The safety of cultural properties, medical treatment and electrical communication equipments in a building was hardly considered against the earthquake induced vibration, while the integrity of the building structure has been taken into account through the resistant earthquake design. This paper presents design of a seismic isolation table for both indoor and outdoor electrical communication equipment. First of all, artificial earthquake waves compatible with floor and ground response spectra for electrical communication equipments are generated using previously recorded seismic waves. Two kinds of one-degree-of-freedom seismic isolation table systems: spring-linear damper and spring-friction damper systems are considered and their responses to artificial earthquake waves are simulated. Design parameter study for two seismic isolation tables are performed through simulations and a seismic isolation table for both indoor and outdoor electrical communication equipment is designed considering the simulation results.

It is very important that we try to keep our traditional historical assets in the original form for a long time. Seoggur-Am has a very long and old history of about 1200 years. Yet, for the past several years there are many factors ruinning this historical treasure. Recently, specialist are new scientifically examining Seoggur-Am and evaluating its current condition, If you only judge these historical assets from the exterior structural environmental approach your scientific conclusion will not be complete. No one has studied Seoggur-Am from the viewpoint of indoor environmental climate. Therefore, I have surveyed and prepared a report of investigation as well as countermeasure so to understand the impact of indoor environmental climate on Seoggur-Am. The purpose of this paper is to first survey the existing research data based on exterior structural environment. Secondly, closely evaluate the new data of Seoggur-Am from the viewpoint of indoor environmental climate.

This paper analysed the effect on Heunginjimun of ground vibrations due to C.I.P. works during Heunginjimun restoration period. Vibration criteria and laws for historic structures was investigated. The vibration was measured under test construction in the field, analysed and evaluated. Because the ground vibration exceeded the vibration criteria, the restoration construction could not be go along. But as vibration was transferred to the upper structures, it was confirmed that vibration levels declined, because of differences between natural and forced frequencies. If the natural frequencies database of historic structures are established, it will help with management and preservation of cultural properties by an environmental vibration effects evaluation.

The objective of this paper is to analyze the environmental effects by the fertilizer change with wastewater reuse for agriculture. For this research, Lysimeter tests are being implemented to cultivate rice with different levels of fertilizer applications with wastewater irrigation., and to analyze the nutrient loading by wastwater reuse in paddy fields was examined the CREAMS-PADDY model. CREAMS-PADDY model is modified from CREAMS model for considering the hydrologic cycles in paddy field. As a result, in the lysimeter treated by irrigation with wastewater and chemical fertilizer with half of the conventional amount showed generally similar tendency to the control plot. This may require the modifications of standard cultural practices for rice in terms of fertilizer and pesticide applications. However, high concentration of sodium in wastewater might cause damage to physico-chemical properties of paddy soil. And the wastewater reuse effects on nutrient loads were quantitatively analyzed and this results provide the reasonable management for agricultural reuse.

SMSC(Seoul Metropolitan Subway Corporation) is substantially taking the core role of mass transit system in Seoul Metropolitan area. When it was built, the design had challenged to sharp curved tracks less than 250m radius considering the protection of buildings and cultural properties as well as the connection to ground roads. Such circumstances have required a certain extent of slack in track geometry and therefore led to the construction of ballasted track with wooden sleepers. However, the dynamic force from running on sharp curved track has caused the misalignment and abnormal failure of track geometry, and it has resulted in a frequent maintenance and repair works which require a lot of cost and manpower. In this paper, we present the construction case of maintenance-free track system by using of concrete sleeper and elastic rail fastening system to ensure the safety of both passengers and trains, and to contribute the effective maintenance for track facilities of SMSC.

우리나라에는 역사적으로 아름답고 소중한 목조 건축물들이 문화재로 보존되고 있다. 그러나 목조 건축물들은 오랜 세월동안 풍화작용, 병충해 등과 같은 거친 환경조건에 노출되어 있다. 이러한 원인으로 인하여 건축물에 구조적 결함을 야기하기도 한다. 따라서 사전에 목조 건축물을 진단할 수 있는 방법이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 목조 건축물의 비파괴 검사에 표면하부 탐사 레이더의 적용 가능성을 3차원 유한차분 시간영역 모의계산과 실제 측정을 통하여 조사하였다.

The emergence of the cable television era has spawned the introduction of many new television programming formats such as all-news channels, movie channels, channels catering to cultural events, channels for women, and many others. One of the new programming formats that is expected to have interesting implications for marketing is the home shopping channel. As we have observed in other countries, this new form of distribution may potentially have a major impact on the traditional retail industry. This paper presents a model of home shopping channel viewing behavior. This model is then used to formulate optimal product presentation strategies that may aid managers in the design of home shopping programs. Specifically, by formulating a profit-maximization problem based on tile model, we derive the optimal length of product presentations and explore its properperties through simulating various situations. The discussion of these properties provide insights about making strategic decisions regarding product presentations.

1945년 광복 이후 남한과 북한이 분단된 상황 속에서 남한은 무형문화의 손실을 예방하기 위해 1962년 무형문화재 제도를 제정하면서 무형문화들을 발굴하고 복원하였다. 이 때 민속 문화를 포함한 여러 무형문화들이 무형문화재로 지정되었다. 국가 무형문화재로 지정된 민속 문화 중 북한에서 연행되었던 탈춤인 은율탈춤의 사례를 통해 무형문화재 제도 속에서 지정된 무형문화의 전승이 이루어진 과정과 반주음악의 변화 양상에 대해 다룬다. 음악적인 전승을 이루는데 보존회 중심의 구성원들이 국가무형문화재라는 틀 안에서 은율탈춤을 예술로 인식함으로써 그들의 이념과 정체성이 표상된다. 이로써, 제도 속에서 음악적인 전승을 이루는데 구성원들의 정체성과 이념은 불가분의의 관계임을 알 수 있으며 국가무형문화재의 구성 속에서 무형문화를 현재까지 지속시킬 수 있었던 과정을 살펴본다.

Traditional Korean paper called Hanji using bast fibers from mulberry tree is made through complicated handmade works. This made Hanji very strong and exceedingly durable. Therefore it is said to last a thousand years. Such incomparable features of Hanji come from the unique sheet forming method called ouibalttugi using a bamboo screen. Excellent physical properties of Hanji reflect the wide variety of use, all central to everyday life. Despite its Excellency, the papermaking practice of traditional handmade paper, Hanji, from Korea is little known outside its country. This might be due to public apathy on Hanji in modern times. Without future apprentices dedicated to the craft, the Korean tradition able to make its soul is in danger of extinction in its homeland. Therefore more concern and more affection on Hanji is required immediately. It must be kept in mind that Hanji is our cultural heritage in pride over time.

This paper compares sequential and non-sequential verbal conjunctions in Korean, English, and Japanese by looking at how sequential verbal conjunction is treated in each language. It frist reviews verbal conjunctions in Korean, where sequential conjunction is treated as subordination and non-sequential conjunction is treated as coordination, and looks at verbal conjunctions in English and Japanese to see whether or not sequential conjunction in those languages is subordination. According to Oh (2010), sequential and non-sequential conjunctions in Korean behave quite differently with respect to the tense and negation in the final conjunct. Also, Cho (1995, 2005) and Kwon (2004) show that syntactic operations such as extraction and scrambling clearly distinguish sequential conjunction from non-sequential conjunction. The purpose of this paper is to see how sequential and non-sequential conjunctions are analyzed in English and Japanese and to compare those languages with Korean, especially focusing on whether or not sequential conjunctions in English and Japanese are treated as subordination. For this purpose, I first investigate how tense and negation, which provided crucial evidence for concluding that Korean sequential conjunction is subordination, is interpreted in sequential and non-sequential verbal conjunctions in English and Japanese. Also, I investigate the syntactic properties of sequential and non-sequential conjunctions with respect to syntactic operations such as extraction and scrambling in those languages. The results of the investigation show that in Japanese, which is considered typologically similar to Korean, the sequential conjunction is a case of subordination, while in English, which is considered typologically different from Korean, both sequential and non-sequential conjunctions are treated as coordination.
