientation of bedding planes. The relationships between compressive strength and density, elasticity and porosity, and compressive strength and mineral content were also studied.

The Monthly Water Supply Reliability Indexes in the Parallel Reservoir System

  • Water supply reliability indexes (WSRI) is estimated for assessment of water supply capacity in the downstream for parallel reservoir system in Nakdong River, South Korea, using allocation rule (AR) according to the water supply capacity of each reservoir and the characteristic of parallel reservoir system. The result of the analyzing parallel reservoir system for Andong and Imha reservoir in Nakdong River does not include evidences available enough to decide whether the results of water supply analysis are excellent in the current reliability evaluation or not. However, AR (C) shows a good result in the water supply capacity for each reservoir based on the connected operation system and the total water supply capacity at the control point of downstream by the average water supply capacity and possible range of water supply capacity suggested by this study. The average water supply capacity is analyzed by the reliability of monthly average water supply capacity. Furthermore, the possible range of water supply capacity is estimated by the standard deviation when water deficit occurs. Therefore, AR (C) is useful to establish and estimate the planning water supply capacity according to the monthly water supply condition and the possible range of water supply capacity when the water supply capacity deficit occurs, South Korea.

시차정보를 이용한 수평이동방식 입체영상 카메라의 주시각제어 (Vergence control of parallel stereoscopic camera using the binocular disparity information)

  • 본 논문은 기하학적 분석을 통한 수평이동방식 입체영상 카메라의 주시각제어의 자동화에 관한 것이다. 수평이동방식 입체영상 카메라의 기하학적 구조에서 관심물체의 거리와 주시각의 제어량 간에 선형관계가 있음을 실험을 통해 확인하고, 입체영상의 시차정보를 통해 주시각이 제어되는 입체영상 카메라 시스템을 제안하였다. 또한, 실시간 시차정보 추출을 위해, 획득되는 좌, 우 영상의 다운 샘플링 데이터와 수직방향 프로젝션 데이터를 각각 Cepstral 필터 입력으로 하는 빠르고, 정확한 입체영상 시차정보 추출 방법인 Hybrid Cepstral 필터를 제안하였다. 제안된 시차정보 추출 방법과 수평이동 방식 입체카메라의 주시각제어 시스템을 통해 보다 인간의 시각에 가까운 입체영상을 얻을 수 있다.

Dilemma of Saudi Arabian Construction Industry

  • Currently, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is the epicentre of building services engineering encapsulating the construction industry. On rise of technological advancements, engineers have the ease to thoroughly investigate engineering aspects. Not only engineers, but other stakeholders, tender related people, financial analysts work in parallel as well. However, there are some factors that are stumbling blocks in the way of progression including delaying factors in the construction industry. The paper provides deep insights of delaying factors regarding public building projects of the KSA. Collection of primary data was carried out by conducting a survey which comprised of 63 chief delay factors. Professionals related to construction industry were asked for ranking the factors in terms of their frequency of occurrence and degree of impact. Seven groups of risk factors are categorized and a correlation analysis is performed by identifying the correlation amongst the variables. Finally, 31 leading delay factors are extracted and reported.

  • 최근 건축공사가 활성화됨에 따라 기존 구조물과의 근접한 공사 그리고 인접 굴착공사와 병행하여 굴착공사가 진행되는 환경이 증가하고 있지만 이에 대한 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 두 개의 굴착 흙막이 구조물에 대해 기존 굴착 흙막이 구조물과 후속 굴착 흙막이 구조물 간의 상호작용 분석을 위해 수치해석을 수행하였다. 수치해석 분석결과 선행 굴착으로 인해 작용하는 지보재의 하중을 고려하지 않는 경우 구조물에 발생하는 변위는 과소평가 될 수 있는 것으로 분석되었고, 지보재에 작용하는 응력은 과하게 평가되어 실제 지반의 거동을 모사하기 위해서는 선행굴착으로 인해 발생하는 지보재 응력을 고려해야 하는 것으로 분석되었다.

  • 최근 들어 터널이 장대화 되면서 시공시 공기와 공사비를 감축할 수 있는 방안이 다양하게 강구되고 있다. 그러나 장대터널의 특성상 터널굴착작업이 종료된 후 콘크리트 라이닝 타설작업이 시작될 경우 공사기간 이 상당히 지연될 수밖에 없다 이에 따라 계룡터널에서는 도로터널에서 반드시 설치되는 콘크리트 라이닝 공 정과 관련하여 소요되는 공기를 단축시키기 위해 터널굴착 발파와 병행하여 라이닝을 시공하는 연구를 수행하였다. 실험은 터널막장 후방에 일정한 거리별로 모두 4 곳의 모형라이닝을 설치하고 발파계측 및 콘크리트 물성 실험을 실시하여 반복적인 발파진동하에서 콘크리트 라이닝에 영향을 미치지 않는 안전이격거리를 도출하였다. 또한 병행시공 현장적용시 환기 및 설비 재배치를 통해 작업환경을 개선하여 시공성을 확보할 수 있는 방안을 간략히 소개하고자 한다.

A Study on Distributed System Construction and Numerical Calculation Using Raspberry Pi

  • As the performance of the system increases, more parallelized data is being processed than single processing of data. Today's cpu structure has been developed to leverage multicore, and hence data processing methods are being developed to enable parallel processing. In recent years desktop cpu has increased multicore, data is growing exponentially, and there is also a growing need for data processing as artificial intelligence develops. This neural network of artificial intelligence consists of a matrix, making it advantageous for parallel processing. This paper aims to speed up the processing of the system by using raspberrypi to implement the cluster building and parallel processing system against the backdrop of the foregoing discussion. Raspberrypi is a credit card-sized single computer made by the raspberrypi Foundation in England, developed for education in schools and developing countries. It is cheap and easy to get the information you need because many people use it. Distributed processing systems should be supported by programs that connected multiple computers in parallel and operate on a built-in system. RaspberryPi is connected to switchhub, each connected raspberrypi communicates using the internal network, and internally implements parallel processing using the Message Passing Interface (MPI). Parallel processing programs can be programmed in python and can also use C or Fortran. The system was tested for parallel processing as a result of multiplying the two-dimensional arrangement of 10000 size by 0.1. Tests have shown a reduction in computational time and that parallelism can be reduced to the maximum number of cores in the system. The systems in this paper are manufactured on a Linux-based single computer and are thought to require testing on systems in different environments.

평행주차를 위한 자동 조향 제어시스템 개발 및 성능평가 (Development and Evaluation of Automatic Steering System for Parallel Parking)

  • This research is conducted to develop an automatic steering system for parallel parking, and the performance of the system was evaluated by parallel parking a conventional vehicle. The automatic steering system consisted of MDPS (motor driven power steering) to control steering, ESC (electronic stability control) to acquire wheel speed, ultrasonic sensors to recognize the parking space, and a controller to communicate and handle data. The parallel parking process using the automatic steering control consisted of parking space recognition, parking path generation, and parking path tracking. The path for parallel parking was generated based on a kinematic model of a conventional vehicle, and a PI controller was used to control the steering angle for path tracking. Parallel parking using the automatic steering control was conducted according to vehicle speed conditions. The results show that the errors on the x-axis and y-axis were below 0.54 m and 0.14 m, respectively, and the error on the steering angle was less than $1^{\circ}$. Therefore, it is possible to implement parallel parking using an automatic steering control system for conventional vehicles.

병렬 연결된 해상 크레인을 이용한 대형 중량물 인양 작업의 동적 거동 계산 시뮬레이션 (Dynamic Response Simulation of a Heavy Cargo Suspended by Parallel Connected Floating Cranes)

  • 본 연구에서는 병렬 연결된 해상 크레인을 이용하여 5,000ton 이상의 기가 블록급 대형 중량물을 인양할 때 해상 크레인과 대형 중량물 사이에 연결된 와이어 로프에 작용하는 장력을 계산하기 위해 다물체계 동역학 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 이를 위해, 해상 크레인, 바지선, 대형 중량물은 각각 6 자유도 운동을 하고, 이들 사이에는 서로간의 구속에 의한 연성을 가지도록 모델링 하였다. 또한 해상 크레인 및 바지선에 작용하는 외력으로 유체 정역학 힘과 유체 동역학 힘을 고려하였고, 각각의 물체에 독립적으로 작용한다고 가정하였다. 본 시뮬레이션 결과, 향후 해상크레인을 병렬 연결하여 대형 중량물을 인양하는 공법의 안정성을 확인하고 공학적인 지침을 마련할 수 있는 근간이 될 수 있으리라 예상한다.
