  • This paper presents an efficient eigensolution method for non-proportionally damped systems. The proposed method is obtained by applying the accelerated Newton-Raphson technique and the orthonormal condition of the eigenvectors to the linearized form of the quadratic eigenproblem. A step length and a selective scheme are introduced to increase the convergence of the solution. The step length can be evaluated by minimizing the norm of the residual vector using the least square method. While the singularity may occur during factorizing process in other iteration methods such as the inverse iteration method and the subspace iteration method if the shift value is close to an exact eigenvalue, the proposed method guarantees the nonsingularity by introducing the orthonormal condition of the eigenvectors, which can be proved analytically. A numerical example is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • This paper investigates dynamic characteristics of a graphene nanoplatelets reinforced composite (GNPRC) sandwich doubly curved shell based on the first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) and Hamilton's principle. The sandwich doubly curved shell is fabricated from a core made of honeycomb materials sandwiched by composite GNPs reinforced face-sheets. Effective materials properties of composite face-sheets are assumed to vary based on Halpin-Tsai micromechanical models and rule of mixture. Furthermore, the material properties of honeycomb core are estimated using Gibson's formula. The fundamental frequencies of the shell are computed with changes of main geometrical and material properties such as amount and distribution type of graphene nanoplatelets, side length ratio, thickness to length ratio of and side length ratio of honeycomb. The Navier's technique is presented to obtain responses. Accuracy and trueness of the present model and analytical solution is confirmed through comparison of the results with available results in literature. It is concluded that an increase in thickness to length ratio yields a softer core with lower natural frequencies. Furthermore, increase in height to length ratio leads to significant decrease in natural frequencies.

  • In this paper we study a ring over which every left module of finite length has an injective hull of finite length. We consider a ring that is a finite intermediate normalizing extension ring of such a ring. We also consider the subrings of such a ring.

  • This paper shows through detailed simulations that the length of conventionally designed multimode-interference couplers can be shorted significantly by stepped-width and stepped-index design. For the cross-coupling device, this stepped-design results in 9% or more length reduction.

  • In this paper, we applied FFT to PCB Images, cutting unnecessary singals and noise, moving the starting point to center of image and used rotaion transform. from the detected edge Hough Transform identify the length, but not the angle, so we matched PCB images with using rotation transform to identify length and angle. After rotation transform we employ Least Squared Method to exact stereo matching.

  • In this paper the influence or specimen length on flexural compressive strength and parameter or equivalent rectangular stress block of polymer concrete was evaluated. For this purpose, a series of C-shaped specimens subjected to eccentric compression were tested using four different length-to-depth ratios(from 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0) of specimens with compressive strength of 1,020kgf/cm$^2$. Results indicate that for the region of h/c$\leq$3.0 the reduction in equivalent rectangular stress block depth and flexural compressive strength with increase of length-to-depth ratios was apparent but for the region of h/c$\geq$3.0 they were nearly constant. It means that for the region of h/c$\geq$3.0 effect of specimen length on equivalent rectangular stress block depth and flexural compressive strength was negligible. It was also founded that the effect of specimen length on v, a coefficient of strength, that was from 0.84 to 0.86 regardless of h/c was petty. Finally, predictive equation is, suggested by using modified law of effect of specimen length and results.
