This study investigated the isolation hypothesis and the buffer hypothesis of Demand-Control-Support model in relation to activity satisfaction and psychological well-being. The subjects were 300 elderly women participating in productive activity for example paid work, voluntary activity, and grancdhildren care. This research tested four hypotheses concerning the DCS model. Is there support for the isolation hypothesis, such that the lowest level of activity satisfaction is experienced by the elderly women working in an isolation situation(high demand-low control-low support)? Is there support for the isolation hypothesis, such that the lowest level of psychological well-being is experienced by the elderly women working in an isolation situation(high demand-low control-low support)? Is there support for the buffer hypothesis, i. e. interaction between demand, control, and support, indicating a buffering effect of support on the negative impact of high strain on activity satisfaction? Is there support for the buffer hypothesis, i. e. interaction between demand, control, and support, indicating a buffering effect of support on the negative impact of high strain on psychological well-being? Major results of this study were as follows. and were supported. Activity satisfaction and psychological well-being of the elderly women in isolation situation was the lowest among the sample. was supported that family support level buffered the negative impact of high strain on activity satisfaction. But was not supported. Only main effect of demand level was showed on psychological well-being.

Thanks to the informatization of society, complex and high-tech devices are being introduced in all areas of human life, and the latest technologies are being actively improved in the modern, globalizing world. The article deals with the issues of using information and communication technologies in legal activities. It also covers the main types of such activities: law-making, law enforcement, and interpretive activity. Since there is an increase in the flow and accumulation of legal information, it is practically impossible to use traditional methods of working with legal information. The article considers and analyzes the role of information and communication technologies in modern legal activity. It is necessary to reveal the principles, concepts, conditions, and factors of their development and develop theoretical and practical recommendations for the use of such technologies in order to solve legal tasks. The authors of the article raise the issues of increasing the efficiency of legal activity, as well as the integration of information technologies into practical legal activity and their use for collecting, storing, searching, and issuing legal and reference information. Much attention is paid to the specific use of automated data banks and information retrieval systems in legal practice that ensure the accumulation, systematization, and effective search for legally important information. The development of such technologies leads to the creation of comfortable conditions for a lawyer in the course of their professional activity. Currently, legal activity cannot exist without telecommunication technologies, legal reference systems, and electronic programs. The authors believe that due to the use of the latest information technologies, the time for making legal decisions has significantly accelerated, the process of searching and systematizing evidence has been worked out, and it has become possible to quickly and efficiently find information on adopted laws and legal acts.
The purpose of this paper is to apply the newly developed SICAT teaching and learning model to the actual scene of teaching and learning and draw a point of discussion for utilizing teaching and learning model, by uncovering the satisfaction of students and the inhibiting/facilitating elements when using the model. SICAT(Scientific Inquiry and Creative Activity with Technology; from here on SICAT), a teaching and learning model custom-built for engineering education, was developed, as more and more people paid attention to the demand for creative engineers. It was developed from the basis of PBL(Problem Based Learning), includes three sub-types which can be applied to the actual theory, design, and experimentation fields within engineering education. The three sub-types, which are ARDA(Analysis-Reasoning Activity & Discussion-Argumentation Activity), CoCD (Collaboration Activity & Capstone Design Activity), and ReSh(Reflection Activity & Sharing Activity), respectively support deductive and argumentation activities, creative design and collaboration activities, and retrospection and sharing activities. However, no research has been conducted to investigate whether or not there are inhibiting or facilitating elements in the application procedure, or what the rate of satisfaction for students is, when applying the SICAT model, which was newly developed to innovate existing engineering education, to the actual site of teaching and learning. Therefore, this research applied three types of SICAT teaching and learning models to the theory, design, and experimentation classes at the department of materials science and engineering at Hanyang University for eight weeks. After application, the students, teachers and tutors were surveyed and interviewed, and then the results analyzed in order to uncover inhibiting/facilitating elements and the rate of satisfaction. The satisfaction rate of students from the SICAT teaching and learning model was 3.78(in a perfect score of 5: The A type-3.65, The C type-3.80, The R type-3.90), and inhibiting/facilitating elements were drawn from the aspects of learning activities, support system. In conclusion, they can be contributed for implications of SICAT teaching and learning model universal use at engineering education in University.

Although various biological activities of resveratrol have been extensively studied, most reports have focused on trans-resveratrol and little attention has been paid to the cis-isomer. In this study, the effect of cis-resveratrol on platelet activity was examined and compared with that of the trans-isomer. Treatment with cis-resveratrol resulted in inhibition of platelet aggregation induced by thrombin, collagen or ADP, which are representative aggregation-inducing agents, and the trans-isomer elicited the same effects. These effects were concentration-dependent in the range of 1-100 ${\mu}M$. However, the potency of the cis-isomer was much lower than that of the trans-isomer; the $IC_{50}$ values for the cis-isomer versus the trans-isomer were $31{\pm}12$ vs $151{\pm}3$, $161{\pm}3$ vs $91{\pm}4$, and $601{\pm}15$ vs $251{\pm}6\;{\mu}M$ for thrombin-, collagen- and ADP-induced aggregation, respectively. These results indicate that cis-resveratrol has a less potent anti-platelet activity, compared with the trans-isomer, and raise the possibility that the biological activities of the cis-isomer may be different from those of the trans-isomer. It will be necessary to evaluate the activity of cis-resveratrol independently of the trans-isomer.

The main purpose of the article is to study the peculiarities of the work of the Ukrainian language in the upper grades of the lyceum based on the activity approach. Despite the fact that a number of scientific studies and applied developments on teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language have recently appeared in Ukrainian linguistics, significant problems in this area should be recognized (organization of the educational process when learning a language as a foreign language, general methodological principles, psycho- and sociolinguistic foundations, communicative approaches), the non-resolution of which leads to methodologically unreasonable teaching of the Ukrainian language as a foreign language, the use of methods of teaching the language as a native language or the study of the language as a subject (linguistic aspect). In addition, due attention is not paid to the development of communication skills, which, firstly, worsens the quality of teaching and learning. Based on the results of the analysis, the key aspects of the work on the Ukrainian language in the senior classes of the lyceum were analyzed on the basis of an activity approach.

Fruit-specific promoters play an important role in the improvement of traits, such as fruit quality through genetic engineering. In tomato, the development of fruit-specific promoters was previously reported, but less attention has been paid to the promoters involved in the fruit development stage. In this study, we characterized the gene expression patterns of tomato alcohol dehydrogenase 2 (SlAdh2) in various tissues of wild-type tomato (cv. Ailsa Craig). Our findings revealed that SlAdh2 expression levels were higher in the developing fruit than in the leaves, stems, and flowers. The ProSlAdh2 region, which is expressed at different stages of fruit development, was isolated from tomato genomic DNA. Following this, it was fused with a β-glucuronidase reporter gene (GUS) and introduced into wild-type tomato using Agrobacterium-mediated transformation to evaluate promoter activity in the various tissues of transgenic tomato. The ProSlAdh2:GUS promoter exhibited strong activity in the fruit and weak activity in the stems, but displayed undetectable activity in the leaves and flowers. Interestingly, the promoter was active from the appearance of the green fruit (1 cm in size) to the well-ripened stage in transgenic tomatoes, indicating its suitability for transgene expression during fruit development and ripening. Thus, our findings suggest that ProSlAdh2 may serve as a potential fruit-specific promoter for genetic-based improvement of tomato fruit quality.
This study aimed to understand communicative and socialization practices of immigrant bilingual families in everyday learning situations by examining interactions between parents and children in the United States. Drawn on language socialization theory and socio-cultural factors influencing immigrants, this study explored how three Korean American mothers struggled as they helped their children with homework by interviewing the mothers and observing mother-child interaction during homework time. The study paid attention to the emotional values of immigrant parents that they tried to teach their children who are members in two distinctive communities, such as Korean American and mainstream American. The findings showed that parental socialization practices had effects on children's emotional and social competence and at the same time the socialization process was bidirectional. Mothers started with Korean values, but they faced challenges with the English language, different demands for American homework, and children's rejection of their attempts. Mothers needed to change their strategy and borrow American ways of keeping emotional distance from their children by acknowledging their independence. Their struggles are discussed with attention to their language choice and culture.
Parental leave in Sweden is a part of the health insurance in national social insurance system. It has two kinds of benefits. One is parental cash benefit paid for both husband and wife on the occasion of child birth, currently 450days for each child. The other is temporary parental cash benefit when a child under the age of twelve or a caretaker for him is illness, which is six months for a child a year. Parental insurance in Sweden permits parents to take care of their children just after birth at home with the amount of 80% of monthly income for 360 days and 60 Swedish krone each day for 90 days more. It also permits parents with children under the age of eight of part-time work and return to former job at full-time base when they want. It consequently entourage women's economic activity in her whole life and contributes to promotion of equality in sex roles between husband and wife. This insurance scheme is beneficient in that it enhances individual and family welfare and also secures labour force. This case study on Swedish parental insurance offers implication how to resolve the conflict between women's increased demand for economic activity and maternal role.
Berberis koreana Palibin belonging to Berberidaceae family, a common herb in Korea, has been contained some quantity of Berberine analogue and other ingredients. Authors therefore paid attention to its pharmacological actions and examined the effects on sleep duration and rectal temperature in mouse with crystal (A) from Berberis koreana Palibin in Korean native plans. The experiment searching for the effect on sleep duration was performed with pretreatment of Berberis Koreana Palibin crystal (A) 30 min before the administration of 25 % ethanol, and its crystal were also administered intraperitoneally with the intention to examine the effect on rectal temperature in mouse. The results of the experiment were as follows; 1. Crystal (A) from Berberis koreana Palibin was made by extraction with ethanol and HCI. 2. Crystal (A) enhanced the hypnotic activity of alcohol in concentratins of 0.1 mg/10g or 0.15 mg/10g. 3. Rectal temperatures in mice were significantly reduced with administration of crystal (A) in concentrations of 0.1 mg/10g or 0.15 mg/10g. 4. The maximal reduction of rectal temperature and potentiation of the hypnotic activity were observed at 30 min after its administration. From the above results, it is clear that crystal (A) from Berberis koreana Palibin exerts the potentiation of hypnotic action of alcohol and reduction of rectal temperature in normal mouse. Its pharmacological effects are probably derived from the action upon the central nervous system.
It has been observed that water, which is absolutely essential for enzyme activity, can induce the agglomeration of enzyme particles in organic media. Although enzyme agglomeration is significant in that it usually reduces enzyme activity and stability, little attention has been paid to the quantitative analysis of enzyme agglomeration behavior in nonaqueous biocatalytic systems. In this study, the effect of water and silica gel on enzyme agglomeration were investigated using Candida rugosa lipase and cyclohexane as a model enzyme and an organic medium. The extent of enzyme agglomeration was quantified by sieve analysis of freeze-dried agglomerates. Increasing the water content of the medium increased the size of the enzyme agglomerates, and it was found that water produced during the esterification reaction could also promote the agglomeration of enzyme particles suspended in organic media. On the other hand, the size of the enzyme agglomerates was remarkably reduced in the presence of silica gel at the same water content. We also show that this increase in the size of enzyme agglomerates results in lower reaction rates in organic solvents.
