팬톤 올해의 컬러와 메이크업 기법을 적용시킨 아트메이크업 작품연구 (A Study on Art Makeup Works that Applied Pantone Color of the Year and Makeup Techniques)

  • This study aimed to analyze the relationship between makeup and Pantone color by reflecting the visual elements of modern people who react sensitively to trends, and to research and propose art makeup using various techniques based on the results. The scope of this study was the last 5 years for researching trend colors. The range of colors was from 2016 to 2020, and the research method was designed after examining makeup trends using Pantone colors from 2016 to 2020; the characteristics of color and trend makeup were analyzed to design art makeup using various techniques. With respect to research data, literature review was conducted on the makeup design using Pantone colors with trend makeups. By referring to data in Pantone's official website, the characteristics and meanings of each color were analyzed. Based on research data, illustrations were made and makeup was designed and suggested. According to the study results, one-color makeup created a stable and uniform mood as a whole and could highlight the characteristics of each color. On the other hand, the makeup design that mixed Pantone colors harmonized the complementary colors and created an original and beautiful makeup design. The researcher identified the relationship and characteristics of trend colors and makeup and suggested various techniques, and expects that by linking the effect of trend color with makeup, designs and visual effects that go beyond the limits of the makeup market will be suggested and expanded.

Working Clothes Design and Production in the Mechatronics Machinery Industry with the Application of Faber Birren's Color Harmony Theory

  • This study proposed a color scheme that is harmonious with the working environment of industrial sites using Birren's color harmony theory for color planning. To apply the Birren's color harmony theory to working clothes, the basic colors were chosen, and six of the eight harmony formulas of Birren excluding achromatic colors (white + grey + black) and solid color harmony (solid colors + white + black) were used to form a palette for each case. For the basic colors, the color chips of four dominant colors (yellow-green, sky-blue, blue, and violet), which were chosen from a field survey for preferences in the first step, and the production of materials in the second step were collected through the PANTONE color chips. The selected color chips were PANTONE 13-0550 TPX, PANTONE 15-4105 TPX, PANTONE 18-3949 TPX, and PANTONE 19-3720 TPX. These color chips were scanned and their RGB values were extracted through Photoshop CS. Then the colors were arranged in accordance with the Birren's color harmony formulas (Color+Tint+White, Color+Shade+Black, Tint+Tone+Shade, Shade+Tone+Black, Shade+Tone+White, and Tint+Shade+Tone+Gray). In addition, the proposed palette color schemes were applied through Birren's color harmony formulas using Texpro V 10.1 textile to the schematization of working clothes that were designed in the previous study. Palette formation in line with Birren's color harmony formulas provided scientific color arrangement results. Visually presenting the color scheme of working clothes will help the color selection of working clothes in tune with the circumstances of industrial sites.

Changes in Consumer Color Preference for 'Songpyun', a Korean Rice Cake

  • Color is one of the most important attributes determining the purchase of food products by consumers. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to identify consumer color preferences for songpyun, a traditional Korean rice cake, by a consumer acceptance test and using coated Pantone color chips. Color evaluation tools for the study were developed accordingly. From the results, the songpyun sample designated as product E was given the highest color acceptability score, and was 'slightly liked' (p<0.05). The color of product E was 'very pale red-purple'. All the evaluated pink-color songpyun products were based on this red-purple hue, however, they had differences in tone. The consumer panel favored a pale tone over a bright tone. The color concept for traditional songpyun within the pink color category was identified as 'very pale red-purple', using coated Pantone color chips. This result for the conceptual color preference was consistent with that of the consumer color acceptance test. Thus, color chips could be an effective tool when applied for color standardization in traditional foods production. From the overall results, it seems consumers are perceiving color trends and are willing to adapt to such changes in food applications.

노인주거시설 공용공간의 실내색채 사례연구 - 미국 캘리포니아 콘트라 코스타군의 노인주거시설을 중심으로 - (A Case Study on the Interior Color Characteristics for Common Spaces in Elderly Housing - Special Reference to Elderly Housing In Contra Costa County, California, U.S.A -)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the interior color characteristics of elderly housing facilities in U. S. A. For this purpose, a field survey was conducted between July 23 and July 31, 2003, visiting 10 elderly housing facilities in Contra Costa County, California. A three step analysis of the facilities involved. First, floor, walls, ceilings, base boards and doors in common spaces were examined for the color scheme using the "Pantone for Fashion and Home Color Guide" for each room. Measured Pantone numbers were converted to RGB color using "Chooser 3.0 of Pantone, Inc." Finally, the conversions were recorded as Munsell numbers. The results are as follows: First, the colors chosen for American elderly housing are high value and low chromatic colors. In many facilities, analogue colors such as BG, B, BP and Y, YR R, RP are used. Second, the colors of ceiling and wall are mainly very bright and low chromatic colors. The colors of floor are undertaking an Important role by generating major atmosphere in the America elderly housing. Third, the colors used for elderly housing are found inter-related. For example, the main color in the lobby is also used from corridor to stair and used again from lounge to dinning room as a secondary color. Fourth, it is found that accent colors are used at the beginning and end of stair and corridor outskirts in consideration of physical condition of elderly people. Fifth, there is no difference in color selection between elderly housing with low and high rental value. Preferably, more versatile colors are being chosen for elderly housing with the low rental value.he low rental value.

제주 천연자원의 염색을 활용한 패션 색채기획 (Fashion Color Planning Using Dyeing with Jeju Natural Resources)

  • 본 연구에서는 현대 패션 산업에서 활용하는 색채 기획 프로세스에 기반하여 제주의 대표적인 천연 자원 추출물로 면직물을 염색하고 물리적 색채와 트렌드 색채감성을 분석하여 2016S/S 시즌을 목표로 천연염색 유 아동복 디자인을 위한 감성 색채 테마를 제안하고자 하였다. 제주의 전통 염색 자원인 풋감과 주요 농산물인 감귤, 해양식물인 감태를 각각 분말염료로 제조하고 단일 염색과 복합염색을 병행하여 다양한 색채를 면직물에 구현하고, 2016S/S 유행색을 중심으로 Pantone TPX에 매칭하여 시즌 유행색의 감성 이미지를 고려하여 천연염색 유 아동복 디자인 기획에 활용할 수 있는 감성 색채 테마를 제안하였다. 연구 결과로서 제주 천연자원을 이용한 직물 염색 색채는 Purple Blue에서 Green Yellow에 이르는 색상과 pale, light grayish, soft, grayish, dull의 톤을 나타내었다. 이 중에서 38개의 천연염색 색채가 인터컬러와 한국 CFT에서 제안한 2016S/S 유행색의 일부를 포함한 23종의 Pantone TPX에 매칭되었다. 매칭된 Pantone 색채들을 활용하여 세 가지 컬러웨이를 설정하고 각 컬러웨이의 색채들에 대한 주관적 감성 평가를 실시하여 컬러웨이 그룹별로 차별화되는 색채 감성을 추출하였다. 이 결과를 기반으로 최종적으로 2016S/S 유행색 테마에서 가지는 감성 이미지와 염색에 활용된 제주 천연자원의 고유 특성 및 유 아동복에의 적합성을 고려하여 'Serenity'와 'Juicy', 'Fancy'의 세 가지 색채 감성 테마를 제안하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 유행색의 감성에 기반한 색채 기획 프로세스가 확립되지 않은 천연염색 산업에서 활용할 수 있는 색채기획 가이드 라인을 제공함과 동시에, 제주의 지역 특화 천연염색 색채에서 도출될 수 있는 색채감성 테마를 제안하였다는 데에 의의가 있다.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 현재 운영피고 있는 한국 노인주거시설의 색채특성을 파악하여 앞으로 우리나라 노인주거시설 계획의 참고자료를 제공하고자 하는 것이다. 연구의 방법은 실증적인 사례연구로 2003년 10월 16일부터 10월 25일까지 노인주거시설 10곳을 선정, 직접 방문하여 각 공간을 측색 기록하고 사진촬영을 병행하면서 조사하였으며 Pantone for Home and fashion Color Guide을 사용하여 직접 비교 측색하였다. 측색한 값을 분석하기 위해 Pantone사의 Chooser3.0을 사용해 RGB와 HTML칼라로 변환하고, 칼라칩을 색측계 Minolta CR200을 이용하여 직접 측색하여 먼셀 값으로 기록하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국 노인주거시설에 사용된 색채를 보면, 명도는 고명도에서 저 명도까지 쓰였고 채도는 주로 중채도에서 저채도까지 그리고 주로 난색계열이 쓰이고 있었다. 둘째, 한국 노인주거시설 실내구성요소를 보면, 천장과 벽이 거의 흰색에 가까운 고명도의 Y, GY계열의 색을 사용하고 있고 바닥 또한 Y, YR계열의 비중이 높아 색채배색이 유사하고 단조로웠으며 획일적인 분위기를 나타내고 있었다. 따라서 보다 다양한 색채의 사용이 필요하다. 셋째, 한국 노인주거시설 각 공간에 사용된 색채는 대부분 서로간의 연계성을 가지고 있었으나 이는 일률적이며 단조로운 색채계획으로 인해 나타난 결과라 보여 진다. 따라서 앞으로 노인주거시설을 계획할 때에는 보다 다양한 색채의 조합으로 공간간의 연계성을 가지되 각 공간의 특성이 부각되도록 계획하여야 할 것이다. 넷째, 한국 노인주거시설에 사용된 색채를 노인의 신체적 심리적 특성과 연결해서 살펴보면, 대부분기 시설에서 노인의 신체적, 심리적 특성을 고려한 색채계획이 되어있지 않았다. 따라서 이를 고려한 보다 적극적인 색채계획이 필요하다. 다섯째, 조사대상 주거시설의 특성에 따른 실내색채를 보면 임대료에 따라 차이가 났는데 그 중에서도 고가의 임대료를 내는 한 사례에서만 비교적 적극적으로 색채계획이 이루어지고 있었고 그 외에 중가나 저가의 임대료를 내는 시설에서는 여러 가지 면에서 확연히 부족하였다. 실내를 계획함에 있어 색채는 저가의 예산이라면 수성페인트 등을 사용하는 등 비교적 저 예산으로도 훌륭한 결과를 도출할 수 있는 분야임으로 보다 세심한 계획 이 요구된다.

CMS를 사용한 별색 교정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Spot Color Proofing using ICC-based Color Management System)

  • The general commercial printing meets the customer's diverse demand by using spot color besides process four color. Especially, by using spot color for printing the enterprise's logo or specific color, we can see the effect of printing is getting better. The objective of this study was to examine the quality of spot color reproduction with Inkjet for 2 types of paper and Dye sublimation in ICC-based color management system. ICC profiles were generated for each device using ECI 2002 visual target and evaluated for the accuracy of each printer's color profile. The test chart consisting of Pantone color 1140 was selected to test the quality of spot color reproduction.

  • "Saikdong" is a material that represents the Korean aesthetic behavioral pattern of colors. It shows the unique harmony of the color combination with the use of simple combined colors. The objective of this paper is two-folded. First, it is to explore the direction of Korean Design. Secondly, it is to find out aesthetic charateristics and consciousness in Saikdong. 17 traditional costumes made with the designs of Saikdong were selected from three museums in Seoul. The most properly matched color hues selected after comparing each color with the Pantone Textile Color Specifier. The results were shown as follows. 1. Korean design is to recreate the traditional objects considering the contemporary circumstances. 2. Contrast effects in lightness and saturation are very noticeable in Saikdong. Saikdong maintains the same widths of color stripes with the asymmetric balance of hues which give the rhythmical arrangement of colors. 3. Sikdong contains the shamanic wishes that everything is going well and the desire for the beauty. 4. The aesthetic consciousness of Saikdong has turned out to be happiness and harmonizing.rmonizing.

ICC 기반의 컬러 매니지먼트 시스템을 사용한 별색 교정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Spot Color Proofing using ICC-based Color Management System)

  • Recently, the trend in the printing industry includes shorter run lengths and with fast turnaround times. As new markets have made it possible to produce small quantities of high-quality color products at affordable price, the general commercial printing meets the customer's diverse demand by using spot color besides process four colors. Especially, by using spot color for printing the enterprise's logo or specific color, we can see the effect of printing is getting better. With the combination of the right software, ink, media, and device can be treated as a digital proofer for spot color printing, providing significant time and cost savings compared to conventional procedures. The objective of this study is to investigate the quality of spot color proofs printed by ink-jet and dye sublimation proofer using ICC-based color management system. An Epson Stylus Color 3000 ink-jet proofer combined with Best Color Proof XXL RIP was tested for glossy and matte paper. 3M Rainbow dye sublimation proofer was examined using 3M Rainbow controller ver. 4.1 RIP on the manufacturer recommended proofing paper. ICC profiles were generated for each device using ECI 2002 visual target and evaluated for the accuracy of process 4 color reproduction. The test charts consisting of Pantone color 1140 was selected to test the quality of spot color reproduction.

A Comparative Study of Recognition Rate of Color QR Code Printed on Tyvek and Cotton Material

  • This purpose of this study to analyze effect material properties have on change in QR code recognition rate according to change of materials by comparing recognition rate of color QR code. QR code applied to textile materials has the advantage of being washable and being applicable to lost child prevention goods or clothes or a person with dementia through record of information relating to the material or input of additional information, differently from QR code printed on the conventional paper. An effective method of entering QR code in textile materials is Digital Textile Printing(DTP), that facilitates printing by rapidly applying diverse information, and small quantity production. It is possible to tailor various QR codes according to use. Regarding samples to use, cotton material used in clothing products and Tyvek material recently applied to clothing and related products were selected. Reactive dyes were used for cotton, pigment was used for Tyvek, and QR code was printed with an inkjet printer by direct printing method. Printing methods and surface textures are different between cotton and Tyvek. It was revealed that consequent print results and results of recognition rate were different. Regarding color to be printed, 2015 S/S - 2017 S/S color presented by Pantone was used. Color combination affected recognition rate of color QR code. Understanding color combination, material properties and print characteristics may be helpful in increasing recognition rate of color QR code, and may contribute to usability of color QR code applied to textile materials in the future.
